if you're into Indian food and like a little twist on flavors, come to alcoholic and they'll treat you to what it's like to have Indian street food. The service is great and they are very nice. Since opening, they have expanded their dining area to accommodate for more people to eat at their establishment. Don't get too wrapped up in the name alcoholic because I'll be at the do you have a lot of egg dishes they also have dishes without any egg. Their wraps are amazing and very tasty. If you're not used to spice get the less spicy option as many of their dishes are extremely spicy. They also have monthly specials. June 2025 their specials are seven dollar for any sandwich. Very nice addition to the neighborhood.

I've been to Eggholic quite a few times before and have always liked their sandwiches and Indian street food--it's usually pretty decent. But this last visit really threw me off. I went with my grandparents during lunch and we got the lunch special, which honestly is a pretty great deal for the price. You get rice, yogurt, two entrées, and dessert--it's a lot of food for what you pay. But sadly, the food this time just wasn't it. The entrées tasted like they were overloaded with Indian spices--like it wasn't balanced, just way too much seasoning. And the service? Definitely not great. Maybe it was because of the big rush going on, but it felt really chaotic, and we were left waiting for a while. My family likes this place a lot, and I've had better experiences here in the past, so I'll probably give it another chance. But if you're thinking about the lunch special, just know the price is awesome, but the food during lunch might not always match up to it.

It was my first time at EggHolic. We stopped by on a weekend during lunch time and so glad we did because the food was amazing! They were a bit busy, but the food still came out in a decent timeframe. Order: I've always wanted to try an Indian-style sandwich for a while now and this paneer masala sandwich hit the spot. It was beyond delicious!! No need for the ketchup packets but would like more mayonnaise on it next time. Dahi puri was full of flavor and just delicious! The paneer tikka wrap was an 8/10 for me because I like a little crunch inside so raw onions would have been nice. Overall the food was amazing and the customer service was great. Definitely recommend this place!

I visited eggholic in Niles and I ordered the chatpata chicken sandwich. It came with a pack of Lays chips and a soda. I got a can of Sprite. I also ordered samosa for an appetizer. I enjoyed my food. It was well prepared. Even though it had three breads, I thought the sandwich was light, which was perfect for me. The reason for the three stars is because of the lack of service. This was my first time in and we weren't greeted, and when we tried to ask questions about the menu, the server was very nonchalant and didn't answer and just looked like we should know what we wanted. It's a very simply decorated space with a few tables for dine in.

Really liked Rggholic. I think of it like a brunch place since the egg focus and the name, but it became so much more to me. I came in for an early dinner and was impressed. Had the sandwich, tofanni curry and the hum-tum. A good variety of dishes. My kids did detect heat on every dish but they said it was still really yummy. I thought the entrees were more a shareable portion so I think next time I'll come back it'll be with a few more mouths. I think Eggholic has easily made the takeaway night rotation. I need to try the entire menu!

I can't say I have ever had Tikka massalla in sandwich form, but I'm glad I did. It was a great way to try one of my favorite flavored dishes. The bread was well toasted, and the flavors mixed quite well. There are plenty of other options on the menu, and most have eggs in the dish, which is a plus me since I love eggs. The mango Lassi was smooth and had a strong and fresh mango taste. Service here is friendly, and they were eager to make sure the food was satisfactory. The interior is spacious enough and fits the establishment and food. Needless to say, I'll be back for sure to try more of their menu. Nothing was wrong with my experience whatsoever, and I recommend giving them a try.

I had been to the EggHolic restaurant in Schaumburg some years ago, but this was my first time checking out EggHolic - Niles. I was hungry just enough to have a small item, so I was not interested in a big meal. EggHolic specializes in Indian style eggs based street food dishes from the region of Gujarat state. You can get a nice variety of spicy (or non spicy) and flavorful egg dishes here. I ordered their Anda (Hindi word for egg) Masala sandwich. It is made with mashed boiled eggs; veggies like tomatoes, onions, green chilies, and spices (masala) like cumin powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, in a thick buttered bread slices which is then toasted to perfection after the sandwich is built. The sandwich was thick and filling. It came with a side of potato chips and some ketchup. I liked every bite of it. It was quite tasty and flavorful. It hit the spot for me. This establishment had an inviting environment and a pleasant ambiance. I received good service. The restaurant was clean and had a good amount of seating space. I'll be going back here for sure, and I also recommend it to anyone who likes good, flavorful eggs that are made in Indian style.

