NEW Asian shop on the block :D Located the same plaza as A Corner Cafe, Eggtart Queen 酥妃皇后 is currently soft opening, and is best known for their egg tarts! There are also plenty of items to discover on their menu, like stuffed mochis, cookies, steamed rice dishes, healthy soups, drinks and many more! Since they are currently soft opening, the selection of egg tarts is quite limited. I was told they will have the full egg tart collection by end of August 2022 or beginning of next month. So far, I have tried their Crispy Egg tart, Ginger Milk Crispy Eggtart (my favourite!), and Nescafe Butter Eggtart - tbh, they were all really tasty, and served warm! We also ordered lunch and drinks. I really enjoyed the Steamed minced pork with dried silver fish on rice 銀魚仔蒸肉餅飯. Steamed minced pork is one of my favourite Asian comfort food growing up as a kid; it brings back a lot of childhood memories ^^ Very thankful that there are 4 different steamed minced pork to choose from! Tried it first time even though they have been open for years. Their eggtarts are fairly big and milky frcompared to other bakeries and at $2.99 to $3.59 and with different flavour selections, it is worth going. For breakfast items starting from $11.99, while it does come with a small coffee or tea and some even with an egg tart, some are lacking as it doesn't come with many ingredients and mostly just noodle or rice. Service is fairly quick as each order of 1 or 2 items coming out of kitchen every 5 to 10 mins. If you do manage to get seating, as it is limited to 6 tables of 2 only, it is quite an enjoyable quiet place to have your meal. Would i go back again? Yes. First time to be here for breakfast last sat. My husband and I tried two combos, one for Satay beef instant noodle, another for Spiced pork cubes vermicelli. Each combo included an egg tart and drink around $10 + tax each. Similar price with other places for breakfast. But I didn't expect that the taste of food is really yummy. Especially cookie crust egg tart, it's silky, fluffy with crispy crust and the tart size is bigger than the other bakery. I also got another six tarts and mango mochi for take out. 3.5 stars. We want to have some nice egg tarts. After researching, we decided to visit this store. There are indeed many flavors of egg tarts to choose from. Unfortunately the egg one with the flaky crust was out, and the wait was 25 minutes. Luckily the one with the butter crust just came out of the oven. We bought that one, and one of each of coconut and milk in flaky crust. The taste of the the egg tart was sweet, but good. Unfortunately the egg filling was too soft, and so the crust fell apart. That was a shame. Not sure if its because the filling is too hot. The coconut and milk ones in the flaky skin were good, and the crust did not fall apart, maybe because of the fact that the filling was cold. We also bought 2 mochis and a mango pancake. The mochis were not too impressive, but the pancake was good. Another issue was the drink menu. There was a huge poster at the front of the store showing the drink offerings. However I was told the store only had iced tea and coffee. The iced milk tea was very good, but I could not get what my daughter wanted. All in all, it was a nice visit. Will I come back again? For a place that specializes in egg tarts they also sell a lot of mochi and other random things! I just tried the egg tarts which are pricier than most but also quite a bit larger so I guess the mark-up is not as ridiculous. They offer a good variety of flavours, and my favourite was the plain egg white custard one. I'd come back to try different flavours as I think it can be quite hit or miss. The ginger one was pretty good but the matcha red bean one was a dud and tasted really weird. I also preferred the cookie crust over the flakey one but that's just a personal preference. This small Asian bakery specializes in eggtarts and mochi. We saw this shop pop-up on our tiktok and knew we had to give it a try! They have different flavours of eggtarts in a HK style. We tried a few flavours: - Buttermilk - Molten cheese - Extra Rich Creamy - Crispy Milk - Butter All the eggtarts were pretty thick and the custard was smooth. Some shells were more flaky and crispy than others, but the overall flavours and taste were good. We didn't find them too heavy and the sizes were quite big. Passed by this bakery as I was walking to another restaurant and decided to try it out. Overall, the store is nice, aside from egg tarts, they also have savoury dishes available for lunch. I got the ginger egg tart, sesame egg tart, original egg tart and the cheese tart. With the exception of the cheese tart, I got the flaky crust for all of them. The flavoured egg tarts are not flavourful. I couldn't taste any sesame flavour in the sesame one and the ginger one had only a very mild taste of ginger. The egg custard is much softer than I like. Almost a pudding so I wasn't a huge fan of the texture. The flaky crust was nice, very buttery. Overall, it wasn't worth the price. The one thing I will mention is that their egg tarts are on the larger size so that partially made up for the price. Not sure if I would come back again. read more

Curious, I decided to check it out and noticed this must've opened recently as I frequent this plaza on a regular basis. I'm a huge fan of egg tarts so I decided to join the line to try them out. For me, it took about 20 mins to get to the cashier and I was able to choose from a variety of different flavoured egg tarts. Some were also made crispier than others. Egg tarts are bigger than the average size and tasted really good. I got the butter egg tart and it was particularly flavourful. This establishment also offers other food and drink items (see photos) that complement the egg tarts. I used to love their extra rich flaky crusted egg tarts, but they've gotten so watery that the shells have actually collapsed. Mill tea is probably one of the worst I've ever had. Super watered down it tastes like hot water + milk. Wasted $2.99

