OMG! SO GOOD! The paneer tikka masala pizza is to DIE for. And so are the chaat fries. Put the fries on the pizza for an extra big back bite. I have no feedback for improvement, but I do wish there was extra sauce in the pizza and fries (but they're AMAZING as is!!!!!) the bathroom could be a little nicer and they could use some light cleaning of the windowsills but nothing that made me uncomfortable about the food read more

Curry & Pie is absolutely phenomenal! If you are looking for tasty, generous portions of authentic Indian food in Georgetown, look no further. I had been meaning to try Curry & Pie for a while and was so excited to pop in for dinner on a weeknight. My friend and I were starving, so we decided to split a Paneer Tikka Pizza (extra hot!) alongside a delicious Shrimp Curry. These two were INCREDIBLE. The shrimp was cooked well and was perfectly spiced in a rich curry. I was so impressed at the size of the large prawns - talk about a a great deal for $16. The paneer pizza was cheesy and so flavorful. A must-try! The ambiance is a classic Georgetown row house and provides mostly upstairs seating. Nice tables and plenty of space for solo or group dining. The service was very accommodating and I appreciate the staff making sure we were cool on such a hot summer evening. I think this place is tad bit over hyped, in my opinion. The experience didn't start off great right off the bat. We were a party of 5 and the person we spoke to initially all but told us to leave because they couldn't accommodate us. He suggested we to take away instead. We understand that it's a very small place with limited seating, but we didn't mind waiting. As we were discussing what to do, another person came out and told us they could seat us if we could wait 15-20 minutes. We eventually got seated and ordered our food. The chicken momo's were nothing special and under seasoned. The mango ginger fizz was delicious but it's mostly ice and not worth the cost. The pizzas were good though. Very greasy but good. Beware of the spice level that you order - their spicy is spicy so proceed with caution. For us, the medium was perfect, the spicy was too much to enjoy the food. Service was ok. Curry Pie is a hidden gem! When you walk in, you head upstairs to dine--it's cozy and quaint, the kind of spot that feels like a well-kept secret. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and saag aloo (spinach and potatoes), which they kindly customized for me since I prefer my spinach without paneer. I asked for it spicy, and they delivered! When I tell you it was absolute perfection, I mean it. Every bite was packed with flavor and danced on my taste buds. The garlic naan--cut into fours--was hands down the best I've ever had. 3.75 stars actually I love this place and the food is AMAZING, but I've noticed that the portions have been getting smaller and frankly its ridiculous, on top of high prices. Overpriced. 5 months ago i came and we go 3 samosas. This time we got only got 2 samosas and the price was HIGHER?? The server admitted it too lol. Also why is a cup of curry served with a cup of rice $18 bucks? The portions are not worth the price. The interior is okay, when we came we were literally the only customers, but it was probably just a slow time. Anyway, if you come here I recommend the chicken tikka masala, samosas(can be a little too salty), or lentil soup. Also the sauces for the somosas were disgusting imo. read more

I came here because I heard it was halal, and I love good fusion food. The pizza is exceptional, dare I say it's the best in dc for a comfortable pizza eating. The curry is just alright, but I'm Pakistani so my standards are naturally high; I'll say that they do load you up on meat in the curries. Service is good. One time, the server messed up the pizza and immediately offered a new one, with a bunch of apologies. He also offered gulab jaman (I haven't had any this good in ages). Ambiance is great. It's small but I've never had an issue getting a table for my party. Great place for a cozy dinner. Located on a side avenue off of Georgetown's ever-busy M Street, Curry & Pie is an Georgetown institution to both students and residents alike, serving up generous portions of Indian-fusion fare at low prices! The actual restaurant looks like it's actually a repurposed house, with both downstairs and upstairs seating. The space is cramped, but clean and well-lit, with lots of natural lighting flowing in from the windows! My party of six stopped in on a Saturday at around 1pm, and were seated almost immediately. You scan a QR code to see the menu, which is chock-full of more traditional Indian classics (Chicken Momos, Paneer Makhani, etc.) to Americanized Indian food (Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, etc.) to wacky Indian-American fusion (most notably: Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza, anyone?). I ordered their Lettuce Wrap with Chicken ($6.95), and my friends