It was my first time coming here and I didn't know what to expect. The interior is really simple with ample seating! The mango lassi was so sweet and refreshing 5/5! The food here has a lot of flavor and spice. I would say spice level was 3/5 and flavors were 5/5! I would definitely come again for other dishes!

Eggholic Niles is a nice Indian restaurant with a variety of items on their menu. You can order the curries to your preference of spice - the extra spicy is very hot so I wouldn't order it unless you really enjoy hot food. The toofani curry is a curry made with boiled eggs - it's really good, the paneer cheese masala is also good and really filling. I'd recommend if you want a quick and more unique Indian restaurant to try out.

A fantastic find in the Niles area by Patel Bros grocery store. A group of us came in for lunch on a weekend right when it opened. It was not busy for a good amount of the time we were there, but when we were almost done that is when it started to get busy. We ordered the Surti Gotalo and the Masala half fry both came with 2 rotis. The surti gotalo was a big portion, and had 2 sunny side up eggs on top. The flavors were reminiscent of Indian curries, definitely after eating a lot of it, it was spicy but not initially. The Masala half fry was tasty and very different flavors than what I am used to eating when eating Indian food. The flavors were also quite distinct and this dish was spicer than the surti gotalo. It also had more distinct texture than the surti gotalo. Overall a great place with an Indian street vendor vibe, music playing in the background. I want to go back to try other items on the menu.

After ordering on the app I walked in and was told it would be a 30 minute wait for 2 Chicken Masala wraps and 1 Samosa wrap. Came back at 30 minutes to pick up food. The wraps were cold, and the chicken inside the wrap was dry. Taste of wraps was ok. Worker at the counter was kind of rude. Probably would not go back.

First time trying Indian street food, this was lovely. The menu is a little intimidating, but the online photos helped. Our kids are pretty adventurous, age 10 and 7 could handle the masala sandwich, pan puri, egg wrap, but the green rice dish was too spicy for them. They loved the mango juice boxes and I enjoyed the chai.

    Chicken Butter Masala
    Alwin A.

Food was very subpar. Took my little cousins there and the butter chicken was good. However, the chicken kadai they recommend was not good at all. The chicken was very rubbery. We left most of the food there. The mango lassi was too sweet and I usually like sweet. The roti was fairly good but the portion size was not enough so we ordered supplemental. The pani puri was okay but the dahi puri was a little better.

They have always been consistent with quality and time quoted for pick-ups, which we really appreciate. Our go-to is always a Chicken Dosa and we mix between Spicy Butter Chicken or their Chicken Pepper Fry. Sometimes all three ;) Their chicken dosa just hits the spot every time. The thali had some good stuff and some okay-ish. Some of the items in the thaali were cold and being one of the first few consumers that day I expected everything to be piping hot. The vada was amazing crispy on the outside soft on the inside in short absolute yummmm!! And we washed it all down with a cool glass of Mango Lassi that was the perfect finisher! I ended up just eating the other food we ordered, but it was such a disappointment because this has always been the dish I look forward to. If you want to explore one of the most underrepresented regional cuisines in Chicago's Indian…read moredining scene, Magic Pepper is a place worth discovering. Magic Pepper is a new restaurant in Niles, and while the menu is broad--featuring North Indian dishes, Indo-Chinese items, and even a small kids menu with American staples--the heart of the kitchen is clearly Kerala cuisine from the southern part of India. That's what makes this place special. You can absolutely order familiar Indian dishes here. But the real reason to visit is the Kerala food, which is extremely hard to find done this well anywhere in the Chicago area. The restaurant itself is comfortable and straightforward. Think of the format of a casual sit-down chain restaurant--plenty of seating, relaxed vibe--but operated as a local family-run spot. Everything is clean, friendly, and welcoming, but it's not trying to be a trendy or overly polished dining room. It feels authentic in the best way: a solid neighborhood restaurant focused on good food rather than presentation. Service & Experience * Friendly, welcoming staff * Food is cooked fresh and brought out as it's ready * Expect dishes to arrive at slightly different times, especially with larger orders * Lots of takeout activity--clearly a popular local spot Sharing dishes actually works well here since the table tends to fill up quickly with all the accompaniments. Food We started with a familiar classic: * Samosa - solid and well executed, though this is more of a North Indian staple. Where things really shine is the South Indian and Kerala specialties. * Ghee Roast Dosa - outstanding. Thin, crispy, flaky, and served with all the traditional accompaniments like chutneys and sambar. * Pidiyum & Chicken Curry - a very traditional Kerala dish that's rare to find in Chicago. Comforting, rich, and deeply flavorful. * Malabar Parotta - a highlight. Flaky, layered, almost lacy bread that's incredible when paired with curry. This is something you rarely see outside Kerala-focused restaurants. * Kerala Chicken Curry - perfect with the parotta; deeply spiced without being overwhelming. We also tried some other menu sections: * Street-Style Indo-Chinese Fried Rice - flavorful and well balanced. * Hyderabadi Dum Biryani - served in a small kettle and executed beautifully. The basmati rice was perfectly separated and aromatic with spices. Dessert: * Gulab Jamun - warm, sweet, and a classic way to finish. Drinks One surprise was the cocktail menu. Even though there wasn't a dedicated bartender working constantly, the drinks were very good. * Indian Mojito * Indian Sunset Both had creative flavor twists using Indian ingredients and fresh juices. They took a little time to come out, but they were worth it. Verdict Magic Pepper isn't trying to be a flashy destination restaurant. It's a relaxed neighborhood spot focused on cooking authentic regional food--and that's exactly why it works. What makes it special is the Kerala cuisine, which is extremely difficult to find in the Chicago area at this level. If you're adventurous with food or want to explore beyond the usual butter chicken and tikka masala lineup, this place is absolutely worth seeking out. Come with an open mind, order some Kerala specialties, and share dishes. Five stars for bringing something genuinely unique to the Chicago area's Indian dining scene.

