Wife and I have gone to this location many times since they opened. The location offers a clean, country ambiance. They have a great breakfast selection as well as some lunch options. I have tried nearly everything here and it never disappoints. From their Southern Benedict with eggs over sausage and fluffy biscuits smothered in a great tasting country sausage gravy, to their tasty waffles or chicken fried steak/chicken, you can't go wrong. They also have what I believe are some of the best grits in the area! My wife also raves over their fresh squeezed orange juice. It is a bit pricey but worth it for the fresh flavor (made onsite in a machine press). If I had any negatives it is not on the restaurant itself, but there seem to be many customers who come to this location who take cell calls on speaker, oblivious to where they are, or feeling like it is their personal office. It is obviously a difficult situation for staff who may not want to confront this issue. I would ask the owner consider putting up signs on the table tops or at least on the door entry asking customers to take calls outside out of consideration to others. My wife and I have started to go elsewhere to eat when making a choice, mainly because of this issue. It isn't a once every 5 visits thing, rather nearly every time. Perhaps some are daily customers, but allowing the few to disrupt the majority can run people off. It's one of the newest brunch spots in Lithia. Definitely a well needed one for this eastern part of Hillsborough. It's located on the corner of County Road 39 and Lithia Pinecrest. They changed their name from Brunchin to EggTown. It's the same great restaurant (same owner). I honestly think the new name is a better fit. It has an open and welcoming feel to it. The tables are spaced at a good distance so it doesn't feel cramped. The décor is modern and clean looking. The service was fantastic from the start. We were greeted right away. We started with our coffee orders. My husband wanted regular coffee, and I decided to try the southern pecan flavor of the day. They have a chalk board with daily specials, muffin flavors, and seasonal items such as strawberry stuffed waffles. I was impressed with many of the items on the menu (particularly the benedicts & pancakes). They even have 2 flavors of pancakes/waffles for those on a GF diet. I was curious to try the pumpkin pancakes, but ended up selecting the Southern Benedict. My husband got the Southern Skillet. We were both in a sausage gravy kind of mood and it totally satisfied us. What I love is that you can substitute the seasoned potatoes for grits, or make other substitutions at no extra charge. My husband asked for sausage instead of bacon and marble rye toast instead of biscuits. Everything we had was delicious! The scrambled eggs were so fluffy. The best scramble I've had in a while. The gravy was tasty. The portions are huge. We couldn't eat it all. The coffee was topped off when needed. They have half & half creamer as well as flavored creamers. It's everything we wanted. First time here, but it's now my new favorite brunch spot! I am a HUUUUGE FAN of Bennies. They have 10 different types of Bennies!!! So, yes, this is why I'm in love with this new brunch spot. I also love omelettes, which they also have a nice selection of omelettes. I was torn between ordering the Salmon Benedict or Steak Benedict. I ended up ordering the Steak Benedict, which was super yummy! Hubby ordered the Meat Lovers Omelette (subbed pepper jack cheese & added jalapeños), side of bacon & half order of biscuits & gravy. He loved his omelette. We both loved the biscuits & gravy. The biscuit was super soft & buttery. I prefer biscuits with a crunchy crust & soft interior, but this was soft all around... still very good though. Their sausage gravy is delicious. Hubby liked the bacon but I wasn't too impressed only because it wasn't crispy. I'll just have to remember to order it crispy next time. I know some people prefer soft bacon so they probably decided to go half way. Oh! Their coffee is good too. We will definitely be back here to try more of their delicious food. Service was excellent. My not great review is really based on the food. Idk about y'all but times are tough so when I go eat brunch I want something hot, fresh and delicious. Unfortunately I find these past reviews misleading. The food presents looking good but it doesn't take long to notice the potatoes looked soggy? Not crispy or flavored with seasoning. The bacon was room temperature and did not look or smell fresh from today. My country fried steak did not feel fresh fried in my mouth, it was also soggy and the breading was odd. Eggs where average can't do much about that. Biscuit was cold and also not fresh looking. Now I will say the $10 fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious but very overpriced. I don't mean to be rude but if you're charging first watch prices I want first watch quality food. There was a short wait for a table to be seated. Not sure if it was busy because it just recently opened and people wanted to give it a try or if its people returning. Time will tell. There is not much seating in the restaurant, I think they could have fit a few more tables in without crowding people and there is outdoor seating. Our first reaction was how loud it was. There is no carpeting or curtains, etc. to absorb the noise. It was hard to carry on a conversation because of the cochophony of noise. If we go back, we would definitely wait for a seat outside because of that. We were greeted soon after being seated and received drinks quickly. They only serve breakfast, brunch and lunch items. There had a decent variety of both but definitely leaned a lot more towards breakfast items. I am not a breakfast eater but found enough variety of non egg/waffle/pancake items. I ordered the reuben sandwich. It was a good size sandwich with lots of meat and cheese and nice marble bread. The fries were very light and seasoned well. I could only eat half the sandwichand took half home. My friend ordered the Grilled Raisin Pecan Chicken Salad Sandwich. She had a choice of fries or potato salad. She chose the potato salad. She said it was good but couldn't find but a couple pecans in the sandwich. She ordered the iced coffee. She found it VERY strong and she is a real coffee drinker who drinks coffee all day. Things are pricy but the food is good. The iced coffee was $5.00. The bill for the rueben, chicken sandwich and iced coffee was about $30 without a tip. So not what too many people can afford on a daily basis. I don't think there was anything under $10 except for add ons. But it was nice for a treat. The staff was nice and friendly. read more
