Glazed cruller

I'm giving a good review, but this is also a bad review. This morning me and a friend went to get a couple donuts for a coffee and road trip. Now the donuts bread everything they bake there is wonderfully delicious. The place could actually use a nice makeover and the service is generally really good although today there was a where am I going to rather large woman, grazing behind the counter and she was in beast mode. She was very rude. I don't know if she's having a problem right now, but boy is she letting every customer in front of me have it And the buddy who I was with said that I have a napkin and pretty much before he even finish she said NO! I looked at him and kind of chuckled, but he didn't think it was very funny.

Deserving of every star. This is where to go in the valley for donuts. I pick up every Sunday for my team at work, and have heard nothing but great things. Prices are also great. My favorite? The Ice Ring.

Collection of delicious danishes

The closest you'll get to a NY style bakery here in the Valley! I've been going to Egypt Star since I moved to this area 6 years ago. The bakery is infamous among locals and for a very good reason. The donuts and breads are delicious and fresh. The danishes are to die for! Everything is very reasonable as well for East Coast standards. Never had an issue with customer service, everyone in there is very nice and helpful. Save yourself the drive to NY/NJ when you have a sweets craving and check out Egypt Star-

I was there the other day and you know there's a reason this place has been around forever, cookies, breads, rolls, cakes. If it ain't heaven it's damn close.

These are by far the best cake donuts I've ever had. I even find myself craving them. The glazed doughnut is out of this world.

The menu lists several flavors of donuts of "raised"/stick donuts and "round" donuts. Raised donuts include the following flavors: Cream Sticks (marshmallow filling with chocolate topping), Jelly Sticks (raspberry-jelly filling with sugar coating), Cinnamon Sticks (cinnamon glaze), and Glazed. Round donuts include the following flavors: Glazed, Powdered Sugar, Chocolate, Peanut (with marshmallow cream), Cinnamon Sugar, Plain Old-fashioned, and Sprinkle (with marshmallow cream). I chose the Raspberry Jelly Stick, and my husband chose the Chocolate Cream Stick. The employee provided excellent service in greeting us, patiently waiting for us to decide our flavors, and processing our payment. I do recommend that the business add labels near the donuts, but the employee did explain the flavors to us. Each donut cost $1.90. Both of our donuts tasted very good. This business also had a refrigerator of bottled beverages, including milks, teas, Gatorades, coffees, and water.

This is the cutest newer (not much over a year old I believe) small business bakery in Brentwood…read more It is right next door to S&S cigarette/candy shop on 51 and near 51 wings if you're familiar with the area. It appears to be family owned and the woman who owns it has her brother (who I met) and other family helping her. I found out about her bakery on Facebook from promotional posts in our community groups and she seemed very excited about her opportunity, eager to try unique cupcakes and other recipes you don't find at your typical bakery. I believe I also read it was her dream to own a bakery so that was a nice tidbit to hear come to life in our community. I'm not a sweet eater but my son is so I wanted to support. She had puddings for sale (purchased 'dirt' which is a chocolate pudding with cookies and gummy worms, I tasted it for my review and it was very thick and rich - children's favorite her brother shared, $6.50 for a good sized container pictured). I can't recall all of the pudding types prepared but see photo. My son loved it! Distinct richer flavor than typical dirt pudding, I think and perhaps that is worth the steeper price (in addition to supporting small business). I purchased a s'mores cupcake ($2.50-$3 cupcakes run - much detail and extra products to make these) which has the graham cracker stick in the middle, marshmellow tasting cream and chocolate cupcake - my son also enjoyed, what kid wouldn't. I really like how they package the single cupcakes if you see in the photo it is propped up around it to not fall or mess with its presentation while you carry it. She also had nilla wafer cupcakes, strawberry pretzel salad cupcakes, oreo cupcakes, strawberry shortcake ones and more. Their cookies were sold out and I did confirm she primarily specializes in cupcakes. Nice to note that easy free parking upfront, can order on delivery through door dash, accepts cards or cash, can take preorders for holidays such as pies and puddings which I believe she posts on her social media. Delicious and quality products. Really cute cupcake designs on interior which adds nice touch!

NEW bakery alert for those of you in the South Hills (or willing to travel for the good stuff)…read more They're located on Route 51 in Brentwood, a couple of doors up from 51 Wings. It takes some guts to open a small business during a pandemic, and the young entrepreneur behind this one deserves your support! Love Made Edible is focused on a rotating variety of gourmet cupcakes but has some other surprises. I was very excited to find this banana pudding, for instance, complete with vanilla wafers just like the Magnolia-inspired version I make at home, and it was so delicious. Cupcakes range from simple but perfect vanilla to filled varieties. There's also an Insta-worthy wall mural. Check them out!
