Joanne and I went to Eggtown tonight for dinner. This is my review. I am glad to be able to give a positive review because it is such a wonderful amenity to our community to have a nearby place to have a relaxed, modestly priced, sit down dinner. Please consider supporting this business expansion so that it remains available to us. This does not appear to be an experiment to see how it goes. All of the signs, including outdoor signs, have been updated or replaced to announce that the business is open for dinner. The dining room is too bright. I suggested to server, who passed my comment on, that they should figure out how to dim the lights or turn some of them off. Speaking of the server, she was very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Our server's name was Ava, and she is an immigrant of Greek and Albanian descent, who has been in the United States for 29 years. Ava happily brewed a fresh pot of decaf for us and offered drinks for us to take with us. We were given the regular menu and a dinner supplement. I have attached copies of the dinner supplement and you can see there are varied options--and you can also see how reasonably priced the options are. Portion sizes were great. Too much for us, anyway. I had the fried shrimp platter and the $13.95 price included the shrimp, french fries, sauteed green beans and a really nice dinner salad. Joanne had the chicken salad croissant sandwich. She really liked her sandwich. I liked my dinner but being candid, I would be surprised if the shrimp were breaded in house as opposed to prepared and frozen by the purveyor. I will try something different next time or will have the shrimp grilled. Portions were plentiful. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. Usually this is my favorite place for breakfast but on today's visit they were a little off their game. Service seemed a bit slow. I ordered the meat lovers omelette with biscuit and home fries but was told they were out of biscuits @ 10:30 am. How is that possible? Given the restaurant's name and prior reviews, I went with what I assumed to be the restaurant's wheelhouse. I special ordered an omelette with American cheese, onions and ham. The egg part of the omelette was paper thin. It was loaded with ham and onions, but there was barely any cheese. As a result, the ingredients were not bound together and when cut, the ham and onions spilled out. In the end, I was eating a bunch of onions and ham. Overall Value - below average. Eva came out shortly and greeted me with a warm smile. We chatted for a bit and she took my order after steering me towards the avocado omelette. What an amazing gathering of flavors! The home fries were some of the best I've had and had a hint of diced onions and seasoning to keep it flavorful. Coffee was on point. My bill came out to $19.57, which is the norm these days. Finally this restaurant opened. We've been pretty inpatient waiting for this. Well, we missed the opening because it's been open for a month! OMG, what a beautiful place. It was our first time here so I wanted to try everything on the menu, and my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach! Pancakes were crazy good, but they're huge, so we took some home.