The egg tarts are not bad and there are many different flavors. We tried both the butter cookie and flaky crusts, both were okay. However the eggtarts themselves don't stand up to the store name. Many of the eggtarts on display were over baked as there were cracks in the custard. Also, many of the custards and split from the crust. If I'm paying almost $3 per eggtart, there should be better quality control! They do have other options such as drinks, mochi and quick eats that I did not try. I've been here a few times for their butter egg tarts. If you like sweet and crispy egg tarts, I'd recommend them. Yes - the price point is higher than most other egg tarts in town but the size and filling is more than what you typically get. That said, I'd still only get them when there's no lineups. I have read the not so positive reviews before coming to this place, so I don't have much expectations for this place. But I think I should at least give it a try since I haven't went before... We bought 6 tart since they give u discount if you buy 6. So we got 3 egg tart (signature items supposedly I guess), one durian flavour, one cheese flavour and one savoury one - satay beef. The egg tart is really fresh off the oven when we bought them with the egg still puffing up from the internal heat. This will make the tart taste a lot better when fresh off oven like that. Maybe I started off with no expectation, so the egg is actually better than I thought it would be. The flaky pastry is nicely done with butter flavour and the egg is baked perfectly and quite soft. It's not a bad egg tart I gotta say (4 stars). Quality is comparable to "You and Me" bakery! But it is not cheap either in my opinion so factoring in the quality and price, I give it a 3 stars to 3.5 stars... The satay beef one is actually quite good and abit of cheese crust on top and the satay beef fillings do taste like satay beef.. lol.. worth a try too in my opinion! It is a nice egg tart place and I think you should still give this place a try if u havent try and live in the area. When this place first opened, there were always lines and the egg tarts were always sold out. I finally got to try their egg tarts last week - I had the butter pastry tart. It was bigger than a usual egg tart (also more expensive but I didn't feel ripped off since it was bigger). The pastry was well done and not thick. The food and service is excellent. However they do not have a bathroom and just puts up a sign that says "Washroom is not in service". In fact the washroom is at the back of the kitchen and customers are not allowed back there anyway. They only put a sign there because they know it's against regulations to have dine in and not have washroom for customers. read more

Love the egg tarts from here. I'm normally not a fan of flaky crust, but I would get flaky crust from here (even though my fav is still butter crust). Love the ginger milk one. Been here about 3 times, first time was a Sunday afternoon, so for sure there was a line up. Other 2 times were a weekday around 10am, so the first 'rush' of people were gone. I could give 0 star if possible. False advertising. We came around 2:30pm today and saw the big sign outside of the door advertising 2 drinks for $10 so I decided to line up. Lined up for almost an hour and they said they don't have drink now because they don't have enough tea??? I understand that soft opening is busy but come on- is it that hard to take away the sign if you can't make drinks??? I don't even want to comment on the food. The ladies serving behind the counter were super nice. This place was busy and then died down throughout the time we were there. Even when there was a line, it went by pretty quickly. The only waiting was for hot food or fresh egg tarts. We tried a few egg tarts and didn't love any of them. The original ones, crispy and butter, didn't have enough egg for my personal taste. The durian one was okay, it could have used more durian. The black sesame one was disappointing, it lacked flavour, it's only black on top then grey in the centre. The ginger milk one was okay, and again, it could use more flavour. All the egg tarts we tried were "not too sweet." The satay beef Nissin instant noodles was not bad and quite affordable as it came with a hot beverage and an egg tart. The mochi is too soft, and the Cheung Chau style mango was way too tart. Yumm egg tarts! This was my second time here at Egg Tart Queen but the first time being able to make it through the doors to purchase the goodies. I did try their egg tarts and mochis the first time at a friend's house and the fresh mango and taro mochi did leave a good impression. This now second time around, we arrived on a mid afternoon on Sunday and there was a small line. From what I see, they could really up the staff count so that more people could take the egg tart orders + add another cashier station. Otherwise, there is always a line up. Now back to the sweet treats, I ordered half a dozen egg tarts and seven mochis. I really enjoyed the durian pastry egg tart as well as the ginger milk tart. As for the mochi, the regular mango mochi and durian mochi were yummy. A call out on try mochi skin, they do need to work on the thickness as it is not consistent especially when some are thick and some are thin. The egg tarts were fragrant and I enjoyed how they had a variety of specialty flavours. For people who like chocolate or coconut, you'll love the choices! Generally these treats are good but could improve with better quality control as well as the overall service. It shouldn't take 20+ mins to get egg tarts and unfortunately their debit machine didn't work that day. Thankful I had cash or I would've wasted a lot of time just waiting and starring at all these dessert pastries. Wednesday of last week week, I walked into Eggtart queen the two older ladies behind the counter looked annoyed that I walked in and started berating me for not speaking in Cantonese. While ordering they told me that everything I ordered was either not available or that it was sold out. As I was about to leave the next person behind me was able to order the so called "unavailable items" or the items they told me was already "sold out". Its not as great as other people have said it was. They treat their customers like some sort of entertainment for them if they don't speak the same language or are of different ethnicity and they leave their pudding out to the point where it's basically dissolving at the bottom of the cup (as in it has separated) and then advertise it as a mousse (which it isn't because mousse should never have the consistency of water) I've seen some of them sneeze in their hands and touch the food, they treat their employees like shit, and they don't have much variety for their food. Yes, their food isn't as expensive as some food places now and their shop is placed across from Markview mall, however their food is mediocre or can cause you to have a stomach ache, they clearly don't understand how to store food properly I've heard form others and read some reviews that their sign which states 2 drinks for $10 is often time not available and they don't actually tell people who have been waiting outside for hours just to try their drinks. I would give this place 0 stars but unfortunately I can't, their egg tarts are indeed bigger than other places but their not very worth it if it's either under cooked or decorated with an eyelash or even both. It also doesn't help that you can tell if their making fun of you in the kitchen when they have a big window to display how they make their food.
