Although I bought my latest vehicle from Edwards Hyundai, that was 2 years ago so I won't do a detailed review of the sales experience. But buying a car was a dealership is never a completely pleasant experience, but our experience at Edwards was easier than most. I have a 2024 Hyundai that came with free maintenance for the first three years, so against my normal practice I've taken it in to the dealership for service. I love that they have a drive in service area, quick check in and a nicer waiting area. Service has been fast and efficient, and I like getting updates on the service progress by text message. I've also taken the vehicle in for a recall notice and was pleased with that experience. I've scheduled all my appointments using the MyHyundai app and like that I can see my entire maintenance history in the app. read more

They sold my mom a car and the transmission went out in less than a year of having it. She was sold a warranty that Connor didn't even know about because he swore the transmission should be covered but he was wrong and only a portion was covered. We were constantly having to reach out to service to get help and updates. We went to the dealership to talk in person and they attempted to get my mom in a NEW car or newer car, including an electric car. They really tried to convince her to go that route and she declined. They ran her credit so many times without her knowing and she received several notices in the mail from creditors after the fact. Eventually, my mom decided to get the car fixed and the warranty covered a portion of the new transmission. We finally were able to get some cost lowered for service. We also attempted to reach general manager and left voicemail and never received a call back. I finally went to the dealership and spoke to him in person and he lowered the price but it was not communicated to Brock because he was unaware when we finally picked up the car. First, I must back up and say that once the new transmission got it, then the car was sent to Ford to get programmed but that was never communicated until then. When we finally picked up the car, no one in service knew of the discount the generally Manager offered and Brock was not friendly at that point. I would NEVER recommend Edwards. read more

FYI my experience might be different from your own so take it as you will. First i dont normally leave a review after only one visit but a car dealership isn't something you are going to often unless you are getting service. My visit was to get my oldest a vehicle, a brand new one, because i dont like to work on them anymore. I had already done my research and knew the exact model i was looking for. Up front service was excellent and not pushy at all. I already knew the budget i wanted to keep my daughter in and when asked about extra protections i pushed back and then they "found a way" to get them to me cheaper anyways haha. My only complaint would be finance because it took quite awhile and im not sure if it was lack of staff or what. Even once in finance they try to sell you more and i did the same push back and still got services cheaper and well within her budget. As far as my setup i did no trade-in so none of that back and forth, my daughter put down a substantial amount of money she saved up and i have excellent credit. So the time frame of getting onsite/test drive and walking out with keys was 10:27am ~ 2:02pm. Not terrible but not great. They got him to trade in his car and sold him a 2025 with 4000 miles for $27,000. With a 6 year loan at 7.32% interest, an 82 year old man with smaill savings and fixed income now owes $34,000! One of the worst car buying experiences EVER is the short version!!! Our sales guy, Tim Martin, was great and did everything he could to work with us on a deal we agreed on. Would buy from him again when management changes!! We told them what we would and could do for our trade-in and the car we were buying. The sales manager Connor something tried to get a few hundred dollars more out of us several times. Then, we finally agreed on a deal and received the purchase agreement and took it to our bank and noticed that they shorted the amount for the trade in by almost $400 to yet get more money out of us. When we spoke to the Connor guy, he came up with excuses why it was wrong and different, even though we gave them the exact payoff amount from the moment we walked in. His attitude and need to feel superior got so bad that he even hung up on us while we tried to work with him on correcting THEIR error on the paperwork. We did end up buying the car and spent extra 400 as we didn't want to start over and really appreciated our sales rep, Tim, who was always up front and honest with us. Being treated like trash by management is a horrible way to do business. Let's not forget that Connor said he would only agree to the deal if we gave him a 5 star review here and posted how great it was to work with him. Well...... he didn't honor our deal we had and acted like his sh*t don't stink. This all could have gone much better had he been honest with the sales rep and us and said from the beginning that he couldn't make the deal due to numbers then we could have agreed on a higher number or walked away. We recently bought a brand-new 2025 Hyundai Palisade Night Edition from Edwards Hyundai. First, the buying experience was very smooth, thanks to the salesman, (Julien Nightser). It was a stress-free and hassle-free experience. However, the only turbulence we encountered was in deciding the interest rate. The sales/finance team explained that Hyundai Financial has its own way of rating and doesn't use all three credit bureaus, which we didn't agree with. Additionally, we were told routine service would not be complimentary every time on my vehicle, but only every other time. I did not appreciate the bait and switch We even wrote a letter to Hyundai USA to get the facts in terms of the interest rate and complimentary service and they responded saying each dealer has his own way of dealing and process. We ended up and understood both parties did not agree to honor. I would not recommend to go Edwards Hyundai. It was a worst experience. read more

