I come here for one thing and one thing only, well maybe a couple things, but the gluten free pancakes will always have my heart. I ordered the kids gluten free pancakes for me and the kiddo to share. We loved them. They have a decent size gluten free menu so hopefully we can eat our way through it. However, service can be pretty rough on the weekends as this is a very popular spot for brunch. Due to the demand, the inside can also get kind of tight at the tables. This restaurant is in a fantastic location, perfect for a brisk walk to and from the area. We loved how it's "tucked away" among modern apartment complexes and other nearby buildings--it felt cozy and inviting. Do keep in mind that parking can be tricky, especially on nice days when many visitors are enjoying the nearby Cayce/West Columbia Riverwalk. A little patience goes a long way! As for the food, it was absolutely top-notch! I opted for a simple but classic breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon, and everything was cooked perfectly. While the menu is a bit "busy" with many options to choose from, the variety is impressive, and I'm excited to try more dishes next time. No complaints here! Service was equally great. We arrived about 45 minutes before closing, and our hostess took the time to answer all of our questions about the menu, which was much appreciated. Service was real slow while we waited to be seated even though there were only a few tables . Food is on the higher pries side for the amount you get but it does taste good . Coffee is your normal run of the mill restaurant coffee . The gluten free pancakes are small as could be and fall apart but they are pretty darn good tasting (taste like a good cake doughnut) the lemon blueberry ones had only a few blueberries and the banana ones with the rum sauce are to die for . The homemade sausage patties are a great balance of sweet and savory . With all being said I will still be going back for the gluten free pancakes and the sausage . I went there yesterday and ordered the Apple fritter French toast. Not the cook nor waitress informed me they were out of apples until handing me the dish. I wasn't given a chance to order something else instead of given discount due to the error . They acted like to was no big deal because the dish still had blueberries on it . We decided to try this new location in Columbia one Saturday morning around 10am. There was no wait upon arrival so we got sat right away. The outside is a really nice area but we opted to sit indoors since it was not nice outside that day. I got the s'mores cold brew coffee and it was really good. I did not get the spiked one but my sister did get the caramel spiked coffee and she loved it. For my meal I got the shrimp and grits and it was pretty darn good. The sauce was not soupy and there was plenty of shrimp! I was skeptical about getting that dish because you know at some places the shrimp portions can be small but this gave plenty. I had a piece of shrimp for every bite that I had taken. I ended up finishing my whole meal! I didn't try everyone meal that morning but let's just say all the food was cleared off everyone plate. There wasn't a crumb left. From the service to the food everything was amazing. Also this is just a heads up, they don't start serving hard liquor until 10 so if you are going for a drink for breakfast/bunch I would just keep that in mind. read more

If you enjoyed Snooze AM eatery, you'll love this place, if not enjoy it more. This place simple has the best breakfast foods; I mean who doesn't enjoy a great breakfast meal anytime of the day? Their menu is very diverse starting with their drink selection of mimosas and mocktails to their amazing food selection that seems to specialize more in "breakfast entrees". I've dined here few times and it's always packed and for good reason. From my visits, I highly recommend omelets, my favorite being the Floridian. The egg is soft, well cooked and topped off with some delicious sauce. Their biscuits and gravy is my all time favorite. I've also tried their cinnamon roll, which is another amazing dish to try, but no matter what you get, I highly recommend ordering a side of their biscuit beignets. The 1/2 size is plentiful without filling you up. They also have seasonal menus to keep an eye out for. Besides the long waits, especially on the weekends (they close early), the staff have always been courtesy and helpful at assisting me make the right choices. For me, to avoid the dine in times, I've done To Go orders which tasted just as fine. I think this place is one of the top 3 best places in Columbia or even South Carolina to enjoy amazing breakfast/brunch entrees. Solid 5/5 stars! read more

