Really good lunch spot! Order at counter. Salad bar really good and nice options. The Irish potato soup was yummy. Seafood gumbo was fishy though? My first order was for a reuben sandwich and potato salad. The sandwich was good but they gave me spoiled potato salad, and when the girl brought it out to me she basically dropped the bag containing my order on my lap! (Possibly bc I don't tip for ppl to hand things over a counter or walk 10 steps out to my car, I do tip wait staff who actually wait on you with a smile. Like in a sit down restaurant. This is a contentious situation where workers are not paid enough by their employers, so they are panhandling for tips because their Employrrs are paying them Slavewages! Step-up Employers! This place is Sandwich Heaven. Everything is sliced fresh, the bread is right out of the oven. I ordered the New York Yankee, and it didn't disappoint piled high with pastrami and corned beef on marble rye. Delicious. Choice of deli salad or chips for a side. The staff is very friendly, and they definitely care about customer service. Plenty of seating, and they have a salad bar if you so choose. A little pricey, but it's like that at most every restaurant (because of the economy). Definitely a return trip. read more

So Jason's Deli is like Panera, but better in every way. It's less expensive. The food is just as good - fresh, delicious, and a menu with a mix of classic, health-minded, and inventive options. The kids menu has way more choices (their mac & cheese is admittedly not as good as Panera, but their pizza is better). And there's FREE soft serve ice cream. Staff are hard-working, efficient, and kind. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and spacious. I brought my kids here for dinner while we stayed in a nearby hotel. I know we don't have them in MN, and I'd love to see Jason's deli expand nationwide! read more

My grandmother had a pastrami sandwich here a week and a half ago and got very sick. After 2 or 3 days of nonstop vomiting she was admitted to the hospital and just got released the other day. Turns out she had a very bad stomach infection from the sandwich. The place seemed very cool and the employees seemed nice and everything but I'm not sure we'll ever be back after that. read more

A place that has a salad bar and FREE ice cream is an automatic WIN in my book! I love their manager half n half special (half sandwich with soup or a trip to the salad bar). They always have new different kind of sandwiches too - this time I got the bigger better BLT that had an egg in it and it was delish. I always get their fruit as a side which is like $1 extra but it comes with fruit dip and i'm okay with it. One of the best part is their salad bar - so many options and toppings. AND you get free soft serve ice cream (vanilla, chocolate or swirl) that you can make in a dish or cone - so worth it!!!! read more

We stopped here based on Yelp reviews, and sadly I wish we hadn't. Me and my boyfriend paid THIRTY DOLLARS. The sandwhich was small, the chips were dumped from a baked lays chip bag and the cup of soup was maybe 8 oz. It was easily something that could have cost 18-20 dollars especially when food was only okay. There is free ice cream and that's about the only plus side. Even the staff doesn't seem to wanna work there. They seem to be the same design as a layout as a Panera, and my final words are, choose Panera. read more

After knowing nothing about Jason's deli except that it had 4.5 stars on yelp I went out of my way to go to this deli. When I pulled into the parking lot I said shit because its in a strip mall and looks like a chain restaurant when I thought it would be a local deli. I don't know what to expect now. I generally try to stay away from chain restaurants but Jason's slipped through. When I walked in it was a nice modern industrial look with an open spacious feel. I noticed the kitchen area, salad bar, ice crime station and a soda station. Generally a nice looking place and I can see the appeal it has. The menu has so many good sounding options but an employee said the NY Yankee was his favorite so that's what I had. See my pictures. The employees were super friendly and I was told there is free ice crime while I waited for my food to come. The food came in about five minutes. I didn't try the free ice cream because I lost my sweet tooth long ago. The NY Yankee is impressive looking and down right intimidating because it's a monster. See my pictures because this is a tall meaty sandwich. It's toasted rye bread, Swiss cheese, mayo, mustard and hot corn beef with hot pastrami. One individual wrapped pickle on the side was included. My first bite was amazing with the toasted rye and the warm juicy/moist tender meat that melts in your mouth. This is a really good sandwich from a chain restaurant and I'm impressed. I would recommend this place and I'm sad there is none where I live. The NY Yankee was just amazing and I would definitely go back when I'm around one. Since posting this review I am happy to report that Brookfield Wi will open a Jason's deli on January 11 2016. I will be so happy to get the NY Yankee again. read more