I bought one new car here and leased another. In general, I liked the people I was dealing with. Everything went bad, however, when an advertised promotion, which was promised at the point of sale, was cut short by Hyundai corporate, apparently unbeknownst to the dealer. After weeks of assurances by Edwards that the promotion was still active and would be fulfilled, the dealer eventually decided against making good on their earlier promise. I took it to the BBB, hoping they would meet me halfway. Instead, the representative of the dealer lied in order to get out of the BBB complaint, indicating that, from the start, they had told me the promotion was expired, despite sending me emails and numerous verbal assurances that the promotion was indeed ongoing through the rest of the year. For this reason I will never do any unnecessary business at Edwards again and will strongly discourage my friends, family, peers, and you from doing so either. read more

No one at Edwards Hyundai informed me when I purchased my 2023 car in February that they would not be registering my car because I had paid in cash. My salesperson pursued my business for almost two months. In January, he told me Edwards had huge discounts for two reasons. They wanted to make room for their 2024 models, and they were having a grand opening at their new location. The offer I made in February was $2000+ over their discounted price on their website. Why would I offer $2000+ over their asking price if I didn't expect my offer to include more than the purchase price of the car? I have never had to personally register and pay taxes on a new car. I only recently found out my car was not registered, which is almost three months after I purchased it. I reached out to the Edwards finance department to have them give me a call, but no one returned my phone calls. I later asked for a copy of my invoice, and again, no one got back to me. I spoke to a sales manager who was not honest when he told me they didn't have huge discounts on their 2023's after the 1st of the year. I wrote an email to the general manager at Edwards stating I was an unhappy customer and explained why. It's now two weeks later and he hasn't even acknowledged my email. I thought I had gotten a great deal at Edwards, but it ended up being a nightmare and no one from Edwards cares. They got my cash, a lot more than what they were asking for my car, and they were done with me. Besides what I paid Edwards, I ended up paying an additional $2373 to register and license my car. I did so, then I realized that they did not hold their end of the deal I removed it. Second, Connor, the sales manager was HORRIBLE - a total douche bag who has no business being in customer service. Unsettling experience to say the least. I get car dealerships need to make money. But to not even pay off a loan of 21k and list a truck for 29k AFTER they repeatedly said "they won't get more than 23k at auction" multiple times. How are you supposed to trust a car dealership that flat out lies and then lists your vehicle with your own personal stickers on it still? They also told us we didn't need a front license plate bracket in Iowa... when indeed we do it's the law to have both... haven't heard from them in over a week to get the front license plate bracket on. read more

I was very unimpressed with my situation with Edwards. I was traveling and I had a check engine code pop up. I got the code and was advised to go to Edwards and get this fix situated so I could continue on my trip. I told Edwards the engine code. I also told them that I discovered no oil in my engine and that I put in a few quarts to get me to their location. I was then told all I needed was an oil change. Even though I just had an oil change 3000 miles prior. Then I was told I had to pay $175 for oil cleanup from when I put in oil and spilled on the engine cover. This was an unnecessary charge that could have been explained as such, instead they said it was necessary. This really felt like an example of being taken advantage of while on a trip, with no other choice than to do and pay for what they asked. All in all...I spent $500 on an oil change. I do not recommend. Thank you to Edwards for following up with me on my recent car issues. They were able to give me more description on the issues at hand and that there was some confusion on the initial charges. read more

