I have used Egon for two jobs so far and would hire him again. He did a good job painting my apartment and also refinishing my floors. He is a skilled and capable handyman. I have not had a communication issue with him and he has been present as expected when scheduled. I am only removing a star as the initial price for the recent job was increased unexpectedly in the middle of the job - I was not in the position to decline as the rooms were half-finished. I think that given his experience he could have given me a better appraisal of the cost at the start of the job and then I could have made my decision. I would use him again but would expect that the quoted price remains the same for the duration of the job. read more

Don't trust him. He lied but still charge money. The worst handyman never finishes his works. If he does some work, it's terrible quality with so much time. He does not have license to do most of his work. However he always said he can do any job. When he came to do those jobs, he realized he cannot do or he cannot qualify to do. Egon never showed up. I rescheduled a previous appointment, and he confirmed the time. When I text him to tell him is he a little late, he told me was in the city and didn't know when he'd be back. NO PHONE CALL OR TEXT to let me know. I took a chance and rescheduled again, he confirmed the new time and NEVER SHOWED UP. I waited an hour. An hour! I text him. Nothing. He finally responds (an hour later) saying he was busy with other clients. Absolutely unacceptable. Terrible communication. Will never use this guy. read more

Promise to keep prices low and insisted he was trying to save me money. Then price gauged at the end. I knew someone who could do the job for less but because of the pandemic couldn't come out. Was unprofessional about the misunderstanding he created still insisted on me paying more. read more

Egon was great to work with! He was very reliable, he showed up when he was supposed to. He hung everything I needed hung in my new apartment, including 65" tvs. He was knowledgeable about what he was doing and the job turned out great. I definitely recommend him and would use him again! read more

Had a nightmarish experience with Egon. Hired him to paint my apartment - He was very lazy and tried to cut corners every opportunity he had. Didn't paint thoroughly, very inconsistent throughout the apartment. Also, didn't finish the full job (missed some areas) and just disappeared and never came back to finish it...beware! read more

We hired Egon to paint and do minor repairs in my daughter's first apartment. He sent pictures to us showing that the job was done, it looked good in the "pictures", so we paid home the remaining balance (although he tried to get more), big mistake. We went to see the apartment the next day, it was obvious the pictures were cropped and filtered, because he had done a horrible job. He was supposed to smooth/sand the walls out ( he only did one portion of the wall in the living room and one area in the kitchen). He was supposed to fill/patch any holes, he didn't do that. He got paint on the cabinet and wall and didn't even bother to fix the issue. My daughter is a college student, with a young child, I feel horrible for my daughter and my grandson son. He definitely took advantage of our situation. I feel so badly for them, she was so excited to be moving into her first apartment the disappointment was heartbreaking to see on her face. She used all of her savings to pay him $1500 and I paid for the supplies, we were ripped off. Also, he removed nothing, left everything in the apartment, we purchased 2 cases of planks for the bathroom, he obviously kept 1 because the bathroom is very small and 2 boxes were not needed, one of the pieces for the blinds was missing, he did not even mention this. read more

Egon did me a real favor by showing up last minute when another handyman I had scheduled fell through. He arrived on time, was thorough and paid attention to detail, and did a great job touching up the paint and hanging some pictures around my office. First of all, I called Egon and he came to help me with my project the next day! Fast turnaround. I needed to change the direction of outswing for a bedroom door... Egon came to look at the door and we realized the task was not quite as simple as we first planned, but he thought out-of-the-box and created a workaround. I can't say enough nasty things about Egon. He said he would come to paint. We connected the morning of the job. When he ran late I called him. He told me he came by and left b/c I didn't come to the door quickly and that's not what he's about. I told him that since he was only here 5 minutes ago that he should come back and I would wait out front. He refused on the grounds of "principle". I am a small landlord getting my house in Yonkers ready to put up for sale. Egon is doing a kitchen update, tile backsplash, bathroom tile floor, and other minor repairs and maintenace.
