I have a giant, fluffy english cream golden retriever. She's large and in-charge but her grooming is difficult to manage. In addition to the dog fur party, she's nervous around anything that makes an electronic noise so forget clippers, hair dryers, etc and definitely forget about letting dog-parents cut her nails. We had searched and attempted tons of groomers....and then a we got some recommendations to try Just for Pets. What I wish is that we went there sooner. The groomers are kind and knowledgable, they discuss techniques and inform of issues if spotted. My dog comes out with a bandana some of the time, which is cute as can be. (I get it, the circumference of her neck is on the bigger side!) But even without some accessorizing, my dog looks great after grooming. The prices are on par with the area. And let me tell you, we live on the East End of Louisville. We drive 30 mins to get Gypsy groomed here. Worth the drive. read more

Even tho it's been a little over 2 weeks, I'm still upset with "Just For Pets" so I'll keep this review as short, and gracious, as possible. Reception: Not particularly inviting. Grooming: The last 2 times our dog has been here they've injured our pup. (Never happened anywhere else.) They also scissor trimmed off one of our dog's natural features even tho I told them not to. Boarding: Lots of red flags here, but the worst was our dog smelled absolutely revolting from bacteria which indicated our pup was either stressed out during the stay or the facilities weren't clean. read more

Great experience! My dog Harold received a 5 hour spa day that he absolutely did not fully appreciate. He went in shaggy, long-nailed, a little stinky and dumb. He left well groomed, nails tidily trimmed, washed, perfumed and dumb. All in all, money well spent! read more

This is a review near and dear to me because we have 3 dogs. I left my German Shepherd and Lab with Just For Pets recently. As much as we love our dogs, they have often been a hindrance to traveling too much because of my worry for their care. Just For Pets was a real blessing at just the right time, because now we have a trusted kennel for our fur family. It came at an unfortunate time when I had to leave out of town for a week due to a death in the family. I toured the kennel beforehand and really loved the area they had for the dogs to run. It's a really cool facility. What made it really comforting to me was knowing our dogs would be taken out 4 times a day, there was camera monitoring, and the owner lived close by the kennel. The proximity to my house was icing on the cake as well. The staff were great and really put me at ease that my dogs would be treated well. I cannot say enough about how grateful I am to the staff here. I HIGHLY recommend them! read more

I've reviewed JFP in the past, best grooming in southern Indiana. Boarding is available, the staff are great. I would recommend calling to schedule appointments, I'm not sure if they are accepting new clients, that happens when you are great at what you are doing. This place is absolutely amazing! I have been to other grooming and boarding places with my fur babies and this place is by far the best. The women there treat my babies like their own. I have been to other places that smell like dirty dog. This place always smells clean. My babies always come home happy, clean, and beautiful. When I leave them while I am away I know they are in great hands. They never seem stressed or nervous. I ask them if the are ready to go see their friends at Just For Pets and they get so excited. i have always had good results boarding my dog until recently. when I picked up my dog, he had lost 5 pounds and was a filthy mess, he was so dirty that just lightly petting him covered my hands in dirt. Additionally he was very nervous and he was sick. they reported he was nervous the first couple of days, but then was ok. How then did he lose weight, and no leftover food when extra was sent? The worst thing was he was sick and traumatized. vomiting blood, then regular vomiting and diarrhea. I spent over $800 in vet bills and it took over two weeks before he was well. Our dog is a large breed, 15 years old and very skittish. Getting her nails trimmed has always been a nightmare. This place was very friendly and offers walk-in appointments for nail trimming. What you need to know about Just For Pets is that we LOVE Just For Pets. Our Shih Tzu LOVES Just For Pets. The staff is very kind and the grooming is really top notch. They are open to special grooming instructions and are happy to let your pet hangout (within reason) until a convenient pick-up time. We have also utilized Just For Pets' boarding services and were equally pleased. I cannot imagine taking our Shih Tzu anywhere else. i've taken my dog here for a little while and every time it continues to get harder to watch. She will shake, put herself in a tiny ball under the driver seat and will pee herself going in. Mind you, she doesn't do this going in anywhere else, not even when she goes to the vet where she gets shots. Also, I had trouble getting her inside once and the staff could obviously see me struggling (with an acl brace on my leg too) and did not help at all. I have yet to speak with a friendly person there and someone that is welcoming. Would recommend not taking your animal there because whatever is going on when I leave is not good. read more

"Alright guys, let's go to the kennel. Let's go see Vicki." That is all I have to say and the dogs are out the back door and waiting at the back of the truck. I guess they see their stay at Just for Pets as much as a vacation as we do our own vacation. I think our dogs must be treated like royalty there. Every time we drop them off, Vicki is there and greets them with "Hello, Sammy and Max." Our dogs are usually kenneled together in the same run, so they are not separated. The backyard is fenced, so the dogs can go outside throughout the day. During the day sometimes the dogs are let loose to roam around the grooming areas of the kennel. Heck, why wouldn't they look at this as a vacation. Just for pets also offers numerous grooming services. Our dogs are so big though, we rarely (only once) use the grooming services. They get the backyard bath with the hose most of the time. Although we do have them trim their nails for us. For a mere $8, they will trim them for you. Well worth it for us versus wrestling a 100 lb lab mix. Whenever we are going on a vacation and have reservations for them to stay there or we are in a pinch and need to find somewhere for them to stay, Just for Pets gets them in every time. Having tried other kennels before this and to see the care that our dogs received just in the minutes when we picked them up, I wouldn't trust anyone with our dogs except Just for Pets. read more

I love taking my dogs here. It is sometimes hard to get in but that could be because I'm such a procrastinator and my poodles hair is already very unruly before I call to get an appointment and have to wait a couple weeks. They staff is always very nice and they really seem to love the animals left in their care. One of my dogs is 5lbs and deaf and have had some issues in the past with other groomers where I felt that maybe they had mistreated my pup somehow. She was not herself when they were done and shook for quite a while afterwards. I feel very comfortable leaving both of my dogs in the care with the staff at Just for Pets. I also love that they have a glass door and u can watch them grooming. read more

Just for Pets is definitely as good as it gets! We have been taking our Yorkie to get groomed here since we moved back to the area. They always do a fabulous job! This place is as good as it gets. They go way beyond what they need to do. Really exception care when a pet needs attention. Over the years they have groomed our big shedding labradoodle many times and we have boarded our dogs and cats with them during many vacations. They always come home happy and healthy. Recently we had to leave town and had no choice about boarding our very old and ill cat with them. We knew, and I told them, that he might not survive until we returned. A few days later they called and told me he was dead. Let me stress that this was not in any way due to their neglect. They took him to our home, buried him under the tree I told them to, called me from the site to tell me he was buried and a few words said over him!! And, when I said I would make it right when we got home, the reply was, "You can't pay me for doing this!" I could not recommend them more highly. They really care. read more
