Wrong bread on both sandwiches. Barely any avocado this time :(. Tastes like there was jalapeños on it and then they were taken off. Same with other sandwich but with lettuce. Never received my food. A new person was left alone and he made a mistake on my sandwich and got overwhelmed with customers and after 15 minutes he still had not gotten around to my sandwich. They wanted me to pay before i got my sandwich this was before I knew a mistake was made. i had to wait for a refund because the manager was busy. The cashier was very rude telling me she was not a child so I should not talk to in an that voice. Really do not know what she was talking about. The help is not trained very well at this location. Love Potbelly's! If you're looking for a sub that's just a little different then Potbelly's is a great choice. A little pricier then Subway but uses the same concept. Their bread is great and they have a bunch of different sandwich options as well as free veggie add ons. They also offer great dessert options from ice cream to shakes to cookies! If you're looking for some healthier options Potbelly's also offers the skinny sub options. Only suggestion for this place would be to expand their veggie options. read more

Look, I'm not big on Potbelly's by any means. The sandwiches are generally fine, and it's one of the only chains in the northern US that stocks Zapp's chips (that I've found, anyway), but the hipster-y atmosphere can be a little bit of a turnoff, especially when you couple it with the grumpy older folks at any given Potbelly who spend 10 minutes interrogating the cashier about menu options. But man, I love the Rockford branch. The past couple times I've been in here, the dude running the sandwich counter is just the cheeriest, most personable guy. I've been in plenty of restaurants where the male cashiers will rush you through ordering if there's a scantily-clad female customer in line behind you, but this dude never seems like he's in any rush to be anywhere besides making your sandwich and cheerfully discussing whatever pops into his head. I wish I knew the guy's name, but seriously? Potbelly? Corporate this guy now. He rocks. read more

The Italian sandwich has Capicola, Mortadella, Pepperoni, Salami & Provolone Cheese on a white bread, Potato Chips, and a drink! Is a good choice to have! We love sandwiches, and Potbelly's are just so much tastier than any other sandwich chain. The bread isn't too thick, the meat is real meat instead of deli slices, the mustard is good stone-ground mustard. Two of our kids are big soup fans, and they love that there are always several varieties to choose from along with fantastic Mac n Cheese! This place was tasty! We went here twice during our Rockford stay and were pleased both times. The new salad, recommended by the staff, was great! The sandwiches were fresh and delicious; I love the hot peppers. They have the option for wheat bread and a thinner bread for the carb-conscious. A few different soups, served piping hot. And don't forget the mini cookies at the register. That gave us something to take back to the house we were staying at to satisfy the sweet tooth. Nothing against this particular potbelly's, I suppose, but I am so disappointed in their sandwiches. I've been on a huge sandwich kick lately and I decided on a whim two times in the past few months to venture over to their sandwich selection (I usually get salads, which have always been great and satisfactory). The first time I had the pizza sandwich. All I have to say is meh. Today I got the chicken salad sandwich and added lettuce and onion. The particulars I don't like about this sandwich is that the chicken salad seems to consist solely of chicken and mayo. I did not see or taste anything else. I didn't really know what to expect because they don't have ANY written description of the chicken salad or what it consists of. The bread is always toasted, which I don't even like. I wish they would say that somewhere or give me the option (ask). After eating the first half, I finally opened up my sandwich to reveal the disappointing contents. There was probably a tablespoon of actual chicken salad filling on the other half of my sandwich. It seems like the sandwich is 75% bread. I hated it. The only reason you get two stars is for your salads. I won't be eating your sandwiches anymore! One more thing: I don't understand why I have to tell THREE separate people what I order. What does the first person in line even do?!! I tell them what I want to order just to move to the next person and tell them all over again. And this is the case for salads and sandwiches. So I don't get it. How about your employees communicate with each other so I can take a gander at your chip selection or think about ordering a dessert. I like potbelly's more so than any other fast food sub chain. The decor inside is really hip. Typically they have good music playing as well. Classic rock/rock. As for the the sub itself it is more upscale than subway or quiznos. They only have to choices of breads. Sometimes, less is better. Another thing I enjoy here is that they have a different selection of sodas and san pellegrino flavored drinks. I wish they had these chains on the east coast. read more
