Ordered their Paneer Gotala and Samosa Roll. Both were yummy with comforting Indian taste. Was happy to see they had special customizable option for Jain on uber eats while ordering.

I recently went here for a weekday lunch and got the tandoori chicken with rice to go. The portion size and price were reasonable for downtown DC. Despite the restaurant being fairly quiet, it took a while for my food to arrive. The chicken was charred to black in some places; otherwise it was juicy, well-seasoned, and well-cooked. The chicken-to-rice ratio was fantastic, with lots of chicken and not too much rice. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the lime and onions added freshness to the dish. I would recommend Eggholic for a work lunch.

You're hearing it from a Mumbai-born Indian with picky tastes! This place is spectacular! The service was superb, the staff were so nice and friendly, and there was ample seating. Huge menu selection with all kinds of flavors and tastes for an array of palates. You can make the food Indian spicy or keep it mild. The food is absolutely mindblowingly delicious--flavorful, unique, fresh ingredients, and generous portions for the price and location. They have an app and you get $10 off during your birthday month. Earn rewards, eat often! Opened just three weeks ago. I hope they have a long future here in downtown DC. This is my new go-to spot! I'll definitely be back to try one of their many items.

Overall the restaurant was very clean especially the bathroom given being located in DC. However the food was mediocre at best but the concept of the restaurant is very unique. I really liked the egg theme of the menu but the delivery was a bit of a miss. I ordered the butter masala chicken for $18 and given the price you would think it comes with rice or bread but it did not, I had to order those items additionally (Heads up: the bread is plain white bread) The food was a bit tasteless and bland. One of my friends got the chicken masala sandwich which was notably better. Given the unique concept of the restaurant I would greatly appreciate a bit of explanation from the staff on how to order.

Eggholic is a nice addition to DC serving traditional Indian street food as well as some Indian classics of paneer, vegetarian and chicken curries Id say Eggholic is more of a lunch spot and recommend sticking to the street food specialties rather than the regular curries, though they are pretty decent if that's what you are craving. Bombay style vegetable sandwich was great, highly recommend The masala papad was mid, skip this

EggHolic is hands down the best restaurant that I've tried in DC all year. It's an Indian restaurant that serves mostly vegetarian food, but also has meat options, which I believe is halal. We got two types of grilled cheese sandwiches and they were perfect in every way. The flavor and seasoning was legendary, the texture was perfect, and the service was great, all at a reasonable price too. I plan on coming back here many more times.

Outstanding food. Their thali is flavorful. All the curries are well made. You can tell they put a lot of care in the details in seeing how finely shredded the paneer is in the curry or the bite sized pieces of boiled egg. Highly recommend!

I do think this review could be beneficial for others with a number of severe food allergies, but I want to be clear about how the restaurant tried to rectify the situation because my bad experience wouldn't necessarily reflect the experience of others. The reservation site requires you to input any allergies ahead of time so that they can accommodate you. I've used this many times before at other restaurants and never had an issue. In my experience, restaurants will be prepared with the allergy ticket at arrival. I have also eaten at numerous Indian restaurants before without issue, and I had a friend with me who had suggested this place because Indian restaurants are usually accommodating, in their experience. When I sat down at our table and mentioned my allergies, the waiter immediately said that I chose the wrong restaurant. This struck me as quite rude, and I was shocked because I have eaten at so many restaurants in my life and have never been told that. It left a bad taste in my mouth, but we continued to try to work something out. They were unaware of my allergens, so they went to print the allergen ticket and discuss with the chef. When they returned, they pointed to 2 items on the menu. Both of those had my worst allergens in them. At this point I was starting to get concerned for my safety if I were to eat what they prepared. After identifying those allergens on the pre-written reservation ticket, they spoke with the chef again and said they could make a dish from scratch. To be fair, they were doing their due diligence to rectify the issue, however, at this point I was concerned about the attitude toward my allergies and their mistake in suggesting what would be safe to eat. We decided to leave and went to Chef Geoff's down the street. I recommend you compare my experiences at these two restaurants if you have food allergies. Overall I was honestly shocked and mortified because I have never had an issue like this at any restaurant in my entire allergy-ridden life.

The food was great, but tables are too small so if you decide to order a good amount of dishes it probably won't fit. So, I would recommend to not too many dishes as you won't have anywhere to put it. Our table of 4 with a good amount of food, they had to hold orders back just because the plates were too big and the table was too small. We got the fries, we got the samosas, we got the Tikka Masala, Mango pani puri, and some other entrees. All of the dishes were well flavored and unique. I think my whole experience though was somewhat ruined due to the small table and the big plates. I think they need to change the flow of the restaurant, but that's just my observation especially if you're a group that wants to try a lot of different type of dishes. Overall, our experience was good. The waiting staff was nice and complimentary, but the table situation I think is meh for me. Fine for a single person, a bit of a nightmare for groups.