My first experience with Jason's Deli was when I was working in Oklahoma. Great sandwiches, soups and salads. When I was driving to work and saw one was coming soon to Rockford, I almost got into an accident I was so excited. They have to be the best sandwich chain there is. It's located in a small strip mall just off of Perryville. You need to access the parking lot off of Mill Rd. It's a nice spacious restaurant, and the service was good when I was there. I know a lot of people are in training so I did allow some leeway with confusion on how their system works. I had the manager's special half sandwich and a cup of soup. My sandwich was the New York Yankee. The Corned beef and Pastrami were fantastic. I loved the sandwich. My soup was the Southwest Chicken Chili. Again, great flavor and very satisfying. Jason's deli has a wide variety of sandwiches, soups and a salad bar you can choose from. I've only eaten at this location once, but if they are anything like the other locations, there isn't a bad item on the menu. read more

Tried for the first time today. I will start with the best stuff: 1. Salad bar is super with fresh and interesting dressings. 2. I was looking at the menu and commenting to the cashier how many vegetarian choices they had and he says, "Oh, it gets better." and hands me a two sided menu just for vegetarians and vegans (see photos). I was in heaven as I normally don't have many choices. 3. Kids meals are actually reasonably priced ($5 and under) and come with organic milk or juice, fruit or chips. 4. They made it easy to choose a healthy meal. 5. Free snacks while you wait for food is awesome! Some drawbacks: 1. The adult grilled cheese tastes exactly like what I make at home...nothing special about it at all. 2. This Jason's has lots of booth seating and the seems to utilize their space much better than other Jason's I've gone to. All the staff members at Jason's are so professional and friendly. You get greeted by everyone of them even if you just pass by someone who works there. Even though Jason's isn't the place that you get the most out your bucks (honestly, it's on the pricier side), there's something for everyone. It's relatively fast, clean, real food, and has free ice cream! I ordered chicken Alfredo pasta this time, but normally I stick with seafood gumbo and other soup items (I know I'm a "soupie"). You're not gonna expect the most amazing pasta you will have in your life, but I will leave this place with a comfortably-filled stomach and that's for sure. It's a corporation that's flourishing, and obviously they're doing something right. I will continue patronize them and know that if all else fails, at least find a Jason's when I can. P.S. In the spring they sent a salad with cheddar cheese and buttered croutons. Tonight, they sent a croissant and chocolate chip cookie... which both have butter. My job brings me up to Rockford and let's just say there aren't very many restaurant choices besides the regular fast food or chains. A co-worker suggested Jason's deli. Wow. If they don't recognize you they ask if it's your first visit to their restaurant. One yes later and I have a free cookie and ice cream. You've won my loyalty. Sometimes it's sad how easily I'm bribed with ice cream and cookies. I'm so weak. I had the Mediterranean wrap with tomato basil soup. The hummus was perfect. The tomato basil needed a little more seasoning but it was still good. They have a nice salad bar with all the fixings. The staff was extremely friendly and I would've continued to help myself to the ice cream bar if I didn't have to go back to work. But hey that's what the To Go container is for :) read more

Only sandwich shop in area open after nine, so I called to make sure that they were still open until 10 the person said yes, I got there at 9:40 the doors were open, but the manager turned me away and said they were closed.? I am kid of surprised by the incredible reviews here but I guess I can understand if it is solely based on the taste of the food. Service/Atmosphere: This place reminds me of the Sizzler's that used to be around when I was a kid. The giant salad bar in the center, ice cream, crackers. The menu is HUGE with an excellent vegetarian selection and options to customize. The staff was friendly and service speed was ok, about 20min from when we ordered to delivery of food to our table. It was a busy Saturday night so no dings there. My beef is with the cleanliness of the cooking area. Other places with open kitchens maybe do a better job of hiding the prep area, but this place is totally open, like a Subway. A little too open for me because it was a mess back there. I was a little worried about cross contamination and overall hygiene, but it was super busy, so that may be why Food: Really good food. The veg wrap was flavorful with fresh ingredients. The grilled zucchini sandwich had excellent flavor with good seasoning. Even the bow tie pasta was full of flavor, way better than I expected. Overall decent fast food at a sit down joint. We will definitely try it again to see what other options are available. Also next time we'll have to try the free ice cream. read more