ordered the Chicken Momos ($6.95 for 5), Chicken Tikka Masala ($15.95), Paneer Makhani ($14.95), Naan ($2.95), Garlic Naan ($3.45), and their Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza ($11.95 for a personal-sized pizza). Our orders all came out within 15 minutes: my Lettuce Wraps ($6.95 w/ chicken, shrimp for an extra cost) came with a generous portion of chicken marinated in a spiced sauce, served with a refreshingly acidic cilantro-based sauce on the side! The chicken was breast meat, but it wasn't dry at all - in fact, it was quite tender, and the sauce was flavorful. The veggies and lettuce also tasted fresh - a delicious pick for a healthier choice, and a great value! I didn't try the Chicken Momos ($6.95), but my friend cited that the wrappers were dry, and the filling tasted store-bought. They came with a "secret momo sauce" for dipping, though it was apparently quite salty. Probably a skip for next time! The Chicken Tikka Masala ($15.95) comes with quite a generous portion of the classic dish, as well as a side (or should I say: mountain) of rice. The breast meat came in large, tender chunks that soaked up the well-spiced sauce, and the rice was soft and fluffy. Everyone that ordered this as an entree had to take leftovers home, since the portion is so large! I didn't try the Paneer Makhani ($14.95) either, but my friend enjoyed the soft, mild cheese paired with a brightly creamy tomato sauce with spices, and said it was delicious paired with her side of rice! Since my friends weren't aware of the fact that their entrees came with rice, they also ordered the Naan ($2.95) and the Garlic Naan ($3.45). Each naan dish comes with four large pieces, so it's a great value, though my friends said the Naan was a bit dry (even though it's basted with butter), and the Garlic Naan was overly greasy/oily, with a pool of oil at the bottom of the dish. They enjoyed dipping it in their curry, however! Finally, my last friend ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza ($11.95) - for a personal size, it's quite large (noticing a theme here?). She enjoyed the unique combination of flavors, but cited that there isn't a ton of Indian flavor in the pizza, nor much chicken on top, and the crust was a bit doughy for her liking. It's a novel concept, but not a must-get here. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Curry & Pie - nothing here is an absolute must-try, but the portions are big, the food is solid, and service is friendly and fast. I've had good Indian pizza in CA so I was excited to try this but was kind of disappointed. Saw a lot of reviews that said the chicken tikka masala pizza had no curry flavor and just tasted like pizza with chicken on top, so we opted for the saag paneer pizza which seemed popular as well. Sadly it just tasted like regular pizza, probably because there was just a lot of mozzarella on it (very satisfying cheese pull though). The chicken tikka masala curry was really good though, would give that dish a 5/5 and come back for it. Comes with rice and we ordered naan on the side, but would skip that next time - the naan wasn't good or like naan i've had at other restaurants before. One of the popular fusion dishes is their chicken tikka pizza. We decided to order that along with a saag paneer pizza and the French fry chaat plate. To be honest the chicken tikka pizza just tasted like a normal pizza with chicken on top. No real fusion aspect or Indian spices to make it different. However the saag paneer pizza had a nice fusion twist to it. The French fry chaat was also really good. For drinks I had the mango lassi which was refreshing. Although the food was good it didn't seem like their pizza was as fusion as it could have been, but I'd like to come back and try other things on the menu like their curries and biryani. read more

This is a tiny place near the Georgetown University campus, it says Indian fusion but it is is more of a Indian restaurant, the place has limited number of tables and the food came quick I went there for lunch. I tried the Pizzas Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza and the Mushroom pizza, both of them tasted alright, I felt that the chicken tikka masala pizza was soggy at the bottom, the personal size pizza was good enough for two persons as it was thick or May be I wasn't too hungry. The tandoori chicken wings are ok, nothing special about them. Haven't tried the sauce. The service was quick and the person waiting on us came a couple of times to check on us. I do not recommend this restaurant. I ordered the traditional samosas and it was devoid of flavor. It did not even have salt. That was the first sign that things would not be good but since there were good reviews on here, I decided to ignore it, thinking that the entree would be better and flavorful. Was I impressed with the entree, Saag Paneer Curry Pie? Of course not! The only flavor was the heat level. I was left wondering whether the chefs even