Voted best Cuban Sandwich for 16 years and the people got it right! So flavorful. The Cuban bread is soft inside and crunchy outside. All the way is lettuce and tomato included and it adds to the Cuban for sure. The shakes are also amazing I've tried chocolate and strawberry and both are fresh tasting. There are benches and picnic tables available to sit. They are usually busy but the staff moves quickly to provide good service.

    Me and the best!

I was spending some quality time with my uncle, aunt, and cousins (through friendship, not through blood) and was having so much fun catching up with them. Being an avid Yelper who desires to keep the prestige of Yelp Orlando elites in play, I made sure to check out a local restaurant, one that other Yelpers as well as the locals admire. Ergo, I decided on The Strawberry Hut because of its claim to fame: the best Cuban sandwiches, which I assume in the Tampa area, for 15 years in a row. First and foremost, when The Strawberry Hut said they were the best Cuban, I had to default to Tampa Cubans. For most places, especially in Miami's Little Havana District, a Cuban sandwich is literally six ingredients: Cuban bread, pork grease or butter, ham, pulled pork, pickles, and mustard. That is it. Tampa Cubans are different as they add a bit of freshness to it via lettuce and tomato. If you take the aforementioned into account, then you'll enjoy the Tampa Cuban and yes, they deserve their flowers. However, if you are one of those homeland Cuban sandwich only fellas, you'll probably scream blasphemy. I myself enjoy them all and know that you gotta break out of tradition if you want to improve because growth is in innovation. With that said, my uncle and I ordered our Cubans, along with the rest of his family, through the order window. There was a decent line even after lunchtime. Shows how popular this joint is. The wait wasn't horrendous and the day was beautiful. There is a shaded area for people to wait for their food and a dining area with picnic tables complete with umbrellas for those who want to eat on site. As for the menu, very arrayed with the choices. Many versions of Cubans to pick from. Went with their most popular choice and I wasn't disappointed. Also ordered a milkshake. Makes you forget that Mickey D's ice cream and milkshake machines are always broken. Spend more money for this milkshake over a cheap delicious alternative, any day of the week. Prices are fair and if I knew, would have gotten breakfast which is served all day. Overall, a solid experience. The Strawberry Hut's accolades of being the best for 15 years is well-earned. But once again, Tampa Cubans, NOT OG Cubans. I will give The Strawberry Hut four out of five stars. Definitely check them out if just for the novelty of having a kind of Cuban specific to the area. And if The Strawberry Hut is consistent, I'll give them their fifth star.

What a neat place! I'm so glad I followed the Yelper's suggestions and tried it out. We got there around 2pm and while it was busy it wasn't crazy. Plenty of parking. There were 2 people in line in front of me and the line moved quickly. We ordered the ham and cheese Cuban (for my mom) and I ordered the Tuna sandwich. We also ordered 2 strawberry milkshakes. The sandwiches were very good, the bread was delicious. We ordered them pressed - yum. The milkshakes were sooo good. I ordered 2 more to go! It was a gorgeous February day and we had no issues sitting on the picnic tables beneath the wood canopies. It might be a different story in August! Stop by if you're close by or on I-4 near the Plant City exit. You won't be sorry!

The shakes the shakes the shakes! Strawberry Hut has the best shakes, Cubans and other fruity ice cream concoctions. But I'm a shake foodie so you need to check them out if you haven't done so yet! The people are so nice and they serve a lot of customers but they work pretty briskly so no wait. This place is is a Plant City staple and it's what the strawberry camaraderie's all about!!

I'm back baby! My jobsite is next exit west past the Hut & I get to eat here for lunch. I have been going here since the 90's. Cuban sammies in plant ciry?!? They have been open since '93, must be doing something right! At 11:48 on a wednesday 42° there was already 5 people waiting for food and one person ahead of me in line. Get here Early or order ahead, by noon it was packed. 4" cuban and a bowl of soup filled me up but didn't slow me down. The soup was good but dipping the cuban in the soup!!! Next level baby! I highly recommend the milk shakes, the machines are older than dirt, and they make amazing old fashioned ice cream. It's an old gas station my Mom said it had gas pump you had to crank by hand, she was born here. Do yourself a favor and grab a cuban.

Great place for a quick bite. Their sandwiches are all good, especially the Cuban. Don't miss the milkshakes too. Service is always courteous and friendly. This is one of our hometown faves.

