We've lived in the area for awhile and were surprised we haven't checked out this local spot until recently. We LOVE going for breakfast to grab a bagel (mostly as a breakfast sandwich). The first time I went for lunch I got the Asian chicken salad and loved it, but this visit the chicken was pretty tough to chew. I also got the 1/2 Italian sandwich which was good, but lacking something(like a sauce). The staff has always been friendly to us, but the major issue is that there have been flies seen within the restaurant and around the kitchen. This makes me question how sanitary the food preparation actually is. read more

This café has a nostalgic small-town vibe, but inside leans more toward grungy high school cafeteria or truck stop than cozy spot. It was smoky from the kitchen, the radio was staticky, flies were everywhere, and many tables needed cleaning. The whole place felt like it could use some TLC. I ordered the huevos rancheros breakfast sandwich on a bagel. The bagel itself was excellent - thinner, crispier, and really well done. The toppings were mixed: bacon was decent, jalapeño cream cheese with pepper jack was the highlight, but the egg tasted like a pre-cooked patty. The biggest letdown was the coffee. It was bitter and tasted more like brewed coffee poured into milk than a true espresso drink, I took two sips and threw it out, it was so bad I couldn't finish it. Flavored drinks rely on Torani syrups, which adds to the diner feel but doesn't make up for the lack of quality. Service was inconsistent, with some kind staff but others less welcoming. Overall, the food had a few bright spots, but between the undrinkable coffee, atmosphere, and lack of cleanliness, it's a 2-2.5 star experience for me. read more

This is a cute local cafe with lots of room to spread out, so I was disappointed when the food wasn't great. I got one of their breakfast sandwiches, and there wasn't a lot of meat or cream cheese on it. Additionally, the bagel was very doughy and underdone. The food also took a hot second to come out even though the place was fairly empty. My friend and I split one of their pastries, and it was extremely dry and lacking flavor. I really wanted to like this spot, but sadly it let me down. I might come back and try their lunch options because I've heard they are great. Maybe breakfast is just their weak spot. read more

I've been to City Limits a few times, but the last time was probably like 10 years ago. The vibes inside feel like a small town diner, but with a really big space. We went to get some breakfast on a Saturday morning and while we were a couple of just a few customers eating inside, they constantly were getting to go orders. We ordered a couple of the baninis, specifically the Southern Banini and the Egg & Cheese Banini. They even have an option where you can just get egg whites! The bagels are freshly made and you can pretty much choose whichever one you want. In addition to these my boyfriend also got a coffee and I got the pomegranate green tea. Pomegranate green tea is one of my favorites. Theirs was a little sweeter than I was expecting, but yummy nonetheless. Parking is really easy with a big shared lot right out front. Since we went for breakfast this time, I would be curious to see what their food is like later in the day! read more

Simply put... this is a fantastic stop for breakfast or brunch. Friendly staff are ready to take your order as soon as you walk through the door. Menus are located above the order and counter so it may take a minute for you to figure out exactly what you want.... (The selection is awesome!) For this trip we had an egg, white and pepper Jack cheese croissant. Delicious but it kinda fell apart in the Panini press so my wife gave it only a four. My choice to say "California Banini." -- a dried tomato bagel, with eggs, garden veggie cream cheese, a touch of provolone, and a layer of spinach. You might ask, "no meat?" (cause I'm a stick on the mud breakfast sausage kinda guy...) Nope! this delightful sandwich simply needed nothing more than what it came with. Flavors reminded me of an Italian Riviera breakfast on a sunny morning. Truly was spot on! And coffee? Yes, please! I've tried this cafe a few times and every time there are issues. The cold sandwiches are a small slice of meat, cheese lettuce and bread. The coffee pots are empty, the bathroom isn't stocked with soap or towels, but my last visit was my LAST. They buy such cheap coffee cups and lids, my coffee spilled while drinking it. City Limits is a divey yet cozy cafe on the outskirts of Bellevue, making its title aptly named. The chairs are an amalgamation of metal and wooden, and the tables themselves feel eclectic. Well-loved would be a great way to describe everything here. I came here on a Saturday afternoon to get a late lunch, and I got their deli Italian option. The service was lightning fast and polite. The sandwich was enormous, large enough for two complete meals and then some. Flavor-wise, I wished for some dressing or seasoning: it was a bit dry. I'm looking forward to revising this review once I try their coffee options and other food offerings! Plenty of parking can be found in a private lot. read more