Edwards Hyundai was the absolute worst car buying experience of my life. When I got my new car I should have been excited but instead I got home, parked my new car and wanted nothing to do with it. When I first walked into the dealership I was greeted by a great amazing salesman. I tried to get in contact with that sales person but instead I got Josh who didn't care to find out the first person I worked with. Josh was not very friendly and it seemed like he was miserable to work there. I previously wrote a bad review because I put a deposit down and they changed the deal. I did everything over text messaging so I had records and I was really irritated because the car I wanted was previously "sold" with no answer from Josh for days. I spoke with Raymond ( customer experience manager )\Josh who said they would do the deal but wanted my negative review taken down at which point I was happy. I got to the dealership and it was the worst hour and a half of my life. Josh again was unfriendly...no casual talk so it was silent the whole time while he gathered documents. Next we go to the finance office and I worked with Connor. I would say he was the worst experience at the dealership. The guy was so hot and cold. He complained about my cashiers check I used to pay for the car, he was also upset I didn't sign blank power of attorney documents, then proceeded to give me a pissy pep talk about the new car survey and he HAD to know on the spot how I was going to grade them. He was very hot and cold.. happy and pleasant when he was trying to sell me something. Honestly if I didn't have the experience with Connor that I did I probably wouldn't be writing this review. After the eternity in the finance office I got to see my new car. Didn't see anything from the sales guy Josh at the end.. no thank you for your business....Do you need anything else... just a wave from far away. The car had a scratch on it which the lot porter guy had to get someone so it could be arranged to have it buffed out. The last thing is I had to take my car in last week because they mounted the license plate incorrectly blocking the front radar costing me gas and my time. No apology from anyone on that either. So I purchased my Acura 2013 two years ago, and put 7000 down on the loan per their requirements for a older car, then, two years later, It went into repo and then, Rich Edwards had called Westlake Financial about my loan, and where the car was, in order for it to be repo, he as well left me a nice classy facebook message stating how, he owned Edwards, and how i would never get a car from anyone else and he would make certain of it, and as well, called me a meth head, and he does not own this auto group, Dave Edwards does, and should handle this situation, as Westlake Financial over charged late fees, by 120 bucks when my contract states 20 bucks, and now after only 2000 left on the loan, they want to charge 3000 on top, of the 2000, for repos fees and are breaking state laws. If you are excited to buy a new car I would suggest going someplace else since Edward's Hyundai will suck that excitement out of you. I bought a new 2024 Santa Fe at Edwards. Callie, the salesperson was great. But that is where the greatness ends. I was actually allowed to drive off the lot in an illegal car. Iowa law states a car has to have a license plate holder in the front and back. My car only had one in the back. I was told the new car sales manager had walked around the car twice. He never noticed this error and I was allowed to drive off the lot, drive around for several days until a police officer told me I was illegal. I came back to talk with the general manager but he was too gutless to come and see me. He sent out the used car manager to handle the issue. To my surprise no one at the dealership knew it was against the law. My car also had a paint run on the back door. Again I had to find this and point it out. They told me it would take months to have the warranty repair it. Really? I was very disappointed in their response and their attention to detail. They will call you all the time BEFORE you buy and then treat you like a second class citizen after the sale. My advice is go to another dealership. They only care about the sale. We had an awful experience with Edwards Hyundai, and we won't consider going back. We purchased a used Sonata in May 2024. It felt like we were being misled from the start - we had a scheduled appointment to look at a car which was no longer available, and then convinced to look at another car. It was outside of our price range, but salesperson Todd Roberts guaranteed he could match it. When the time came to purchase, he wouldn't meet the price. After being pressured, we did buy it. We dealt with a lot of hassle to get it registered in Nebraska. We were under the impression this was a Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned car. Come to find out 10 months later that it was only Edwards Certified and it has since expired. We are now faced with a $2k expense for a faulty air bag system which we have to fix and Edwards is basically saying it's our problem. The whole thing has been shady, deceitful and misleading. I don't trust Edwards and will not give them my business. (And am happy to spread the news with whomever asks.) read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH EDWARDS HYUNDAI I was hesitant to work with this dealership after reading dozens of negative reviews on Yelp, however, they were the only place in Iowa that had my preferred color in stock. I decided to take my chances - big mistake. As I live 2 hours away, the sales rep offered to deliver the car to me, however, I expressed reservation out of concern that the car may have some flaw. He informed me that there had been some hail storms in the area and that he would check to make sure the car was OK. Calling back, he verified that the car had no hail damage. Still not comfortable with a delivery, I decided to drive to the dealership to see the car. It wasn't until after we signed the paperwork that my wife then noticed several spots of hail damage. Had the car been properly cleaned in the first place, we may have noticed the damage before signing (minor damage, but still noticeable). I paid for a new car and I expect an undamaged new car. I talked to the manager (Jason) a couple days later. He was argumentative and completely unsympathetic to my situation. At one point, he stated "I don't know what you hoped to accomplish with this phone call." Well Jason, I had hoped that you would actually care about your customer who just spent a lot of money on a new car and make things right. It was never disclosed to me that the car had hail damage. Jason tried arguing that I signed a document stating that I acknowledged that there "may be hail damage." If the dealership had integrity, they would have been much more up front about the damage and not rely on waiting until document signing to slip in statement on possible hail damage that I need to sign. Had I been aware of the damage, I wouldn't have signed. There is a good way to avoid shady tactics such as these: avoid this dealership and take your business elsewhere. read more

