A family run business with a cute story. Bought a very pretty coconut cupcake and earrings! What girl doesn't need another cute pair of earrings?! The cupcake was moist. I thought it needed more coconut flavor but I am a coconut nut! The buttercream frosting was not too heavy nor overbearing for the moist cupcake. read more

Very friendly staff and all their baked goods looked very delicious. They have various coffee and tea drinks, cold or hot, as well as milkshakes. Inside the bakery are a few items for sale from various local artists. Their baked goods and treats change with the seasons and holidays so be sure to check them out regularly. Also, the service is above and beyond. Super friendly and fast. They have sitting inside and they offer free WiFi. My favorite item here is their Rose Tea which has edible glitter in it! It's delicious and it's beautiful to look at! Some of their cupcakes also have glitter on them and they look magical! If you're looking for a quick drink or sweet treat while you check out the town, this is a good place to find just that. read more

What a fun find! This is a sweet, local spot for drop coffee, lattes, baked goods. We stopped in and enjoyed a cinnamon roll and checked out the paintings and items they had for sale. Staff is very friendly, the baked goods are gorgeous, and tasty. The art is unique and gives the space a fun vibe. Seating is limited. Would definitely recommend this place for a party order/special occasion (assuming with advanced notice) or for a sweet treat. read more

Tiny little bakery that serves really good cupcakes. The art is very eclectic and a lot of fun to look at while you sit and munch on a delish chocolate cupcake, macaroon or pastry. Need a cake for a celebration? Order ahead. Need a dozen cinnamon rolls for the office or half a dozen to take back to your vacation cabin. Yep, they can do that too. Our first stop after arriving in cloudcroft was to get some cake, of course. The owners were super friendly and helpful. They had a selection of cupcakes and treats, but it was the end of the day, so maybe not as many as they usually would have. Anyway, I ended up with a just ok vanilla cupcake. I bet if you go first thing in the morning it's very good. If you're in town, you may as well give them a try. read more

We loved eight the cake. We ordered 2 iced coffees with vanilla syrup and heavy cream, a golden chai, strawberry cupcake with chocolate buttercream, caramel latte cupcake and a cherry roll. Our coffees tastes really good! The cupcakes had really great strawberry flavor and latte flavor (both icing and cake) as well as texture! Highly recommend ! read more

Oh man... I'm so happy I found eight the cake. I had been searching for a place to do a specialty cake for my dads 60th and this place popped up. I talked with Ryan and he assured me that the idea I wanted could be done. I sent him a couple pictures and he took it from there. Ryan and Sarah did the cake and it turned out even better than I expected. It was absolutely PERFECT. I ordered a Las Vegas themed cake for dads 60th birthday. I wanted a chocolate cake and that was about it. They knocked it out of the park. It was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much for making my Dads day so special and for creating something so beautiful. I appreciate the artistry, hard work and love that you put into this cake. The complexity of each handmade treat the team of family members are creating, are little slices of heaven at Eight the Cake in Cloudcroft, NM. The ambiance is fantastic, the space is surrounded by art pieces and sculptures from local artist in New Mexico to look at and/or purchase and enjoy at home (see photos). Eight the Cake has many delicious treats to choose from on their menu, including artisan coffee and smoothies to wash them down. Just an overall delightful place to sit and enjoy! They offer cupcakes and bakery items that are homemade. They are very good, my daughter and wife love there cupcakes. They also offer art pieces and other little small knickknacks, the art is from local artists. I enjoy getting the hot Apple cider I think they make the best in town and I have sampled different stores. Every time we come to Cloudcroft we stop in this store for a cupcake or hot apple cider depending on the weather. read more

Oh my goodness! This place is delicious and the staff is super nice!! My child got the pineapple cherry cupcake- 1st) it was beautiful. They didn't even look real and 2nd) that had to be the most delicious cupcake I have ever had! We will definitely make a point of stopping here every time we visit Cloudcroft. read more

The cupcakes were incredible-- one carrot cake, one chocolate cherry. Perfectly moist, and the decorations were beautiful-- sprinkles, fine glitter, some chocolate work on top. Cloudcroft is amazing for many reasons, but add the Macarons at Eight the Cake as yet another! The shop has a great vibe, with art and jewelry for sale, in addition to the delicious baked goods. We're excited to come back for some gluten free cinnamon rolls! read more

I want to plan a trip back to Cloudcroft just to eat these baked goods again!! We got cinnamon rolls, peach hand pies, and a peach cupcake- they were truly out of this world. Some of the best baked goods we have ever had- coming from former New Yorkers and Londoners. It's probably a good thing we don't live close by lol! read more

This bakery has fabulous pastry! It is light and buttery and not too sweet. We have lived in some very sophisticated dining cities like San Francisco, and I would rate these pastries higher than in bakeries there. The coffee is also excellent and the proprietors could not be nicer. read more

The strawberry filled cupcake was to die for! The frosting was so good and the inside had delicious strawberries. I got the chocolate cupcake for my husband. I thought he would say that it was just ok. He LOVED it saying it was moist, sweet and chocolatey. Said the frosting was very tasty. They both tasted like a piece of a delicious cake versus "just a cupcake!" If I knew they were going to be this good, I would have doubled my order. The male server at the front counter was also very pleasant and made for a great visit. read more
