The eggs, potatoes, and gravy were on point. The Chimi Steak Scrambler was very good. I was expecting, based on the table tent, to have a bit of pink and juicier than the steak was. Over all tasted great. The service was lagging which may be due to our arrival later in the morning. The server needed a shirt change or a higher bib on the apron. The general condition of the dining room was good considering the time of day. The room was comfortable. I will try them again. Our first time in was a success! The service was great, our server was friendly and made good conversation, the food came out quickly. The restaurant itself was very clean and cutely decorated. It was Memorial Day, so they had some patriotic decor. The bathrooms were clean, although I turned the faucet on to wash my hands and the water was scalding hot (it was to the right) and no matter which direction I turned the faucet, it wouldn't cool down. Once I turned it off and back on again, it seemed to cool down drastically, The classic donuts were fantastic! They were drizzled with caramel and powdered sugar. We had been wanting to try this place for a while, since there are not many breakfast options in the area. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The restaurant has a bright and clean appealing decor, but things went downhill after that. We waited roughly 45 minutes for a table, despite being able to see that our table was clean and ready for at least 15 minutes before being sat. Once sat, it took way too long for our server to take our drink order, and then again way too long for her to return for our food order. After we ordered, our server basically disappeared and failed to bring requested items, like lemons for our water and tea. A great thing about a breakfast place is that the food is typically ready quickly. However, we waited about an hour for our food and neither our server nor management ever checked on us or apologized for the wait. When we finally received our food, it was mediocre and disappointing. My BLT had very little bacon, lettuce, or tomato, and to add insult to injury, the runner tossed me a couple mayonnaise packets to add to the sandwich myself. In the hour it took to make the sandwich, the least they could do was apply the mayonnaise that the menu said came on the sandwich. We came in over Memorial Day and were pleasantly surprised to find that there was only a ten minute wait around lunch time. We waited outside where there is plenty of seating and even some in the shade. Our waitress was awesome and handled multiple tables like a boss despite it only being her first week. The food was fairly typical brunch food that you expect from a chain. Nothing really stood out as really good, but nothing was bad. I got the brunch burger and it was a tad sweet for my liking with the maple syrup caramelized onions but it still got the job done. Here from out of town and like to try new to me restaurants. Was not able to do a sit down meal so decided to do a quick to go breakfast because it had to better than the McDonalds in the same parking lot. We were wrong. The place was hopping busy so it likely this contributed to some of the issues. The menu looked awesome and we were excited. The inside is clean and bright and the staff was friendly which is why, to be honest, they get more than one star. We order two biscuits, one soda, and an iced mocha. The drinks came pretty quick. The mocha was not sweetened at all. The soda was in a regular cup but for what they charge for a drink they should have bigger cups. They food took more than 20 minutes to come out. We ordered a biscuit-wich and a chicken biscuit club. That's a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit with a side of gravy. Hard to go wrong with that right? Wrong! We got a crumbly biscuit with BACON egg and barely enough cheese to see it... now, it was edible but had no flavoring (no salt or pepper). Perhaps the gravy was the seasoning but in a car who is going to dip a crumbly biscuit in gravy? The chicken club biscuit is two chicken strips, eggs, bacon and cheese with a spicy pepper jam. This was extra disappointing. The chicken was definitely some low quality chicken tenders, they skipped my cheese, and you could barely taste the pepper jam which would have given flavor to an overall bad chicken biscuit. Their menu looks great and perhaps our experience would have been different had we been able to eat in. They are new apparently so maybe they are working out kinks and need more staff but based on this experience I would likely not come back. Especially since we're from out of town we wouldn't waste another meal here. If you are local you could try something else on the menu. read more

I really wanted to give this place a chance, but we definitely won't go back. I'm not a fan of franchises to begin with because there's so many great local places to support. While the restaurant itself is cute, the front entrance was horribly designed. I'm not sure whose idea it was to put the hostess stand right at the very front, but it's terrible and bad weather outside was definitely not considered. Hopefully the franchise owners consider moving it somewhere else that makes sense. My next complaint is the food portions. When you pay almost $15 a dish, I would have expected my Eggs Benedict to be much larger in size. I realize that food costs are high and eggs are a bit scarce right now, but the English muffins were so small it was sad. I'm also not a fan of the seasoning on the home fries. Thankfully, everything was hot when it came out. Lastly, I'm not a fan of our waitress having just left the POS at our table to pay, it just seems impersonal. If this is how the rest of the Eggs Up Grill locations are, not much in changing the system. The waitstaff just need to learn how to be more personal in those instances. I've waited tables before, it's not hard to do. With mostly negative reviews, I really do hope that the franchise owners read every single one of these and take them seriously. Otherwise, this place will not last another year and I can tell you, the Boro loves their breakfast places so that would be a real shame! read more

My family of 4 has visited Eggs Up three times since they've come to Murfreesboro. We live nearby and were very excited to have a sit-down restaurant added to this side of town. There are so few to choose from! :( Pros: Wait staff has always been very friendly, the restaurant is clean and has a cheerful atmosphere, loud enough to bring kids (we have 2 young ones) but not too loud to hear a conversation, great location for those of us on the west/southwest side of town, lunch/brunch/breakfast options available, private room available for a small group to meet. Cons: Wait time is awkward with very little space to stand indoors. It gets cramped and it's hard not to feel in the way. Not an issue if it happens to be a beautiful weather day. Our food always seems to take a VERY long time to come- bring your patience and a snack/activities for kids. On our most recent visit all of our food came out cold and they forgot to bring our son's side order. We did get that removed from our bill. I'm hoping with more time they get systems/staff in place to run a little more efficiently. We probably won't be back because it's hard to wait so long for your food and then recieve it cold. We would love to be back when we hear things are running a little more smoothly. Murfreesboro needs more sit down restaurants and many of us are willing to pay to eat at them- as long as it feels like it was all around a quality experience. My negatives aren't written to admonish them or to deter business. Quite the opposite! Nothing changes if they don't know there is an issue. We love going to eggs up all the time! Today was the first time my order got messed up...let's just call it the Great French Toast Saga™. There was a weird miscommunication with the kitchen staff. After two tries of getting the order wrong, I ended up just asking them to take off the French toast from our bill, and I just shared my husband's food. No big deal! Our server Joelle was super cool and helpful. We were able to laugh it off and leave with a funny memory. We'll still be coming back! This is one of our breakfast spots. This next time I tried it on a Sunday at 9:00 am we were told it would be a twenty minute wait. I was ok with with that but when the twenty minute turned into 45 mins. I was not ok waiting in the cramped wait area. I went to ask the manager what the deal was because I seen several empty tables and booths but no one was being seated. She replied that they are preparing for a large party of 25 right now that will be coming in! So I am thinking so the people that are here to eat now don't count?! I told here it was not acceptable to have such long wait times and to service the customers in the restaurant. She also said they didn't have enough servers and did not want to overload the kitchen. I asked if we can at least sit at a table and get drinks, she said no! I was appalled! So that tells me they are not ready to be open for business and have staffing issues and customer service issues for sure! We will not be going back. There are so many other breakfast places in Murfreesboro we can go to. My advice, don't bother with this restaurant if they treat their guest like that! read more