I am totally disgusted with my service department. I purchased an $80,000 car. Been complaining about my cars alignment for months, only to be told that my car was perfect. At 19,000 miles I had to spend $1200 for new tires, meanwhile I bought this car brand new. Spent 4 hours at the dealership yesterday and 3 hours today. 2 different edwards stores did wheel alignments on my car. After picking my car up from their Chevy store it was noticed that an asswipe from service got greasy fingerprints on my suede headliner. Yesterday the dingbat from service drove my car through their crappy car wash with the window open and my interior was soaked. After all of this when asked what we can do to fix my car I was told "just bring it somewhere else, and we will pay for it" mind you this is the 7th brand new car I have purchased from Edwards Auto Group. As you can image I've changed my service store to Woodhoue, and they were all to happy to have my business. I won't buy another car or service another car at Edwards ever again. read more

This places look nice in the new building but it like a polished turd at the end of the day is still poop. Took my car in to fix a flat tire. They end up breaking the tire sensor and messing up my car's alignment. Took over 2.5 hours with my waiting at the store with no updates to fix the flat. They said they would fix the sensor and alignment a month and half and 4 tries later it was still not fixed. Still not sure how you mess up a car alignment while fixing a tire, but somehow they did. Every time I took it in there was zero communication. I could not get any updates, would ignore my phone calls. I would set an appointment for one day then wouldn't look at the car for a couple days and never notified me of the delay. Had to call the GM or show up in person to get any updates and wouldn't tell me when parts arrived. When I came in to pick my car up multiple times it took them over 45 minutes to find my keys and/or my car. Also witnessed employees cussing out their boss. My recommendations is avoid this place unless you want to be disappointed. read more

I recently leased a car from Edwards Hyundai and it was a generally good experience. They didn't have the exact model in stock so I test drove a car that was very similar and I liked it so we did the deal. They said the car would be in on Wednesday at the latest. They called me and said that it would be in by the weekend. I called Edwards and they said by mid next week. I called Edwards again and they said that the shipping company is backed up and it would be in by the weekend. No car. I called again and asked for a courtesy car, (I had an offer on my current vehicle at the time and needed to sell it), and they told me they would take care of me, which they did. The car eventually came in two and a half weeks after I initially signed the papers. This isn't generally Edwards' fault BUT they need to manage a customer's expectations a lot better. Just send a driver to where the car was initially, (I forwent that so it could be shipped here and save some miles on the brand new car), or hire a different shipping company. Edwards made it right with getting me a rebate and setting me up with a sweet courtesy vehicle for a hew days, but still, that's a long time to wait for a car that I could have driven to and got it back in a day. Due to their really good prices on vehicles and their location, I will continue to go back to Edwards. read more

