Well, I was expecting more. First, let me say the server was wonderful ad the price of the meal was excellent when I stopped by for lunch. The tea tasted great. However, I got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and lima beans and was not impressed. They did not have white gravy which every other place I have ordered country fried steak offers. The server said white gravy is only available at breakfast. The steak itself was almost perfectly round. Ut tasted bland. The potatoes tasted like they were out of a box. Th lima beans were not much better. Given all I had read about tis place on Facebook and now the reviews I see on here, I was really surprised. It wasn't that great. My first time ever coming here. It's a nice little Mom and Pop spot. Saw the high reviews on Yelp, and decided to come. I've always seen this place because I'm always in this area. Had the Fish Sandwich Basket (Flounder) w/Slaw & Fries. Everything was fresh and hot off the grill. Fries were seasoned, and not too salty! I got lettuce and tomato on my sandwich. My 1st visit was just ok. Omelette was great 1 of the better ones I ever had. The toast had a couple drops of butter on it so I had to request additional and the hash brown seemed burnt to me but I was told that's his they serve them. Our ROMEO group of seven went here Tuesday for lunch. Seated immediately and the waitress took our drink orders and came back quickly for our entrees. We had three orders for the Yardbird Special (Chicken sandwich with fries), and order of the vegetable soup with a grilled cheese sandwich, a second grilled cheese sandwich, a 3 Veggie Plate and a Fried Chicken with three sides. The waitress brought out the sandwiches but gave one of the guys a grilled cheese thinking it was a yardbird...no big deal, but he ate it and the other guy had the yardbird. The soup and grilled cheese were good. The veggie place was good and he'd wished he'd ordered a fourth vegetable. He ordered the black eyed peas, the broccoli rice cheese and one other veggie. I had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and the broccoli rice cheese casserole along with the green beans. The chicken was good but very bland (needed a bit of salt), the green beans were also bland but the Broccoli Cheese casserole was excellent. Nice place, good service and it can get busy. Everything is always amazing at Haile Street Grill!! Fried pork chops and cabbage are my favorite, but the pulled pork is amazing too!

Just good, simple country fare. Steam table with fried chicken, fish, and pork chops. Hamburgers and tots etc. Cheeseburger was adequate, tots were good. This is a small and quaint restaurant with good country cooking. I've eaten there a few times and have always been pleased. I'd give this a five, but the seating is quite cramped. Usually if you order a drink you can change up at no extra charge, at least here in the south. Always ask to be sure. My buddy Marty recommended this spot for the best omelettes in town and boy was he ever right!!!! I had a veggie omelette and hash browns and if I had no manners I would have licked the plate ckean it was all THAT DELICIOUS!! Dad had an order of French toast(2.99) that looked like 4 pieces it was that huge. Dad cleaned his plate and at the end our server gave dad a complimentary slice of delicious cheesecake for his birthday. Everyone was so nice to us. The food was A+! The service was excellent. The grille was clean and brite. I absolutely LOVED the r restaurant! I wish I lived here because I would be here several times a week iy was that great. Wow! Is the first thing that comes to mind since this place reopened. I came here quiet often as a child and was one of my favorite local spots for lunch. Under the new owners, it has done nothing but improve. I don't really know where to start so I will just list some must haves: fried chicken, potato salad, Mac and cheese, fried catfish and pulled pork. As for desserts, you won't go wrong with any decision you make but the standouts have to be the hummingbird cake (which I pick up for my wife while she is at work to improve her day as I'm sure it would yours)and banana pudding. read more

Mitch and Karen have done a great job renovating the Haile Street Grill; it looks really good. I've already eaten here twice and the food was great both times. I highly recommend the fried pork chops, probably the best I've ever had. Peach cobbler with ice cream was a great way to finish our meal. Will be eating lunch here at least once a week and I'm looking forward to eating breakfast here as well. I will also be trying out their dinner menu once they start their evening hours. read more