Was pleased to see that the restaurant is still around (and super busy). No reservations, but we were lucky enough that there were enough seats at the bar, otherwise I don't think we would've been able to eat here at all. So hard to choose from a menu where everything sounded so good. We got the palak chaat, bhindi ka lonj, gobhi mattar, mint paratha, vegetable pulao, gujarati lasagne, and chili and olive oil naan. Standouts were the palak chaat and mint paratha. The palak chaat was the most well-balanced dish that satisfied every part of the flavor wheel: crispy spinach fritters, some tang from the yogurt and tamarind, sweetness from the date, and a lovely savoriness. The mint paratha was wonderfully flaky and herbaceous. The other dishes were good, but not particularly exciting. For desserts, we had the mango rasmalai and gulab jamun. Generally love ordering gulab jamun whenever I can, and it really hit the spot. The cardamom ice cream was the perfect pairing for it. I can kind of see where they were going with the mango rasmalai and the different textures/presenations of mango, but personally did not find it to be that memorable. Overall, not as mind-blowing as I remember but still enjoyed the meal. Definitely recommend making reservations if you want a table.

Every dish felt intentional, beautifully plated, and packed with flavor. We started with the Gobhi Manchurian and the Nargasi Kofta, and both were incredible. The low light really brings a intimate and exclusive mood to your experience here. Service: Before being sat, being greeted and being sat was slow, there was only us and another group and the venue was not packed or busy. We waited quite a while to be greeted at our table as well aftwr being seated. However, during the experience, service was exceptional. From serve staff taking explaining the dishes to us to the staff wiping up our table between courses. Their attention to detail and promptness was lovely. At one point I had to leave the table for a long period of time so I missed the 5th course. They took it away because it was cold and brought me a fresh hot dish. They were extremely kind and thoughtful of my 9 year old. Misc notes before food review: This is not a kid friendly venue, especially if you have a picky eater or a child that doesn't like to venture out or expand their palate. There are options that kids could like but very limited. They do get to choose a la carte from the regular 4 course meal menu. There is a parking garage across the road that closes at 10. Worst parking and customer service experience of my life. Please dont pay to park here if you can help it. There's if some free or pay to park street parking. They have a 4 course regular menu for $90pp and a 7 course chef tasting menu for $175pp. The chef tasting menu is said to be limited time but looking at the other reviews, it seems like the chef tasting is pretty much the same and one or two courses vary. We were able to do the 7 course experience for $125 due to a promotion going on. Everyone had to do the same experience. Portions are quite small and you may leave not fully satiated. But the experience is lovely. I would say it is a little over priced, but again we pay for the ambience, presentation and experience. Drinks: I really enjoyed the drinks I was able to try. They are an experience when you receive them. The presentation is so lovely. See pictures. I got to try the lychee bomb which was excellent, and my favorite of the drinks I tried. Love the flavor pairings, sweet with some savory hints. Hocus pocus was a bourbon lovers dream. Great pairing of the berry puree and bitters with bourbon. The this is not lassi was really nice with lassi flavors with blackberry hints. And thick as well. The blush and bashful was tart and really unique. I tried it without the foam. And lastly the spring awakening, this was my least favorite. The alcohol pairing with the kiwi cucumber flavors didnt really fit to me. All the drinks definitely could tell had alcohol. Food: We did the non-vegetarian tasting with 7 courses. They do have a vegetarian tasting as well. The presentation of all the food was pretty lovely and I quite enjoyed that aspect. The sabudana vada and chana masala panisse was lovely, super flavorful and I would say my #2 for the night. Perfect start. First course - The tuna tartar pani puri was really nice and unique. I would never have thought to pair tuna with pani puri but it really worked. My #4 for the night. Second course - Hokkaido scallop... it was perfect. The hollandaise was so flavorful but did not over power the jumbo scallops natural taste. And the scallop wasnt over cooked. This is a scallop lovers dream. My #1 for the night. Third course - quail egg kaftan, this was a dense kofta, which i appreciated. Fourth course - black cod. It initially appeared undercooked and thought it would have a fishy smell and taste. Pleasantly surprised with the delicate way it was prepared yet no fishy taste or smell. Fifth course - lamb seekh kabob - this was a hand held one, which I enjoyed. All the flavors in one bite really brought thr flavors out. However this was probably my least favorite of the dishes. Sixth - pork cheeks vindaloo was really nice. Very tender and moist and rhe sauce was quite nice. Pre dessert was exquisite. It was so refreshing, cleansing, cool, and tart. It made my mouth water for dessert. Dessert we had the chocolate tart which was nice but nothing special that I noted. The chocolate and the crunch went nicely together. However if I had to choose I would go with the kesari mango dessert. My 9 year old waa able to do a la cart from the 4 course meal choices. The beef short rib was amazing! So tender, so we'll cooked, so flavorful I throughly enjoyed it. My #3 for the night. Garlic naan was soft and not to burnt. And her dessert, the kesari mango was super delicious especially the sesame brittle. Id love to try this one again. I probably wouldn't come here again unless someone specifically requested to come here. But overall my experience was a nice one. It was nice to try this once.
