They work great for kids who don't weigh much, but it is much harder for adults. Rooms were clean and beds and pillows pretty comfortable. The hotel in general and the rooms could use some updating/refresh. The furniture is pretty outdated in the rooms. Hooks on the wall would be a nice addition to hang items on. The cookies they put out in the afternoon for free are hard and not fresh. We did use their laundry facilities which were great! Bring quarters and your own soap if you can, but if you can't they do have soap to purchase and can give you quarters if you have cash. WiFi is terrible. An employee working the breakfast area had poor customer service skills and needs more training. When approached about putting more food out that was out, he said "why does everyone come down at 9?"

As a traveler from out of state accompanied by two trained service dogs, I was shocked by the…read moretreatment we received at Winary Bistro. The manager incorrectly stated that service dogs must wear a vest to be recognized as service animals and demanded that we provide a "service animal certificate." We were then told that such certificates were not valid and that service animals must be registered in New Mexico before being allowed into the restaurant. None of these statements are consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Service dogs are not required to wear vests, carry certificates, or be registered with any state in order to access public accommodations. It is deeply concerning that a manager responsible for serving the public appears to have such a poor understanding of federal disability law. The experience was embarrassing, discriminatory, and completely unnecessary. I have traveled extensively throughout the United States with my service dogs and have never been treated this way. I strongly encourage management to educate staff on ADA requirements before another customer is subjected to the same treatment. Until then, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone who relies on a service animal.

It makes for some pretty photos, nice vistas overlooking the pond. The crux of this place is how underdeveloped it is. The bathroom situation is a Porta potty, there's a canopy for shade but it can only accommodate the smallest of parties. There's not enough outlets and lighting is limited. They tend to restrict their events to daylight hours and don't allow alcohol which makes for very quaint events. It's a mom and pop affair but that means they expect you to set everything up and tear everything down when you're done and the people who operate this are not the friendliest bunch. The improvements the venue does have seem pretty underwhelming. Think Home Depot special, definitely keep your expectations low on this one. All in all if you're thinking of this style of outdoors wedding you may be better served considering a park or similar setting. May be more cost effective without the hassle of dealing with the owners.

Well... not quite. The store itself is quaint and charming, filled with all kinds of temptations. Pistachios in every form, chocolates, wines, and gift options that make you rethink your original plan. You can taste a little of everything, which is both delightful and dangerous. Then we stepped out onto the patio with our pistachio ice cream, and wow... completely unexpected. The space is gorgeous. Calm, open, and the kind of place that makes you slow down without even trying. Honestly, if I lived nearby, I'd be planning celebrations here without a second thought. Somewhere between the views and the tasting, I tried their pistachio rosé. And yes, I had the same reaction, "wait... what?" But it worked. Different, pleasant, and surprisingly good. The theater can also be rented out for special events. Alamogordo Music Theatre performs musicals here twice a year. The building was originally a movie theater, that has been converted and gradually improved over the years. The technical equipment (sound, lighting, stage) is somewhat bare-bones but adequate. All the seats are good, but the center orchestra seats toward the front are the best. The theater also puts on a series of tailgate concerts every summer at the New Mexico Museum of Space History. Ticket prices are reasonable ($10-$40), in part because the theater is a non-profit and is subsidized by generous local financial support.

The chips were thick and crunchy. The red salsa was actually better and spicier but served in really small containers so I couldn't dip chips in it but I made it work, poured it over the food too! I ordered the amigo quesadillas with brisket and the green chile enchiladas with chicken and half a dozen of tamales. The quesadillas were really good. I would be willing to have this again. The enchiladas were decent. I felt like the green sauce was a little light and runny but the chicken was soft and shredded well. The red tamales had great flavor, I just wish they allowed you to buy them by the piece, I was just passing through and ate 2 tamales and left the rest in the hotel freezer
