I rarely go to bars anymore let alone consume alcohol - I haven't had an adult beverage since before COVID - but yesterday, I had the chance to check out this interesting nightspot in Houston's Spring Branch neighborhood called Eighteen Ten Ojeman. My friend's band, Zenjii, had a live performance there. A power outage befell the establishment (thanks for nothing, Centerpoint!) so the show was switched from inside to the patio. I'll say that the patio is a bit on the gritty side but has a really cool, summertime-in-the-backyard kind of vibe. I was drawn to the numerous street signs and license plates that were strewn throughout. Thankfully, the weather was cooperative enough. I did have a chance to check the interior. While virtually pitch black, I was able to see some pinball machines and a pool table. On a normal day, the place is likely buzzing. If the patio presented itself as a place for tailgates and barbecues then the inside was a badass combination of dive bar, honky tonk, and punk rock club. And because I don't drink alcohol, I settled on a Mexican Coke, which was a decent $3.25. When I took my first sip, I was taken back to the summers of my youth when I went home to the Philippines after the school year. The opening of the bottle left a bit of a weird taste in my mouth so I decided to pour the rest in a complimentary plastic cup. And Coke - no matter what flavor it is - tastes better in a plastic cup, but that's a different story for another day. As for the staff, everyone from Becca to Jeremy is pretty cool. Even those who served me the Coke were down-to-Earth. They didn't ask me for ID. *Laughs* But seriously, Eighteen Ten Ojeman is a great place to pull up to in Spring Branch after you have some legit Korean BBQ, which the area is known for. read more

One of my all time favorite bars with great vibes. If you're looking for an authentic, no-frills dive bar with incredible live music, this spot in Spring Branch is the place to be! The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with a perfect mix of locals and music lovers. It's the kind of place where you feel like part of the community the moment you walk in. The live bands are the highlight--whether it's blues, rock, or country, the talent they bring in never disappoints. The sound system is solid, and you can tell they care about creating an excellent music experience. There's even a small dance floor if you're in the mood to move! They typically push back all the couches and seating in the front to make room for people to stand/dance. Drinks are reasonably priced, and the bartenders are quick and friendly, even when the place gets packed. The decor is classic dive bar--think neon signs, worn-in stools, and a jukebox for when the bands take a break. It's gritty in the best way possible. Not to mention all the stickers and drawings throughout the bar. If you're into great live music, cold drinks, and a laid-back vibe, this Spring Branch gem should be at the top of your list. Very cool dive bar! It truely is one of a kind and haven't been to any bar quite as unique as this one. The people are always very interesting and the bartenders are so nice! They have a mini little restaurant on the patio which is always great when you're hungry late at night. They have a lot of events from live jazz to live rock, thrift store shops, small owned businesses that sell art to jewelry, burlesque shows, and even bingo on Monday nights! Never a boring bar and the owner is super laid back and just wants everyone to have fun. read more

This is the Best Overall Dive Bar in Spring Branch. They have the acoustics, the vibe, the poppy art along the walls, the alternate world you enter versus classic Spring Branch. I kind got the Austin ambiance here which is a major curve ball that I enjoy getting every time. Did I mention they had a Kobe Beef burger on the menu? Either indoors or outdoors either way it's a win win situation. April and David are the best friendly bartenders! They service you timely and get you back on your way to have more fun! They make this place run efficiently! They are 10 for 10! If you need to catch up with friends, enjoy a band or simply need a change in pace. This is the place for you. I'm not usually a bar goer, but tonight I had a 45 minute delay until my bus came. It was almost 11 at night and hot as could be! I found this place to be the only walkable option for me that was still open. I was a little bit confused based on the, say, curb appeal... But heck, I really needed a soda. SO glad I went in! The interior is totally cool without trying to be and omg the a/c here could freeze a penguin . I noticed they have pool tables, which I aim to rule my next visit... They serve some tasty looking cocktails, I saw three or four different types go out while there. I personally can vouch for the coldness of their soda. The bartender was quite friendly and had a nice attitude. The other patrons were all seemingly having a blast. I found the crowd there to be a good mix. Don't forget to enjoy the awesome music they play... I heard mainly older era country - not sure if that's the norm but this Tennessee girl loved it. What an amazing vibe! The staff is attentive and awesome, drinks are decently priced, the regulars are sweet and inviting... What more could you ask for? There is no one type of person... All are accepted and welcome with open arms. I have made so many new friends since I started coming here. They have open Mic Sunday and Thursday... And the amazing talent that comes in is out of sight! Most nights there is a local band or one of the bartenders, Alex, hooks it up with music of all genres and plays himself. There is something to fit every person... Between the art, music, drinks, and just all around good people. As far as food, Chef D is there most nights and his food is phenomenal! When he is not working, his replacement is John with Last Meal on Wheels food truck. If you try one of his "Juicy Lucy" cheeseburgers, you will be 100% hooked! Come check it out! read more

