I just so happened to catch one of the chain parts stores just prior to closing; they verified my alternator was bad; and (thank the Lord) had one in stock. The young man at the counter suggested a decent hotel in town, and advised: "Now in the morning, you be at Altman's Tire when they open at 8; they'll take care of you." Sure enough, Altman's owner opened the doors just before 8 a.m. the next morning and had me on the road by 10 a.m. The price charged was cheaper than what I would have been charged back home and I've had zero issues with the work they performed.