Employee rang up tuna salad as upcharge while manager was watching over shoulder. I pointed out the menu and asked why. She shrugged and said she didn't make the menu. Sandwich only includes chips. Recently at City Limits I had great service, a perfect chai latte and delicious asparagus soup. Although they are a casual, unpretentious cafe I'd eat there any day over some modern, fancy spot. It's a nice local place to go and a truly enjoy any meal I've had there! I'm updating my previous review since I think that really there's everything I look for in a neighborhood spot. Their drink menu isn't huge but they do have all the basics and some fun frozen drinks. My sister and I stopped by here in preparation for baby shower day. We ordered a bagel tray. It came nicely prepared, but it took quite a while to check out. They seemed quite confused. We had a terrible experience because he asked for a catering box of coffee to go, and the man/worker walked out from the back with a lid in his mouth. When we asked for a new lid he said he didn't have anymore. He was extremely rude. He didn't even try to make it right. There's no way I would ever turn here. In the ultra expensive Nashville cafe scene, this was a nice find. It's tucked away from the hustle and bustle, so you don't have to wait. The food was good and the coffee was tasty. I took away a star, because there was a bit of a fly problem by the coffee cups. If that was taken care of, this place would be a 5 star for sure. read more

This is a hidden gem! I came on a Saturday morning and it was full but not too busy or crowded. I got a croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage, cheese, and egg. The kind of weird thing was they made it into a panini, but regardless it was very tasty. I've been searching for a certain muffin in town since high school and I finally found one here! Hate to put bad review but it is what it is...I was at the place for breakfast on a Sunday morning. 1. minus a star for the smoke that fills the whole seating area which was probably coming from kitchen. 2. minus another star for the old bread that was crumbling which came with my egg salad sandwich. 3. last taken star for the luke warm soup. I took it back to the boy at the counter saying it is not hot: he replied: no it is not warm, steam is coming of off it. Why do I have to insist and explain if I or a costumer wants a simple nuke for2 mins!? When they re heated the soup , it was nuked may be for 20 sec and was almost the same. I like that my egg and cheese croissant had a real egg in it - not that stuff that comes out of a carton. It was grilled on a panini press which was nice/unusual. It seemed like it was missing something. It would cost nearly nothing if theyd add a little garnish like an orange slice on the side, the same way a lunch sandwich would come with a pickle slice. Strawberries go bad too fast and melon is too wet whereas oranges keep well for a few days, and orange would cut the oilyness of a grilled sandwich. Not that they were oily - you know, like fried foods - the paper they're wrapped in absorbs a lot of it. Hey. Orange slice :-). But it tasted really good and my husband said his breakfast sandwich was also good and had a good amount of bacon on it. Cost was about $5.25 each plus tax. read more

Attention to detail and care goes into everything prepared, and it shows. Very down to earth atmosphere, unpretentious and quality ingredients. A bagel breakfast sandwich sounded like a great meal before our hike at Percy Warner hike nearby, so we decided to check this place out. Ambience inside is very casual and no frills, and seems like a place that has a lot of local regulars. My biggest complaint is that my order was messed up - I ordered 2 huevos rancheros and 1 egg and cheese, and somehow ended up with only 1 huevos rancheros and found bacon in my egg and cheese when I hadn't asked for any. I checked my receipt after (obviously should have checked it after I ordered) and saw that I had been charged extra for the bacon I didn't ask for and one of my huevos rancheros was missing from the order. Other than that, food was good/average, I do like that they panini press the bagel sandwiches (bagel + panini = banini) so it held together nicely and was very warm. I would still consider trying this place out again, clearly they have a lot of regulars for a reason and their prices are really cheap! read more

I live in Murray, Kentucky, but my daughter and her family live about six blocks from City Limits. They have wonderful selections for either breakfast or lunch. I am SOLD on their Mushroom and Brie soup (especially in a bread bowl) and their Cudan Sandwich. My wife's favorite is the Chicken Cranberry Salad... Suffice it to say that the entire family has their particular favorites. EVERYONE LOVES the monster chocolate chip cookies. If you are lucky enough to find day old bagels, buy them! They are terrific! We order pick-up every Friday now. But better not wait until noon to call in. They will be too busy-they are that good. read more