This is my favorite neighborhood bar, The staff is very attentive! Craft beer selection is very good . If you go when Chef Blades blades is there you should order the juicy Lucy with tater tots. Ha! My husband & I have been here a few times & when we have it hasn't had a big crowd. This place should be crowded all the time though, it's a great place. Very creative cocktail menu, service is prompt & attentive. The place is spotless & it has everything you could want in a neighborhood bar: pool tables, lots of tables for seating, a sitting area with comfy sofas, video games, karaoke stage, happy hour with great prices. Great spot!! Finally had a chance to visit last night. Highlights - the bowling arcade game, plus a ton of pinball machines. Star Wars pinball the best!! Had to drop some quarters in the Playboy machine too - would hv been rude not to. 1st band of the night was some chill group just funking n jazzn and creating a fab vibe. NFL football post season was on and Emma the bartender slingn drinks all over. This place has a huge parking lot - so eazy peazy and a big back patio. This place is literally my second home. Sad for a 22 year old to say this but, everyone you meet here is friendly and makes you part of your family. This isn't just a bar, this is a place where you actually have food and entertainment almost every night. The bartenders here are amazing people, make the best drinks and super cheap. I went here because they advertise karaoke however, when I went there they said they no longer have it. Which is why I took off a star. They do have an open mike nite which if I recall is Thursdays. I went for it a couple times and it's o.k. (You can't beat free entertainment.) The place itself is a nice place to hang around in friendly, and the bartenders are on the ball. I would go more often if they brought back karaoke. Prices are very reasonable, ample parking. read more

There is no 4 1/2 rating but that's what I'd give it! Non descript on the outside, wasn't exactly sure what to expect on the inside walking up... But such a cool, warm space inside! They have really made the most of it, with well-stocked, high end craft drinks and beer and a wonderful staff with cool, low key patrons. Totally like a cool bar from the 70s cops tv shows. I really mean it in a good way. When you walk in during the day your eyes need to adjust to the dark. They have 2 pool tables a video game and a pinball game. The bartender I had was really nice and very attentive. They have a patio in the back and plenty of artwork on the walls. I've been searching for a great bar in spring branch, this isn't it but it's real good. I went after work about 4:30 so I don't know how it is at night, but I'll let you know. read more

This place is the spot, or used to be, super chill dive bar and down to earth staff and they got a food truck in the back porch. There was a time when the parking lot could've used some heavy work but it seems like they're getting it done steadily. There's always a different vibe when I go there, sometimes western, sometimes jazzy, sometimes 80's metal, sometimes punk... etc, but I've been a regular here for years and they have upgraded big time, although I do miss the old vibe sometimes, it seems like they put a few plywood's together to build a stage and call themselves a music venue, so now they're charging Midtown prices for drinks that used to be $4, paid $28 for two (2) jack and cokes last weekend, I thought I was hearing things but nah she was like "yep, it's on the screen" hahaha.. so pretty badass place but probably won't be going back in a while, so long ojey had a blast with ya. Most dive bars do stick to their essence though so I wonder if there is new management or something, I know the old manager would never allow their bartenders to charge $28 for 2 drinks lmao read more

Finally, a neighborhood bar in Spring Branch close to our house with a wonderful selection of beer & amazing, unique cocktails. We went last pm for the 1st time after finding on YELP and once there I called our friends to come meet us. Very attentive Manager, Candice and she made some wonderful cocktails. We tried quite a few...Kinky Pom with a frozen blueberry ice block (never had that before!) & a really fresh Skinny Strawberry Mojito. For our dessert drink we had an Oatmeal Cookie Martini with a graham cracker dusted rim, Truly nice! Free darts, $1 pool, juke box. We also enjoyed a steak dinner. They were cooking on the patio and the steak was made to order. I will be spreading the word about SBT as the service and atmosphere were great for a casual pm out. read more

BEST. BAR. IN. HOUSTON. It makes me have hope for this sad excuse for a metropolis. Probably because everything about it, the meticulous perfectly vintage decor, the lighting that appears as though it was effortlessly and unintentionally placed in the exact spots - as though it were a "bedhead" equivalent of lighting, seemingly unapproachable bartenders who turn out to be great at managing time and making guests feel welcome - they have the skills of a Bobby Heugel protege minus the pretention - they won't scoff at someone who genuinely likes a standard Moscow Mule (although once I had one with bourbon my world would never be the same, to each their own. I don't have to judge other people to make myself feel relevant cuz I'm not, and neither is any person in Houston, Texas. If you were, you'd move to a real city.) I digress. That is a glimpse of the pervasive disdain I have for this city, except when I am in this bar. It is like being teleported to Austin 2006, Brooklyn 2002 and San Francisco all at once.
