I don't see what the hype is about this place. Went there on a Saturday morning to pick up my online order. The place was packed in the dining area and at the order pickup counter. There's no place to stand and everybody just tried their best not to bump into each other. I ordered the Cheesesteak Melt w. Fries and the Loaded Homefry Bowl. The Cheesesteak Melt was supposed to come with onions and mushrooms, but literally only had cheese on it. And I didn't get fries, I got home fries that were undercooked. Same with the bowl...the potatoes were undercooked. But what really irritated me is there was a girl who was getting the orders out and checking each bag. That means she saw that I was supposed to get fries but was given home fries instead, and bagged my order anyway. AND, she tied my bag so tightly that I wasn't able to open it. Otherwise, I was going to check the bag myself. She didn't close anybody else's bag that way either which makes me think it was done on purpose. Something told me to open the bag once I got in the car, but like I said, the place was packed, the parking lot was a mess, and I was just ready to get out of there. Anyway, never again. read more

First off, let me update y'all from my last review. There is now a $1 up charge for substituting a grilled blueberry muffin, pancake, half waffle or piece of french toast for your toast, but still no charge for getting half fried potatoes/half grits for your side, when included in the meal. The grilled blueberry muffin is totally worth it! We both decided to try an omelette today. We got the Southwestern and the Philly Cheesesteak omelettes, both were awesome! The grits were straight fire today! I haven't had grits that good since my grandpa was around! The omelettes were full of awesome ingredients, everything was amazing and we just loved our server, Tay! We are definitely looking forward to going back and ordering to go in between. Sorry we forgot to take photos before we started eating, but we were hungry and it all looked amazing (just like it tasted)! Love that you can do call ahead seating or get on the waitlist on Yelp. Today there was no wait. So we were seated right away in a booth on a Sunday morning before the church crowd arrived. Deborah from Pensacola, FL was super attentive, friendly and checked on us frequently. I ordered the hash Benedict. The potatoes were delicious, seasoned just right, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The eggs Benedict was delicious. I dined with 3 more people. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. Eggs Up never ceases to impress me. We had a fantastic experience today--in spite of the fact that we visited during a global pandemic, and on Father's Day (when restaurants crowds are notoriously larger). Upon arrival, we were greeted by name and quickly seated by a very friendly member of your waitstaff (whose name, I'm sorry to say, I didn't get). The real hero of the day, though, was Brooks (our server), who did an EXCELLENT job. Even though she was busy and not assigned to our zone, she noticed that we hadn't yet been served, so she cheerfully stepped in and helped. She was super efficient: confirmed our order, brought out every condiment we requested (without our having to ask twice), was there every time we needed her, didn't once interrupt our dinner conversation, and was more polite than any server I've ever had. Nice friendly staff and clean restaurant. Coffee was kinda weak and for the coffee drinkers they only offer Coffee Mate creamer (YUCK). The bacon was like microwave bacon and the sausage gravy lacked sausage flavor or seasoning and kinda watery. The eggs and pancakes I got were cooked perfectly however Cracker Barrel has this place beat with there warm syrup. My cold log cabin just didn't melt the butter. Me and my partner came here for lunch and got the shrimp and grits. They forgot the sausage in our shrimp and grits so the waiter gave me some to go- which at that point I no longer needed it. I got fruit as a side since I don't eat eggs. The fruit had cheese in it and was starting to go bad. The garlic bread that came in the shrimp and grits was burned. Overall the food was horrible and just nasty. The grits didn't have any type of gravy or anything this was probably the worst shrimp and grits I've ever eaten. read more

We came here for breakfast on our way to Charlotte from Savannah. I was skeptical at first because we normally find local Mom & Pop style diners for breakfast but we really wanted to eat something quick. We were not disappointed. The servers were so friendly and efficient. I had the Mason Dixon which is eggs (I like mine over easy or as they say in Pennsylvania, "drippy"), sausage biscuits with gravy and grits. Everything was fantastic and cooked perfectly. The price was very reasonable. I think my breakfast was under $8.00. They also had the food out to us quite fast. Bug thumbs up to this place. We will be back here if we're in Columbia again during our travels. On a side note for you Gamecock fans. I was able to do this while at home, so within the 10 minutes it took to get here, it was ready and we were promptly seated in a booth which I requested through the app (skipped the line!). Went for lunch with my wife yesterday. We both ordered the same thing...soup and salad. The soup of the day was the Italian Wedding Soup and it was very good. I ordered the house salad (lettuce, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, red peppers, green peppers) with bleu cheese dressing. My wife ordered the peppercorn dressing (which was reddish rather than the white creamy type). Everything was great. Service was great. I've been here for breakfasts and it's one of my favorites. Every time I visit this location the breakfast is delicious and cooked perfectly. The customer service is absolutely refreshing especially since this location stays completely packed and busy. It saddens me that this place have such a low rating. They are a small little place with a long waitlist but I have no complaints. The third time was indeed a charm. After several disappointing experiences with extremely sour gluten-free pancakes, today's were fantastic. I appreciate the kind cook who took the time to address our concerns by preparing a sample pancake before completing our order. However, the management experience was less satisfactory. Our name was supposed to be in the book for a free meal credit, but the manager insisted there was only one meal listed, when there should have been two. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she spoke to us from across the restaurant and implied we were trying to get free food. As individuals with celiac disease, finding safe dining options is challenging, and we were on the verge of giving up on gluten-free pancakes at this location (as no other location has a struggle safely, healthily, and properly preparing gluten free pancakes.) While the food was excellent, the billing process was confrontational and uncomfortable. I left feeling discriminated against rather than valued as a customer. read more

Been meaning to update this review for a while. Not too long after I posted my last review of eggs up, I received an email from one of my co-workers who stated that the owner of this particular Eggs up was a friend of his and wanted to know if it would be ok to contact me. I agreed to talk with him and we had a very delightful, informative and respectful conversation regarding the event that took place in his establishment. He also assured me that the issue was addressed immediately and steps had been taken to ensure myself or any other customer would never feel the way I felt that day. The owner even offered for my family and me to come to have Breakfast on him. That was not my intention to get anything for free so I said thank you but no. I want to thank the owner once again for his words and actions. It really made my feel as though I was valued as a customer and human being.
