Wooden Spoon in Brandon is a comfortable and great choice for breakfast or lunch with good service. Arrived early morning, the inside setting appeared relaxed with tables or booths plus a patio area. Ordered take-out through website, menu has a variety of choices. First order: two-egg breakfast with grilled pork chop, home fries and biscuit. Second order: Ultimate omelette with grits plus side orders of bacon and extra biscuit. Both orders were winners -- worth repeating or trying out other menu choices, most definitely a return visit. Food was delicious. Grilled pork chop nice size, well seasoned and tender; home fries good portion & nicely prepared; creamy tasting grits; side of bacon and the biscuits are raised (not flat), nice size, flaky, light and also great tasting. Cost-wise comparable to area dining and now added as a new favorite. Wooden Spoon is located at 865 Lithia-Pinecrest Road past Lumsden intersection in same shopping plaza as Walmart Neighborhood Market. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 7:00am-2:00pm (813) 655-5556 or website: thewoodenspoondinerbrandon

Stopped in for lunch after having labs done. My wife had the shrimp dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli. She absolutely loved it she gave it 9.1 . I had the pork tenderloin sandwich with fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw was delicious and the fries were seasoned to perfection. The pork tenderloin was absolutely delicious seasoned and cooked to perfection 9.1. The service was great very friendly. If you are in the Brandon seffner Riverview area this is a must try place.

The food could be improved. The food is pretty bland. I had the country fried steak and fried potatoes and neither were that good. The potatoes were cold and are too thinly sliced and the steak seasoning and gravy were lack luster.

On the weekends be prepared for a wait. It is a small diner so seating is limited. They have servers , who are pretty nice. It isn't loud unless it is busy. For the price, the food is good. They run daily specials and serve wine and mimosas. All you can eat fish on Fridays Taco Tuesday Wing Wednesdays Pancakes are huuuuge

I really like this breakfast spot! First time checking it out. It's a local spot in Brandon. They take call aheads which is nice, especially on a Sunday. The employees are extremely friendly and accommodating. This place reminds me of a small mom/pop diner. The vibes were good and so was the service. Jackie was our server and she was the sweetest! She took very good care of my family. A plus, they do serve alcohol here so of course I got a few mimosas. My dad got a couple bloody mary's. The presentation was beautiful! I ordered rick's combo with scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, and french toast. I was starving and forgot to take a picture of my food, but it was very tasty and totally worth the visit. I will for sure be making this a regular!

Food was tasty. I little pricey. $5.30 for a single specialty pancake? A little ridiculous. Asked for club soda bc you can't drink Florida tap water, $3.49. $26 with tax n tip for lunch for one person.

Was planning going fishing on this Saturday morning and there were small craft advisories so we went and had breakfast instead and we just picked the place and Brandon and went and checked it out. It's a little mom and pop place and it was really good. The service was very good as well as the customer service. There's a lot of seating inside and you can also sit outside if need be. We put our order in and received our meals fairly quickly and they're sweet tea was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast and it was a lot of food. I would definitely suggest any of you guys out there reading this review to come and make a visit to The Wooden Spoon Diner, he will not be disappointed.

We absolutely love coming to Wooden spoon diner for breakfast or lunch. We met in the middle and decided to do brunch and I have to say the cinnamon roll pancakes are award winning, I could eat those things everyday it doesn't matter what time of the day it is! My kids are always fascinated by the Mickey Mouse pancakes and my oldest got the chicken tenders and they were good. If you want to start your day off right then this is the place you go too.

I didn't want to write this review, because I want to keep this little gem of a restaurant all to myself (and the people that already know how good it is). The staff was really polite and worked to make sure we were completely satisfied. We were definitely happy with our meal and the service. See you again soon.

Environment very nice and friendly staff. They have a variety of food. Omelete was good. Philly cheesesteak was good.

I stopped by recently with a friend for brunch around 11am. It was relatively empty when I arrived and there was plenty of parking, but I imagine that might get a little difficult when the crowds pick up during the weekend. Bartender was wonderful and she poured drinks STRONG! You really can't beat their Irish breakfast deal - $15.99 and it includes either 2 Bloody Marys or drinks up to $10 in value. The breakfast was really good and filling. This is a plastic silverware kind of place and if you don't drink, you'll only find off brand soda to choose from. But if you love a good dive bar with some pub food and strong drinks, this is your spot! I'll be back.

They did have fish and chips but it's served with cole slaw and not mushy peas. I was hoping to see dishes like toad in a hole or bangers and mash. No such luck. Our server said they do serve a proper English breakfast on the weekends. I guess I'll have to give it a try. If I do I'll be sure to revise my review. Service was fairly quick until it was time to pay the bill. I had to go up to the counter to get this done.

Food smashed into the dirty carpet, menus smeared with grease, slimy handprints on every glass and plastic surface. Is the place cleaned by toddlers?! If the missed health standards aren't enough to deter people (wish I'd read those beforehand), the layers of grime should be a red flag. If that's what customers are seeing, imagine the kitchen. Also, the food was bad. Like everything. Grisly gnarled chicken, inedible, dry cornbread, and nasty mac and cheese. I didn't try anything else because it was so gross. My family members also hated their food. Staff waited until the last minute to refill things as it seemed like someone is opting to cut some sharp corners. Again, I felt bad for everyone working there. It seemed busy enough to turn a profit, yet there was something depressing about the vibe. I came here last year with my dad, and it wasn't like this, so it was disappointing. We were relieved to get out for under $100, but it was just nightmare fuel. Not worth it. Owners need to be more involved in operations here.

Colombian spots like this are my jam & it's been on my list to visit for a minute now. The breakfast Sammy definitely set this place apart from the rest. I'd never heard of this before and honestly it's quite genius. I went on a Saturday morning and boy was it busy busy! I placed my order with the friendly attendant the wait was a bit long but there was plenty of seating inside (i didn't realize how big this place was inside!) so i sat with my book and before i knew it i was walking out with my order! Thankfully i don't live far so i was home with my order in no time. The breakfast waffle Sammy was delicious i ordered mine with sausage and split half of it with my husband. It was soft and cheesy and I'd definitely get it again next time. I also ordered 3 regular pan de Bonos, an arepa con queso, alfajores, and i heard the guava and cheese muffins were a must so i grabbed one too. Oh yeah and two cafe con leches. I see they have lunch as well so I'm gonna have to go back for a lunch Sammy and maybe some empanadas. I love that they have all the tables inside. It's a cute spot to meet with friends for cafecito and treats.

That kind of attention to detail does not go unnoticed They were out of the sweet teas (I was hurt a little bit ), but overall the experience was still really good. Now let's get into the food because you already know that's what we're here for The chicken empanadas? Delicious. No complaints. The Cuban sandwich? It was good... but I'm gonna keep it real like I always do. The meat was flavorful, but it could've been more evenly distributed, and it didn't have that crispy bread texture I look for. Overall, it just didn't hit that top-tier level for me. So for this location: 8/10 Still a solid experience, still worth the visit -- but as of right now, the Wesley Chapel location is still holding that 10/10 crown And you already know I'm not done...
