My dentist had to refer me out. I went to this place as a walk-in emergency. Abscess resolved, the wisdom tooth pulled and I didn't even realize the procedure had taken place. I was so scared of being put under anesthesia. I was afraid I'd be feeling all the pain without being able to move, or of some kind of complication arising and never waking up... but I'm here to tell you, I was sitting there talking with the Dr. one moment, and the next thing I know -I kid you not- I opened my eyes thinking I had just dozed off for a moment, asked if they were going to start yet (the Dr. and Assistant), to which they warmly laughed and informed me they were done. Praise God I was so happy!!! For over 10 years I had been putting that off and it was finally over thanks to God, my family, the original dentist and these people. I was cleaning tonight and found my old paperwork for this procedure and realized I never left a review and I really wanted to, so here I am now. Ontop of all of that, they are honest. Not long after the procedure, I got a check in the mail for about a hundred dollars. Apparently I had been overcharged by accident. I mean c'mon that kind of righteousness is rare in this world. They didn't have to do that, I would have never known better. With all of that being said - 10/10 HIGHLY recommend, I would definitely go here again - though I hope I never need to ! To any staff who may be reading... thank you thank you thank you... I was hrs away from potential death, literally. But because of your work I am here, my daughters have their daddy still. I woke up roughly 40 minutes after procedure began which was beyond my expectations as Dr. Payne said it may be a bit challenging to extract this specific tooth. Day #1 the crown it wasn't well done and needed to return for corrections. 2nd Second visit, the crown oh surprise!!! again the lab made again a mistake and the Doctor had to returned to the Lab one more time. Visit #3 the crown was placed and apparently everything was good now, but after a few hours when I tried to eat but my teeth would not allow me to chew, my bite was too high. That alone is hard to find. What I liked about actually going to his office is that it is a family environment and the dentist and his staff are friendly and personable. What I liked even more is that he is very good at his job as a professional and made my pain go away. His sincerity showed in relieving my pain than the formalities of up-selling and dragging out appointments for the sake of creating more appointments and billings that is typical in many dentists. And even more importantly, whether you have insurance or not, Dr. Wong has very fair rates and more interested in your care than how much money can be bilked from you that I've found in many dentist offices today. I'm very reserved in my recommendations but if you are looking for a good dentist who cares and is personable instead of treating u like just another appointment to get through so they can bill you/your insurance, call Dr. Wong.

The fillings and cleaning were understandable but getting a crown was unnecessary. I didn't feel like she was compassionate enough to offer other options. It would have costed me close to $700 after insurance. It sounds like she was after money. I felt uneasy going back to my second appointment. I contemplated about switching dentist. I decided to go to the second appt for scheduled gum cleaning. I was so happy I did because Jessica, who took care of me, was so sweet and nice. She treated me with best customer service. The entire time, she was extra gentle on my teeth and accomdated me. She took her time making sure she got all the nasty plaques off and I didn't feel pain at all. She is the best dental hygienist I ever came across and I had the best experience with her. The office provides a special mouthwash to be used 5 days after cleaning. If it wasn't for Jessica, I wouldn't want to go back. I left there with my mouth and teeth feeling super clean, not even with a missed spot. I'm definitely going back to her but will not be going through with the crown.

When I broke a crown in the front of my mouth, I bought an HMO dental policy that I believed would cover some of the expense, but I found extremely few dental offices accept HMO insurance. This office was one of very few who did. The dentist (Pushpinder Sethi) said my crown wasn't repairable. She wanted to do a bridge and charge me about $2000. That would require her to work on the healthy tooth next to the bad tooth so she could anchor the bridge to it. Even though I answered "No" to all the questions that indicated poor gum health (pain, bleeding etc), they also told me that my gums were in bad shape and I needed deep scaling and root planing. This would cost me about $1000 and require ongoing followup attention every three months. It appeared that my HMO policy covered nothing. Interestingly, the dentist was free and able to begin this time-consuming process on me right then and there. When I would not consent, they told me they would record my decision to decline this service in my chart. I felt they were trying to intimidate me into agreeing to the procedure. I was surprised that they had room in their schedule to begin a time-consuming deep scaling and root planing procedure that same day. The urgency they created and the large amount they wanted to charge me made me quite cautious. I did consent to begin the process to repair the tooth temporarily and paid about $400 for a plate that would be used to hold a temporary tooth in place. I did some research and found I could fly to San Diego, drive across the border, enjoy a week of vacation, and get a dental implant for about one half what Modern Dental wanted to charge me for a bridge. And I could keep my good tooth that Modern Dental wanted to use to anchor the bridge. I sought a second opinion about the broken crown from my former dentist. They felt they could save the tooth and build a new crown on it. I gave up the trip to Mexico and paid cash, but considerably less than Modern Dental was asking, and am quite happy with the results. My former dentist also did not see a need for deep scaling and planing -- although they encouraged me to do a better job, or that procedure might be in my future. I called Modern Dental and told them I didn't need the plate and that I wanted a refund. They said the office manager would have to call me back, which they never did. I never got my $400 back. In short, this office lacks the expertise to perform complicated procedures that benefit the patient, and is all too eager to intimidate you into paying for expensive work that you likely do not actually need. Too bad I didn't get to go to Mexico though.