After that once we got seated, they never even came to get our order and once they did, they didn't even care to bring our food. Fun part we ordered everything at once and we literally got only three out of six items that we ordered. Overall, we entered at 1:45 PM and got out at 4 o'clock. Frustrated the biggest issue I felt was the button idli that we asked for kids we never got it. Their service was so terrible that the guy was taking our order was expressionless didn't even care when we decided to walk out. I was so mad that I didn't want to even pay the bill for the stuff we ate, but we still paid and left. The table which came after us they even got some of their food but we didn't. They are so much potential with their food the management sucks

Since we hadn't been here, we decided to check it out. This restaurant is located off Dempster St. in a small plaza. They serve a variety of dosas and Indian street food dishes. They also offer Indian desserts, Indian beverages, Boba teas, and Yemeni Adani Tea. The pricing is reasonable. We ordered a Ghee Roasted Dosa, and extra spicy Mysore Masala Dosa, a Spring Dosa, Mumbai Pav Bhaji, and two Adani teas. The food was served promptly. The food is served in sturdy disposable food trays along with plastic ware and hot beverages are served in coffee shop like to-go, small size (paper) coffee cups. The tea was scalding hot as it was freshly prepared. I had to let it cool off. The plastic lid of the cup was tightly fitted and given how hot the cup was, it was hard to take the plastic lid off. The lid was hot along with the cup. They had the hot cup sleeves but they were too big for their small tea cups. The tea was nice. All the dosas were tasty. We liked them. They had decent flavor and texture. They were a bit thicker than the dosas from other south Indian restaurants we have eaten at. That wasn't a problem to us. The spice level for my dosa was good. The accompaniments with the dosas of sambar, coconut chutney, and tomato chutney, for dosa dipping purposes, were nice. We really liked the coconut chutney (w/ cashews) and tomato chutney (w/ peanuts). They were flavorful. The sambar had a nice flavor (from spices & veggies) but texture wise it could've been better. It needed to be a bit thicker. The Pav Bhaji (bread with mixed veggies in a gravy) had a decent taste but it needed to be thick with some body from the usual veggies in it. The Pav (Indian bread) for the Bhaji was really good. Our experience was nice. The service was decent. We were the first customers after they opened at 12:30 pm but a short time later, the restaurant got busy. If I am in the area again, I would go back. Overall, 3.5 stars.

My relative has visited India and stated the Dosa she ordered was so delicious, tasted just like dishes one makes in India. My veggie Samosas were perfectly prepared. I really enjoyed my Brown Sugar Boba Bubble Tea. Our order was placed and served quickly. Wait staff was attentive and extremely friendly. The place is wonderfully decorated with lovely artwork all around. Thanks Dosa Point for a nice dinner. Cheers!~