I purchased my car on 9/11, and it was a certified pre-owned vehicle. I was an employee and could not leave a negative review prior to now because I could be terminated for doing so! The very first day of having the vehicle.. my passenger rear tire pressure sensor was going off with low pressure. It needed a patch as the tire had a nail in it.. which I told the sales person that the gauge was going off when I looked at the car (2019 Nissan kicks) they repaired that. I then like 2 days later noticed that my transmission appeared to be slipping between 3-4th gear. I brought it up to my sales person and had him drive it. He said oh that is normal.. it is a CVT engine..at that time also my GM said the same thing. Mind you I worked with these guys everyday so I believed them! Fast forward to a few weeks later and it is still doing it and it just felt off! So I went to the Nissan store and asked that they ride in the car with me just to make sure. So Scott the parts manager took a ride with me. As soon as it shifted between 3-4 gear.. he said ohhhh no, that isn't not normal! Guess who needed a new transmission! Yup! Then when they were doing the transmission they noticed a leak from my engine.. welp they had to seal that and my warranty didn't cover it so I had to pay 217.00 for it. When I asked for a copy of the certification of the vehicle the service agent asked how many miles were on it which I replied 36k and she said.. oh then they likely didn't even do an inspection.. which I believe considering I bought a car that had a bad transmission and a leak.. and a nail in the tire.. don't get me started on the cleaning of the car.. or lack of it! I asked many times if my fee for the leak would be covered.. even text the GM and was ignored. So if you are a customer.. know that even employees aren't treated any better.. unfortunately. I do want to mention those that really did help me! First Carl Erwin helped me a ton with the finance side.. JO Magbanua what my actual finance guy and he is always a pleasure to work with! My partner leased a car here recently. It is crazy. They never return calls or e-mails - not the sales guy, not the general manager, etc. Then they lie. I'd actually put their names in here but they are all pretty forgettable. Zero customer service skills. In the end, he likes the car so that's what matters. I will say, though, that during the process we did swing by Woodhouse. They know what customer service is. We should have leased from them but they didn't quite have what we were looking for. Not to mention when we called Edwards out... their phones were down... then email was down... like Council Bluffs is some 3rd world country. Embarrassed for them. I had to finance $16,000 but instead they ran a loan for $27,000 after adding on a ton of extras that I told them NOT TO DO. They spoke with a silver tongue and frauded us. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! Bought a car here. Took hours but that is like most places that want to wear you down so you sign anything to get out of there. But I bought a car here late one evening and stayed till close. I brought it home and my wife hated it. Mainly that it was two doors and we wanted more of a family car. So I brought it back the next morning and asked if I could get a four door instead. They said brushed me off and said they think my paperwork is finished already but they would look and give me a call. Well they never did so I called them several times to the point where they stopped answering their phone. So I drove down there and they offered to put me in a Sonata that was their loaner car so it had high mileage but they could keep the same payment amount. So we spent all day there again signed the papers and when I was home I noticed a hidden $5000 charge for the old car being returned. So my base model Sonata was upside down from the moment I drove it off the lot. These guys are crooks!!!!! read more

Edwards Hyundai - Car Dealers Near Me - Council Bluffs, Iowa

I went to this dealership for a test drive of a Hyundai Santa Fe that I clicked on a link on the Hyundai USA website for offering $50.00 for a test drive. I met with Alex (402-216-9887) and he showed me a great vehicle. I reviewed my finances when they showed me the financing and decided to wait until a later date to possibly get a new car. I tried to redeem the $50.00 reward and Alex said his Internet Manager was out of town and would approve it when he got back. A couple weeks went by and nothing was issued to me so I texted Alex back and asked him what was up. He said he would talk with the Internet Manager and get it approved. I gave him the code again. Nothing again for weeks. I finally reached out again and asked what was up and Alex told me that they were not going to honor the gift card and that their facility did not participate in the program that Hyundai USA clearly showed they were still a part of when I looked. I called Hyundai USA customer service twice now and still have never gotten the gift card. I was told by Alex that he would be glad to take $50.00 off a vehicle purchase if I was so concerned about the $50.00. What it boils down to is that they try to get you to come in and make a sale. I didn't want to be car poor and was making a financially sound decision by refusing to buy a car at that time. Alex gave many rebuttals to get me into a car that I clearly could not afford as I reviewed my own finances and know what I can and cannot afford. What upsets me even more and is making me post this on all the review websites is that the dealership would rather have bad press than to HONOR a gift card for what I clearly signed up for per Corporate and was told the dealership would honor and they backed out of paying it completely. I still to this day have not received my $50.00 visa giftcard. read more