Beautifully decorated and bright upon entering. We were seated within 5 minutes; I know this varies depending on the time of day. Staff were nice but slow. They weren't crowded so I expected it to be quicker. However they could have hair to go orders, so I'll give a little grace. The food was delicious but I'm basic and don't veer too far away from my breakfast favorites. The grand mimosa was also delicious! Alright so upon finally getting around to trying this spot, the food was very good. It has a nice, open cafe kind of atmosphere with a really pretty window view of the street. My partner and I decided to give it a go after a round of golf and the food was stellar. The beignets were very fluffy and tasty, with the orange marmalade topping it off with that sweet taste that just made the dish perfect. I recommend getting a pitcher of mimosas and having these as the appetizers. I chose to get the Floridian omelette, with the cream cheese filling, garlic herd crab meat, melted jack cheese and green onions coming together to make a delicious combination in the palette. My partner got the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes. She loved them but her only critique was that there was more of an abundance of toppings, especially the goat cheese. When it comes to service... expect it to be slow. It took about 15 minutes to get our pitcher of mimosas. I understand things are busy, but as a bartender myself, I watched the service bar stack out with tickets while the bartender casually just served bar customers. Our server seemed displeased with our table, even though we tried to be as easy and patient as possible. The service is really the only reason for 3 stars. sunday breakfast in columbia is no joke, it's a zoo! this place like all the others was ultra busy but we managed to beat the hour wait at 11am/1130am by finding seats at the bar. GM caitlynn made my morning with such great hospitality. we had a nice hot breakfast and coffee, great vibes, just really turned my frown upside down for sure, after bouncing around looking for a place to eat. i am a very tough customer but this experience was great. eggs and belgian waffle no big deal but try the benedict or the cinnamon bun french toast with fruit. those were the big hits. read more

Went here because waitress very long in some of smaller breakfast places and it was a good decision. Told wait was 30-40 minutes but it was a lot less. Got dark roast coffee at suggestion of waiter, which I take back and it was excellent. Got cinnamon roll french toast with berries, scrambled eggs and bacon. Thought i had ordered peach french toast but cinnamon roll was good. Very sweet! Scrambled eggs done perfectly bacon tasted kinda weird but was cooked well. I love breakfast and my experience could've been bc they were about to close within an hour. I've managed restaurants for over a decade so i knew better but my husband wanted to go. We had been eyeing this placed for weeks and finally decided not to go to IHOP for our usual breakfast. The city grits 10/10, i didn't try the Bourbon pancakes but my husband said they were good! The Lemon Blueberry pancakes wasn't what i was expecting, if you've had ghost cheese you know the flavor is very strong and a little goes a long way and there was way too much, also expected the pancakes be made with blueberries not garnished. Flavors were all there but overkill on the goat cheese, id make sure cooks are following recipe. Now to the chicken sausage, which it was my out of my ordinary to order but i was craving it .... came out cold and didn't look like it even touched a skillet or grill *you can see it next to my eggs. Our server was great but we could tell everyone was just so focused on cleaning and leaving and not the customer experience or food quality. There was no host when we walked in and a few people saw us waiting at the door and just kept cleaning and didn't greet us, we started to just try it another day but someone finally came and sat us. Overall this was not a good experience. The restaurant had no heat to spite several customers complaining. All of the servers and every guest either had a sweatshirt or jacket on or went out to their car to get one. I ordered the Hash Brown Benedict and Barista Blend coffee. Coffee was good! The eggs were hard boiled and the hollandaise sauce was thick and congealed - see photo. The coffee was luke warm when served and never refilled. The waitress was VERY kind and VERY polite...just not very good. I was seated 10 minutes before I saw her. She did not check on me after the food was delivered, and I was offered a refill at the end of my meal. The new location in West Columbia is so conveniently located by my apartment that I had to make a stop in to check them out. So far, I haven't been disappointed and have enjoyed not only their quick service, but the food itself doesn't disappoint. I had the lemon poundcake french toast and it was so good. I also really enjoyed the poach on their eggs as it was still really nicely runny. I also really enjoyed their brunch cocktail, the salted caramel cold brew which was super flavorful and had a nice salted caramel rim which was delicious! This was my first visit to this restaurant and I was very disappointed. There are coffee signage throughout and what appears to be a "barista type" bar at the entrance. You would think $4 coffee would come with real half & half. I was mistaken. The "half&half" single serve containers that were brought to the table had " No Refridgeration Necessary" stamped on them. So I asked for some real dairy, as in cream or milk. First I was told they didn't have any, then I reasoned saying "you don't serve milk at a breakfast place?". I was brought a glass of milk. It came with a price tag of $3.89 that I later saw on my bill. My friend ordered an omelette. One of the ingredients was cheese, it was sprinkled on top. My potatoes were the frozen ones with no seasoning. I covered them in Tabasco. I will not be back. read more

