By ALL MEANS, do NOT take your animals here. I am going to come back to this review and type the entire story when I have time to cool down and can provide the entire truth of our experience. This comes from a 25+ year family of customers of this practice. Sad that it has to end this way. ZERO customer service. Secret charges, even when I asked three staff members to provide ALL costs of the visit up front. I wish I had the phone recording to provide as well, as I was told "Dr. Loftus is far too busy to call you on the phone to discuss your concern." And the best part? They just called my wife to fire us as customers solely because I emailed Dr. Loftus too many times (4 in 10 days) requesting a phone conversation. Upon mentioning this on the phone today, we were met with "uhh, do you ever get to just call a Doctor on the phone whenever you want?". NO, lady, I don't whenever I want - I'm not entitled. But you know what I AM entitled to? A call back at the Doctor's convenience to discuss a few things that were not discussed nor mentioned during the check up exam that I was not told was taking place nor being charged for. A consultation in which the "Doctor" stared at the ceiling and listened to half of what I said, yet didn't give any advice or care to take any action on the current issues our dog is (still) experiencing. The majority of the talk was 'wow, she's still alive and healthy, I remember when she was little, etc.' And not until sharing frustration after the visit, and being told she was too busy to call me, she finally replied to one email with an exam report (that wasn't discussed or shared in person) that showed recommendations not discussed in person, and false claims that she had already reviewed various items with me. What a scam. Own up to making mistakes and falling short (in multiple areas for one single visit) and do your LONG term customers right. Or continue to hide behind your desk staff who know absolutely nothing, and seem to only make excuses and/or point the finger right back. I'll be back for the full write up soon. In the meantime, beware! I only post 100% truthful reviews - and share only the very best and the very worst. Great vet and great care for all of my pets for years! Dr Loftus has treated our cats, dogs, and horses for everything from yearly vaccinations, chronic conditions, and major life saving emergencies. She saved 2 of my dogs by performing life saving surgery on them in the middle of the night. We love her to say the least! read more

Dr. Lotus and her staff are excellent. They're very caring and never rush me even if it's not of seriously important information. Dr. Lotus's skills are excellent and she's so caring and understanding. She took care of my Saint Bernard, Mindy and now my cats Mikey and Dolly. Mikey just had 9 teeth extracted and she was great. I've been bringing my cats here since 2013. Dr Loftus and her staff have been great with my cats and patient with me for being an overbearing cat mom. Now the cats do not always look forward to going, but they are much better after they are seen and treated. The staff even gives follow-up calls to check up on their furry patients. read more

Please do not leave your dogs at Edwardsville Animal Clinic under any circumstance! Under the care of Dr. Loftus my dog was neglectfully left outdoors alone overnight. No one told me they were abandoning my dog and leaving her in danger of being hit by a car. I was out of town and frantically calling the emergency number provided to me. My calls were never answered and I was totally ignored. It has now been three days since this event and Dr. Loftus has not bothered to call me or contact me in any way. My dog is family to me and this was my worst nightmare come true. read more

I called on a Saturday morning because my miniature Schnauzer, Cooper was very ill and in much pain with a distended belly. Poor guy had full blown pancreatitis which miniature Schnauzers are very prone to. They receptionist told me they didn't have any appointments available but to head that way now and they would work him in. Needless to say, we didn't wait to be seen. After four days and nights in the hospital Cooper had his ups and downs with his life hanging by a thread. Dr. Loftus thought it best for me to bring him home to recover after the 3rd day. She text me the next morning that Cooper had a set back and was vomiting again and not eating. So, she kept him another night to monitor him. Tears flow down my cheeks as I say "Cooper means the world to me!" He was a rescue that was abused and would not make eye contact and sat in the corner for weeks before he even though about trusting anyone. He has came so far and is the best dog I have ever had. Dr. Loftus texted me during the evenings after hours to update me on Cooper and a couple times during the day. She asked that I didn't come to get him until she was out of surgery, because she wanted to talk to me. She was very patient and and went over EVERYTHING with me and exactly what meds he needed and what they were for. Dr. Loftus is a DVM but more so like talking to a friend! She answered so many questions and questions that didn't even pertain to Coopers pancreatitis but just Schnauzers in general. She was in no hurry and was just a pleasure to talk to. Just to see the smile on her face when he wagged his tail when I came in, was priceless and shows her true love for animals. All of her staff are top notch and called Cooper by his name when we were leaving. Cooper has been home 19 hours now, and not out of the woods yet. He has a long recovery ahead of him, but I will do ANYTHING IT TAKES! All that I can honestly say is Dr. Loftus.... YOU are my hero! THANK YOU from the bottom of my . Cooper is resting, drinking and going for short walks. Hopefully we caught it in time and praying he makes a full recovery. This is now in Gods hands, but thank God for Dr. Loftus as she did everything above and beyond what she could as a doctor. Please pray for Cooper! read more

Short version: Picked up Elly 7/27, died 8/18 due to IMHA, an auto immune disease acquired from being given DHPP on 7/17, this clinic promotes annual DHPP and requires it for boarding, Board of Animal Health recommends once every 3 years. This was Elly's 10th DHPP vaccine from this office, Elly was 11 years old. This clinic is constantly pushing every vaccine available. If I can save one dog from this place, our Elly will not have died in vain. For the safety of your pet, go elsewhere!! read more