We stayed in Council Bluffs a few days ago during a Midwest road trip. In the morning as we headed to the freeway we realized there was a big piece of wire stuck in one of our Subaru's back tires. We heard it because there was a two inch label on the wire and as we drove it made a racket. It looked like something that would have come off a semi truck's payload. Fearing we'd get a flat tire if we just pulled it out; we looked up the nearest Subaru dealership and headed over to Edward's to get it fixed proper. When we pulled into the Edward's service area, we were greeted by a friendly employee, and after taking down our information they escorted us to the waiting room and got to work. Turns out the wire punctured all the way trough the tire. But thankfully they were able to plug and repair it. They also washed and vacuumed my Subaru. And the best part? Edward's did all this for no cost and got us back and on the road! Great people and great service. Thanks Edward's! read more

Purchased a vehicle and enjoyed it, the salesman was kind and all but it got wicked once the sales manager showed up into the room. Offered 21k on a vehicle that was marked 26k. He agreed but kept offering service deals and packages, the typical "under the table" fees. When I kept telling the sales manager I didn't want any of the packages they offered he kept saying "I'll be right back lemme do some numbers." Comes back three more times because he keeps trying to slip in detail, warranty, or maintenance packages and I notice. This man was trying to leave me with 55k worth of loans after all the math had been done for what he tried to market me. My car loan is still 34k after paying on it since January. I wouldn't ever buy a car from here again, it seems really slimy and all there vehicles are market up astronomically. (I did up still paying 26k for the car he didn't even mark it down as agreed) Mind you they called me for two weeks saying "hey can you come in and put 1000$ down on the vehicle?" Finally I went in and had paid it, they call me two weeks after that "do you have time to stop in and discuss any further on your purchase." I asked for what he wanted and he said "we can talk about it when you get here." I never went back in and asked what it was about and the calls stopped. Since then I've been looking to trading my vehicle in for what I'd actually like since there wasn't what I was looking for available at the time. New sales reps out at Copple say "why is your loan so high? How did you break that 120% mark of the cars worth." I told him I wasn't sure how that had happened but it keeps crippling me to pursue other avenues for vehicles. He said they had to of put other packages on your purchase you aren't aware of. So in my current endeavors the sales rep for the car I'm looking at has told me "find those papers they filed for you and maybe we can get you some money refunded off your loan." He further said "this just seems like way too much for you to be paying off, so let's see if we can help you. I had been a customer of Edwards for over 14 years, and my family, & I have bought over 11 cars with them. This last experience was horrible. We bought a 2017 Chevy Silverado from them and were told since the finance paperwork was messed up they would make it right and then we were told later this person couldn't do it. I was contacted by the manager and he was supposed to call me back on Monday and here it is Saturday no call. I left him 2 messages on Friday and still no return. I will have to say that this company has gone downhill over the last few years. I will never buy from Edwards again! The service department is just as bad when it comes to things. I have given Edwards by far too many chances to make things correct. read more

This is my second Subaru purchase in the Midwest. The 1st was at Stan Olsen which was a also a great experience. I am taking the time to write this review because of two of the staff members. Andrea was a fantastic sales woman. She was honest and forthcoming which IMO are not always common in auto sales. Butch the "warranty guy" was funny, honest and understand. He let me know what my options were but because I was leasing understood that all the "extras" were just that and not really applicable. I may be back for the floor mats though! I also spoke with Todd Edwards who was very pleasant as well. I agree with the 1st poster that there is a serious lack of information when it comes to the vehicle registration process when you live in Omaha. Andrea answered my questions (basically do it yourself) by for a dealer that advertises in the Omaha area so much I thought they would have been more helpful. Overall I am super happy with my experience and would recommend ANDREA at Edwards Subaru. read more