I am going to give our server 5 the food gets 2 the hostess I am going to premise with we called in advance to let them know we are a table of 4 with two handicapped elderly people (one walks with a cane and the other with an oxygen tank) and do they take exception or preferential seating in this case. We were assured we would be seated right away only to wait 1.5 hours for that to happen!!! I watched them seat table after table after table after table, meanwhile I spoke to the hostess four different times reminding her we were still there, she assured me every time we would be included in the next seating round, never to happen. My problem with all this is had she been honest from the very start, that we were going to have to wait our 45-1hr queue, we would have had handled the wait differently? She should have also let people know that the wait was looking more like closer to a 2 hour wait... We placed our oder immediately once we were seated, and it still took our food 1 hour to come out. The was at best average when it came out, not even piping hot but oh well. I ordered classic Eggs Benny and they were very disappointing; the poached eggs were between soft and hard boiled, the yolk wasn't runny like it's supposed to... the ham had no taste but ok, but the benedict sauce tasted more like a béchamel sauce than Benedict bland and no lemon!!! Thank god for the server!!! was the only good thing about this place! She was just lovely, concerned about our wellbeing and embarrassed she saw us waiting for so long, she managed to get our food comped but even with this nice gesture it wasn't worth the wait for the food was at best average. My suggestion to everyone is; if you see a line of people waiting outside to be seated, don't even bother parking your car, the food isn't worth the wait at all!!! Mine had three slices of canned peaches on dry pancakes with whipped cream....never found the bourbon. We did wait 15 mins before we were greeted at the table and tables that were sat after us received their food before us. The second time we put our name on the wait list and again got there when it said we had less than 15 mins to wait and when we checked in were told it was 45 mins and that your wait time starts when you arrive. After we got told it be a 45 min wait we got told it be another 20 min wait. We got seated and ordered our food. Food was mediocre how can a place like this look great but the food tastes like water. When we arrived the place was loud and packed. We were told it would be about 20 minutes, but the outside tables were open. Because it was so loud, I opted for outside. I don't remember the server's name, but he was excellent. He said since it was our first time time that he'd bring over some complimentary beignets. I know I've had them before, but I couldn't remember when and what they were. Well they are little fried pieces of dough, with powdered sugar with honey to dip them in. Probably not the best thing for a diabetic, but I treated myself to one, and it was awesome. It reminded me of a tiny elephant ear, like at the fair. That had some seasonal options, so I ordered the lobster benedict. It was about 15 bucks, which seemed more than reasonable. I also ordered a Bloody Mary, which was about 12. That seemed a little steep considering I was getting lobster for 15 bucks, but oh well. The drink was just okay. They had a lot of cocktail options, so I'll probably try something else next time. My wife got a cranberry margarita and it was really good. She also got waffles, which she said were good, and the side of sausage which she gave to me was enormous, I'm talking like two hamburger sized. The lobster was little fishy on first bite, but the rest of it was quite tasty. The cheese grits were perfectly smooth, but really lacked any taste. After I covered them in salt, pepper, and some kind of pepper sauce, they were a little better. I wish I had asked for American Cheese instead of cheddar, that's more of personal preference. We arrived at 11:45am and was told that the wait would be 45min. We agreed and added our name to the wait list. After waiting about an hour without receiving a text notification, I asked the front desk greeter for an update she indicated that it would be an additional 15 minutes because "the manager did not want to seat any more people until the kitchen caught up". They had not sat any new parties in about an hour by that point but we decided to continue waiting. At 1:17pm a family that had been waiting with us for about an hour went in and was told that it would be another hour and a half before they would be seated. That was our cue to go!
