In town for the weekend and deciding to grab sunday brunch as a group of seven with no reservation, i was pretty sure we were going to have to resort to a regular lunch spot when we pulled up to see a line out the door of the Eggstravaganza. However, once we poked our heads in and saw it was an ordering counter situation, the line moved rapidly. The dining area is quite small, but i cAn't fault them for not havIng enough room for a spontaneous, large group. Luckily, it was a nice enough day to sit outdoors. The service was fast and delicious! Pictured is my friend's falafel eggs benny- as i had dug into mine too quickly for a good photo. The price was of the more reasonable end for your standard brunch and the portions were liberal; my classic eggs benny+hash brown casserole was $12 and got me stuffed. I also got an iced almond milk latte which was delightful. They have a nice espresso set-up. Even though we sat outdoors and the inner dining room was packed, the friendly staff still checked in on us plenty. I see some reviews remarking on the ordering counter format. Personally i really dig it because you get the 'ugh i'm spending money on something unnecessary' feeling out of the way before you eat, which i feel improves a meal greatly. My only caveat would be that they lack a hearty option for vegan eaters. I think it'd serve them well to accommodate to this growing group. It was delightful, oozing with cheese and components. Wifey had olive, spinach and mushroom with z side of fruit. I had the hash browns for a side. Everything about the place was superb. It was clean, quaint and efficient. Food prep was fast and came to the table promptly. As an add on they provide favored waters - we chose lemon mint. It was an excellent! Their coffee was fresh brewed m. The place is not large, table arrangements probably accommodate about 50. Service was outstanding - their team steps up. This was my second visit to this restaurant, but my first to-go order. The shrimp and grits were overloaded with bell peppers, onions, and turkey sausage (I subbed the andouille sausage that it is originally made with for turkey sausage) that were cut into large chunks. This completely masked the flavor of the actual shrimp and grits. I received a total of 4 (perfectly cooked) shrimp. The grits were nice & smooth. I like the amount of customizations that that this restaurant offers for their online ordering system so next time I would remove the onions, peppers, and sausage and just literally order shrimp & grits. The best pierogi in town* I had searched for unique restaurants near where we were staying, and this place just kept hitting all the points that we were looking for. It just helps that this place is owned and run by a Polish family. Most of the Polish people that I've met relating to the food service industry in America have been amazing, and their attention to detail is like none other. Also, the name "Eggstravaganza" is a bit deceiving as you'll see because they have so much more to offer. Yes, they have eggs, but far more. The location is in a little unassuming strip mall in a nicer, more residential area. We just happened to arrive just before the morning rush, which was nice, but the ordering and seating arrangements were a bit funky at first. I assume that this is due to COVID, but having never been here prior, I cannot comment on that. It was still odd trying to order when we arrived. Be advised that this place has you sitting fairly close to other guests of the restaurant. This comment isn't in regards to COVID protocols (it could be though), but it is more aimed at being a part of your neighbor's conversations. I learned quite a bit about how an engine supposedly works from someone that had obviously never even seen an engine in their life. Rather entertaining to say the least. The food is great! The flavors are present and on-point, and did I mention the pierogis? Yeah, having pierogi for breakfast is something everyone should do at some point in their life. It's not a life-changing experience as you might think I'm about to imply, but it's something everyone should do because you can. How many times have you had ravioli or steamed pork dumplings for breakfast? Do it. I would like to visit this place during the week with theoretically less people. What a lovely little place. I got there before the rest of my party and the lady working helped me make a table that would accommodate us all. She then brought me my coffee and some angel wings while I waited for everyone to arrive. I got the savory crepe, it was a lot of food and so yummy!! My friends got the American breakfast (looked great!) and the flambé fruit waffle (which also looked fantastic!). I recommend going early. Also, just a heads up that you may want to ask what size beverage you're getting, as my friend got a macchiato, which was very authentically presented in a tiny mug. I got a Cuban, which was in a normal sized mug. I was so impressed by the level of service we received and you can tell everyone who works there really cares about the place. You order at the counter as soon as you walk in (On a busy day it can get crowded at the front door) and they will find you a seat and bring everything to you. I'd never had them before, but they were absolutely delightful! I ordered a Crepe with spinach, mushrooms, red onion, feta & parmesan cheese, a side of bacon and sausage, and a cappuccino. The hubby ordered a sausage and bacon skillet. We ordered Ricotta Pancakes with fruit, to share. The menu doesn't do justice to the the way they prepare everything, for example, they flambé the fruit they put on the pancakes, so the flavor is next level! Everything was glorious! The portions were generous, the service is on point, and the atmosphere is cozy. They even have art on the walls for sale; which I thought was neat. Very crowded. Patrons who aren't eating are waiting in the establishment without mask. 6ft apart? No more like 1ft. I could feel people breathing on me. Then to make matters worse I waited over a hour for food. No one stopped to check in, not even ONCE. We never got the angel wings, and wouldn't have if we would not have asked after waiting 50 minutes. I've been here before and never had this problem, now I doubt I'll ever be back. It's really the customer service that was lacking. It was awful to see other patrons being waited on and we sit in the corner like the "red headed step child" with no acknowledgement. If we didn't pay beforehand we would of left 30 minutes ago. Still waiting for food and it's been a hour... Update: After finally speaking with someone, they argued with us and then the food came...it wasn't hot. Let alone warm. read more