knew what SALT is. The tandoori chicken wings had no salt either. Everything tasted bland. The only saving item was the mango lassi, a drink. I came for the supposedly good food but enjoyed only an expensive drink. I love Indian food, and was so excited to find this place while visiting the area from Syracuse, NY. I've never seen Indian Fusion before, and this place had it covered pretty well. We went all out on our order to make sure we tried as much as we could. If I had more time, I would have loved to come back and try the regular curries non-fusion items they have to offer. Decently spicy, offered the full on taste of the curry with the awesome delivery of pizza. It worked 100%, definitely the best part of the meal. We got classic and chili chicken momos. Basically, the classic came plain with dipping sauce on the side, while the chili ones came in the sauce. We were glad we got two orders, because they were about as good as the pizza. Tandoori Wings were an easy decision as well. They weren't cooked crispy at all despite our request, which is the only reason they're not elevated with the pizza and momos. The flavor was good and a little spicy, and it was really neat having their yogurt based take on bleu cheese. I jumped at the idea of Tandoori Tamales. In Syracuse, you almost can't find tamales at all, so I take them anywhere I can find them. Indian Fusion was too good to be true. I was disappointed not to like them. They were pretty thick, and dough part was like biting into an under-cooked potato. By the time I got to the middle, I needed a break from the tamale. They didn't quite grab the flavor or texture of it, definitely a swing and a miss. I wasn't sure what it was, but looking to add something for a dessert, I pulled the trigger on "fried little balls of joy, soaked in a sweet honey syrup", or Gulab Jamun. Simply put, it was just two globs of deep fried batter, but it went down in so many more words. Even at $2.00 a piece for something the size of an egg yolk, I wish I ordered more, even though it would have killed me. They were so soft, and sweet, and had the richest flavor of anything. Great way to end the meal. They have a full Indian menu that I never got to try, but it was the fusion that got us in the door in the first place. We were on campus at Georgetown University and looking for a place to have lunch and saw this restaurant on Yelp. We were not disappointed! The restaurant is pretty small but it really delivers. Most of the tables are up on the second floor but there are a couple of tables on the first floor when you walk in. The service was prompt and the food was amazing! We did a plate of the Chicken Momos (think an Indian version of potstickers), the Paneer Makhani (the sauce was TO DIE FOR!), and a piece of naan. The naan was the only thing we felt luke warm about - not that it was bad just that everything else was so good! I love Indian fusion pizza and decided to try this as a switch over from Wise Guys and Chicago Pizza With a Twist...never again. We ordered what everyone seems to be ordering pizza wise, the The Curry Pie with the saag paneer option. This was probably the most bland pizza I've ever tasted. It tasted like dry dough and there was no element of fusion in it. The paneer was scarce and the flavor was lacking, we could taste no saag in the pizza. As sad as it is to say, we didn't finish it and ordered another pizza from another fusion place. Maybe this is me being too critical but if your name is "Curry and Pie" I expect some spice!!! Maybe it was an off day in the kitchen since we had to wait longer than the expected time. I've found that Indian food in DC caters to a generic palate which is ok but for Indians, we want the spice! We ordered Curry & Pie after seeing such rave reviews as a way to start off the new year. There's no clear guidance on what size the pies are, so we just went with large which are $17 each. We ordered 2 of their naans which were fine. Very bready, but overall ok. The one stuffed with onions had the most flavor but was very dry to swallow. The best dish we ordered were their chaat fries. Lots of toppings and if you like spice these are for you. Very well balanced. Out of the 3 pizzas we ordered the best was the saag paneer, but still, it was nothing remarkable. All of the pizzas just tasted like regular cheese pies. The lamb vindaloo pizza was especially disappointing for having 1-2 small pieces of meat per slice of cheese pizza. Especially a $17 pizza. Maybe my expectations were high but these were regular cheese pizzas with a sprinkle of toppings on top. The chicken mango tikka only had flavor from the slivers of mango, that again, were very minimal. The same bready dough with cheese on top. I'd be interested to know how their Indian food is outside of pizzas but probably won't give my business again having spent $75+ on very mediocre food. With so many pizza places in DC, you can find much better and much cheaper. read more
