    Open house
    Shelby Q.

Took my friends to open house, the manager at this site never recognize my guess. She was so busy dancing and socializing with her friends, that's not good for the company .I took several people to join however they preferred to visit Taylor Bend. Also even though it was open house no one asked if they where members or intererested in becoming a member ,so after the affair we went to the Western Branch location. They joined and received there membership packets and cards. We did speak with Ms. Jackie and she was very welcoming. The manager was so busy dancing and entertaining her friend these members said they will not be returning to this site. I was very disappointed because I really enjoy visiting different locations

5 stars why not? 1st off great experience when you go to the pool on a Saturday afternoon and there are not only any kids running around unattended, there are no kids at all. Lol, the lifeguards could give my kids private lessons for the next hour and a half. We could have our own private pool party. Quick RSVP and get over here ASAP! Pros and cons of no other kids. My kids have to play with each other or fight with each other. The front desk lady and lifeguard let me know that the weekends are the best time to avoid the crowds at the pool. I know our home pool is most definitely packed. This pool does not have any bells or whistles like the other pools we have visited. No slide or spray park. No bbq area as some of the other Y's have as well. We changed in the locker room then walked through the hallways past front desk to the outside pool. I did see their are bathrooms (and maybe changing rooms) and showers. The locker room was smaller and they have a co-ed steam room. A nice park bench in the locker room to take a break on. This Y seems clean just smaller and definitely arranged differently than others I have visited. Membership does have its benefits. Which Y is best? Who has the best outdoor pool? Depends on what your looking for. Quiet and personal is nice though. My kids could have brought all their bath toys and we wouldn't of had to worry about sharing them.

Current schedule, or classes for November.

It has been more than a minute since I was here last, and maybe there Was a Reason. Today's Yoga group with Mrs. Ruth was a nice return experience, until Zumba Bulldozed in. Carry over or not. Where is the Professional Courtesy? NOT HOT

    Beach balls! How cute :-)

Great Staff!!!! Though a small gym there is never a huge crowd and I have almost always had instant access to the equipment I needed to use on any given day. The staff maintains the gym very well and there has been no issues in regards to faulty equipment and/or gym facilities. I also used my two free personal training sessions since joining..... my goal was to remind myself how to safely do dead lifts and squats as I had not done them in 15 years and seemed to forget how to do the exercises without killing my lower back...... the personal trainer easily accommodated my request and answered all of my questions as well as introducing me to some good ways to stretch and prepare my legs to to squats and dead lifts. All in all a good gym well worth the monthly fee........ I highly recommend it.

I was terminated due to the fact I asked the music to be lowered. Could hear what I was listening to through headphones. He could have handled this topic differently. I am shocked. Lots of members talking 6-8 feet from each other. I didn't care to hear their conversations. I went there because it was convenient, but the YMCA has 6 floors, a huge pool, NO MUSIC OR LOUD PEOPLE.

I happen to be partial to Alex (my amazing trainer) but everyone of the trainers and staff are extremely warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. I was impressed to learn there are no "beginner" trainers here. They each have a background in fitness and are experienced and educated in their field. They take clients at all ages and levels of fitness, but if you're just starting out, like me, this is the place to come. There is absolutely no judgement or reason to be self conscious. They take you "as is" and are eager to craft a personalized workout, according to your goals, history, abilities and any health concerns your dealing with. They take the time to understand your unique needs and abilities. I love how Alex is able to explain the mechanics of a movement and that he's very focused on correct form, in order to get the most out of an exercise and avoid injury. He makes my workouts challenging, but also reigns me in when I get too eager to take on more than I'm ready for. Another plus that impressed me is the effort they make to take care of clients practical needs- showers, towels, soaps, shampoo, etc. They've even offered a stretch lab and a sound bath experience since I've been here, free to clients, both of which I really enjoyed. This is certainly not your run of the mill, box gym. The pricing is extremely reasonable for the quality of personalized attention, the well appointed equipment, clean space and the amenities you receive. I have had an amazing experience at Ghent Fit and would highly recommend it! - Stephie

Alex is a master of adaptation--he tailors every session to my energy, sleep levels, and physical capability ensuring I get an effective workout even on my toughest days. All of the equipment must be new and there are several units each machine so you never have to wait too long. The staff have been able to handle any of my requests/inquiries, which have mostly been about billing so far. In general, it is a well run comfortable gym. On the downside, there is no bench press and they don't allow benches under the squat racks- so if you want to bench it needs to be on a smith machine. I was really disappointed about that, since I was just starting to feel comfortable benching again from my old gym and I won't be able to practice the real deal. Also the dumbbells only go up to 60lbs. And this isn't their fault but just beware there is an annual fee on the $20 no commitment plan so you are technically paying more than $20/month on that plan. The last thing I'll say against this place is that it's somewhat dim inside (even a staff member agreed) and I like a lot of light but that comes out to 5 stars in my book, really no major issues with this planet fitness. Edit (18JUN'25): 75lbs not 60.