Made first visit to a Jason's Deli. Food was great.It was fresh. Jaime at the front told us that with our purchase we could get $1.39 cups of soup. We were charged $4.49. I took up receipt and credit card used and showed we were overcharged. She said we must have missunderstood. She was going to credit us the amount. Then, she charged us again. Didn't and couldn't show a credit but charged us over $47.00 for 2 meals. Manager couldn't show me a credit either. The food again was very good. Staff not so. This restaurant was terrible. They messed up my simple spinach wrap order multiple times and gave me chips for a side when I clearly asked for veggies. I've been here a couple times now and I have to say this place makes a pretty good sandwich! I was a little confused when first entering this place because there is a machine to pay at if you want the salad bar. I have not tried their salad so this review is not of that. Towards the back of the store is where you can place other orders for sandwiches, soup, etc. The reason I did not write a review after the first time visiting is because of the managers or whoever was in charge that day (was not the owner), literally yelled at a few people while I was in line to order, which I thought was a little tacky. The place was really busy and the "runners" had several plates to be taken out to customers. This "manager" yelled at some lady for not taking two plates at a time. I know this has nothing to do with the food and customer service per se, but it did rub me the wrong way a tad. I felt he could have handled this differently. The second time I was there that manager was not there and everything went very smoothly! And even the first time I was there, I had no other qualms. The food was great and everyone was very polite and helpful! Now onto the food. My first endeavour I ordered the Cuban. Now if you've had a Cuban before, it is not made like an "original" Cuban but it sure was good! The bread was fantastic on this sandwhich. The second visit I ordered The New York Yankee...OMG! 3/4 Combo of Corned Beef and Pastrami!! This is the sandwich that I shall order from now on! I like big sandwiches ... and I cannot lie! This is one big sandwich and I ate all of it! If you like red meat and alot of it .. order this sandwich! Once dinner or lunch is over have some free ice cream. Vanilla, Chocolate or Swirl. 2/22/19 Update: Sad to say that this place is not what it used to be. The salad bar that was once well stocked is now constantly out of everything. The last 3 times we visited the salad bar was out off most of the key things. Tonight my wife had to ask the manager to refill and felt as if he was troubled by the request. Similar to a traditional diner, they used to deliver your order to your table and also pick up your dishes after you left. This was what made them different from most fast food places. There seemed to always be staff running orders and cleaning tables. Today you get a pager with your order and go pick it up but still leave dishes on the table... It's just confusing and there doesn't seem to be enough staff to even clean tables. The poor kid we saw who took our order was running seven ways to Sunday and seemed to really be doing all the work. Maybe if they at least hire a couple more to keep the salad bar stocked and tables clean I will be happy to return to 5 stars. And give the poor kid who worked at 6:30pm tonight a raise. He deserves it more than the manager does! Original: Consistency is the key here! Fresh and quality ingredients in all their meals. It is a little pricey but well worth the price. The staff are friendly and helpful and do a very good job keeping the place clean and running smoothly. This is my go-to place when I want a good salad. The salad bar is available as a takeout option, and they keep the bar well-stocked. No antibiotics, no preservatives, no nonsense. Just good food and good staff! read more

Yes, it's a chain. However, this is a brand new location, and the design is modern and clean. I'd been to locations in other cities, but the restaurants were nothing to look at. I normally try to patronize local small-business eateries when I come to Rockford, avoiding chains. However, I had limited time for lunch today so I made the decision to stop at Jason's Deli out of pure hunger (after reading the favorable Yelp reviews). I was pleasantly surprised with what I found inside. The atmosphere was quaint with a huge salad bar that took center stage. There was also an ice cream stand and a drink stand with REAL cups. I ordered the "make your own" sandwich -- roasted turkey and Swiss with chipotle aioli on a croissant -- with a cup of the spicy seafood gumbo. My server, Aaron, was very friendly and patient with my indecision. My food arrived swiftly after I got my drink -- and man, I love their ice (soft small pellets that are easy to chew)! My sandwich was delicious, although it came with a HUGE pile of plain from-a-bag ruffled potato chips that weren't exactly what I would have wanted, given the choice (which I wasn't). The chips lost this establishment a star --perhaps this can be earned back by later visits. The soup was SUPER spicy but so delicious that I didn't mind. I also enjoyed the free mini muffins and ice cream -- which was possibly the best soft serve I've ever eaten, topped with a dark chocolate sauce that was a perfect compliment. I will absolutely be back. The service was swift and friendly, the food was delicious and filling (despite the monstrous pile of boring and greasy chips), and free ice cream can't be beat. read more

We have been here before and like the variety. Their broccoli cheese soup is awesome and so is Reuben THE Great sandwich. We are working on trying to eat more fruit and that is offered as a substitute for the baked or regular chips. Problem is that they charge almost $2 to get fruit instead!