We ordered a Lina, veggie sub and Luciana, roast beef sub and bottle of water and bottle of tea. The women working were not overly friendly or welcoming. It took a few minutes to get our subs as it got a little busy and one person was making all the sandwiches. We were happily surprised by the sandwiches, they were both pretty good. I especially liked the veggie with pesto and balsamic glaze. The restaurant gives a farm stand feel, with simple decorations. The restroom needed some attention but still worked. Overall OK, we may be back.

The driver began calling me that Angelina's was out of ingredients to make both sandwiches I ordered even though they had just opened and that I need to cancel my order. DoorDash obviously refunded me for the food and the tax but I ended up still having to pay the driver since they went all the way there just for Angelina's to not have the ingredients to make two of their most popular sandwiches. This was my first time ordering and would be trying of Angelina's. Won't be making the mistake again since I've lost money trying to support them. Based on their reviews, the consistently lack the ingredients for their full menu so perhaps not a good call to be a part of DoorDash.

Well, they've earned their rating with good reason!…read more A friend and I went on a bit of an unplanned adventure yesterday as the first place we were going to go to was closed for an event. After driving 30 minutes to that place in Plant City and realizing this, we decided, "why not drive some more?". Josephine's was on my radar due to their great reviews across multiple platforms, so we drove another 20-30 minutes to check it out. We arrived at the unsuspecting strip plaza, walked in to what was just one well lit, cozy strip in the plaza and were immediately greeted by Robby, the owner, who asked us if it was our first time in. We let him know that it was, and he proceeded to educate us on everything they have to offer, from their bar, their sandwiches, pizzas, salads, pastas, grocery and so on... the meatball sandwich was calling my name, along with their pizzas and their pastas - so many choices! I did land on the meatball sandwich and got a bag of chips and a glass of wine while my friend got the Italian salad and a coke. For note, this ran us about $45. It was well worth it. The meatball sandwich was 10" and was stuffed with fully ground beef meatballs, seasoned well and very cheesy - so good. I tasted the salad and it was great as well, with plenty of parmesan cheese to cover up the taste of leaves that I was consuming (I'm not a vegetables guy still). While we were dining at the bar, Robby took a bit more time to tell us how the store came to be, being named after his grandmother who, though she wasn't around to see what he had started, would no doubt be very proud as his/his employee service was excellent and the food was no different. At the end of our experience, Robby took our payment and we explored the store a bit. Robby was kind enough to offer me two of their mini cannolis and my friend a scoop of their salted caramel gelato on the house as a way of saying thank you for coming in; again, EXCELLENT service. Since leaving there yesterday, I have recommended the place to 7 people and will continue recommending it to more people due to their great value, service and delicious food. Huge thanks to Robby and the team at Josephine's for knowing how to do things the right way. I'll definitely be back.

After returning from our honeymoon in Italy, my husband and I were on a mission to find pizza,…read moreItalian subs, and authentic Italian foods that reminded us of our trip. We stumbled upon Josephine's Italian Market, less than 15 minutes from our home, and it has become one of our favorite special-occasion spots. The market itself is such a fun experience. They have a thoughtfully curated selection of imported Italian products, a refrigerated and freezer section with prepared foods to take home, shelves of authentic pantry staples, a small espresso and Italian beverage bar, and a fantastic deli with fresh meats like prosciutto, capicola, and everything you'd hope to find in a true Italian market. One thing that really stood out was how welcoming everyone was. I brought my toddler with me, and instead of feeling like I was trying to juggle shopping while keeping him entertained, the staff genuinely embraced him. They were so kind and engaging that it made the entire visit relaxed and enjoyable. Now for the food... absolutely incredible. Their Hot Honey Pizza is easily one of the best pizzas I've had outside of Italy, and their authentic Italian sub is unquestionably in my top five ever. The chicken cutlets, salads, and other prepared foods have all been consistently outstanding. I also love browsing their selection of authentic Italian wines to take home. Is it more expensive than grabbing pizza or subs from a chain? Absolutely. But the quality, authenticity, and overall experience make it worth it. We don't think of Josephine's as an everyday stop--we think of it as our go-to place for special occasions, family gatherings, or anytime we want to treat ourselves to food that genuinely reminds us of Italy. If you're looking for authentic Italian food, exceptional sandwiches, outstanding pizza, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Josephine's Italian Market is absolutely worth the visit. We're so grateful to have a place like this so close to home!
