This is one of those spots that just makes a great low key neighborhood bar. The parking out front is small, but you can usually find a spot around if it's full. They have plenty of tables inside and seating at the bar. The patio area has a nice covered area with some TVs, typically with a local sports game on. Typically at least a couple of families are around, either playing a game or just enjoying the patio with a cold pint. Food & Drink - 4.75* Great local craft beer selection! Definitely give the wall a close look as there's probably something you haven't tried unless you frequent the place already. For food, they have plenty to choose from. Starter and shareables such as chips & queso, pretzels, flautas, or spinach & artichoke dip. For mains you can grab a salad or a guilty pleasure like burgers, wings, and chicken sandwiches. I've had plenty of the items and have never been disappointed. I definitely recommend the onion rings if you go with a sandwich meal. That's not to say the tots or fries are bad, it's just their onion rings are really on point. On Thursday they do ribeye night, so give it a go if you're looking for something a bit more substantial. Service - 4* I've found generally speaking the service is pretty good when ordering at the bar. They can get a little busy at times and slow, but never egregious. Everyone is quite friendly when you ask questions and looking for some recommendations. Cost - 4.25* Always subjective, for me, I find their pricing pretty good for an above average pint and burger. If I were to knock it a little, I think some of the larger brewers "easy drinking" lighter beers could carry a slightly less cost, or maybe run more "specials" to sell at volume with thinner margin. Just a suggestion. Overall, I've never been turned off by any of the pricing. It's definitely refreshing to support local brewers and a local bar more than going to some of the more corporate establishments that sit nearby. We were all expecting bar food quality but everything was really good especially the chicken tacos and fruit salad. Major, major props on them for killing the hosting of our event. The bar is decently sized especially when you factor the inside portion and outside portion. However the bathrooms are tiny with only 1 urinal and 1 stall. There was constantly a line when we visited even on a Thursday night. Parking is also very limited. The lot is very small and does not fit many cars. I've finally come to find out why this local dive is continuously packed. This family friendly Beer Garden has an plenty of food options and local brewery staples to keep all of the family satisfied. Lots of outdoor seating that's dog friendly too. Plenty of TV's to watch the game, whatever it might be. Walkable to everyone who lives in the neighborhood and a decent bit of parking for all but those super busy days. The food itself is done well. I'm not gonna say it was surprisingly good, but it really does hit all the marks I expected. Nothing is too oily or greasy, fries are crisp. Sauces are yummy and they have enough different options that are good. Beers and drinks are super well priced. I didn't feel like I was getting gouged at all. Cocktails are all $9 or under which feels like a throwback at this point. The true MVP for me though was the ordering system, which is done on the phone entirely. Scan the QR code on the table and you can keep a running tab of food and drinks that all get brought out to your table whenever you place an order. This made things so simple, no tracking down a waiter or having to wrestle your way to the bar to get more beer. I will never visit or recommend Lazy Oak Beer Garden again. Today, we came together to celebrate an amazing achievement with my staff within the service industry. We usually choose the same location for our celebrations and happy hour, but this time we opted for Lazy Oak Beer Garden due to its good reviews and appealing happy hour offerings. We arrived around 4:30 PM and found the place not too busy. We sat at an unreserved table and waited for without being greeted what so ever. Noticing a QR code on the table, we decided to order directly from there, thinking it was standard procedure since it was our first time at this restaurant. After placing our order, I realized we made a mistake on one item, so I approached the bar to request a change. Unfortunately, I wasn't acknowledged by the staff. When our food arrived, no one checked in on us to see if we needed anything, highlighting a clear disconnect between us and the wait staff. Despite the lack of engagement from the staff--who were not approachable at all during our visit--we chose to stay and enjoy our evening. At one point, a server brought us drinks, and when I requested an additional one, he rolled his eyes before returning with it. Next to us, a couple removed a reserved sign and sat at the table, seemingly annoyed by our presence. I noticed one of the staff members warmly greeting and chatting with them, which made me suspect they were regulars. I encouraged my coworkers to overlook the situation so we could enjoy our celebration. However, shortly after, a staff member approached us, asking if we were driving specific vehicles and insisting we move immediately in a very unprofessional manner. It was at that moment I realized we were no longer welcome, given the way we had been treated. I requested our bills and asked my staff to move their cars, trying to maintain our composure. The couple next to us claimed they were regulars and always received the best service, which made me reflect on the stark difference in treatment we experienced. I expressed to the staff member that since our arrival, we had been treated differently. When I witnessed her friendly interaction with the regulars, it became painfully clear that we were being subjected to discrimination. After settling our bill, we noticed the couple next to us reviewing it, which felt unacceptable. I made it clear to the staff member who had asked us to move that we were there to celebrate and had been made to feel unwelcome from the start. We chose their location based on positive reviews, but had to acknowledge it was not the right place for us. I wanted to emphasize that, as individuals in the service industry, we found the service we received to be unacceptable and that we were leaving with dignity. It's disheartening to realize that if you don't fit the typical mold of a white patron, you might not be welcome at a place like this. As an American of Puerto Rican descent and a diverse staff this was the first time I truly felt the sting of racism, which should never be tolerated. I would never recommend Lazy Oak Beer Garden to anyone in my staff, family, or to any guests who stay at our hotel. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service to all our guests, regardless of their background, and this location fell significantly short of how to treat any individual with respect and dignity. always wanted to check this place out so me and my partner just had to! we popped in last night around 9pm and left right before closing. its really convenient that they have QR codes you can scan on the outside seating and also keep the tab open. i wish i took more pictures but its a really nice vibe, multiple tvs even outside and pretty lights hanging from the trees out there. there was live music being played inside Friday night. We had the shaved Brussel salad, wings (espresso BBQ, Thai curry, and regular buffalo.) also got the poblano rings with jalapeño ranch because that sounded way more interesting than regular onion rings. the food was great we were pleasantly surprised! also the service was pretty fast, i got a long point spicy Paloma and we ended up getting a few Jameson + cokes. quick service and a super chill vibe, they're pet friendly too. nice place to go to for just a drink/ a small bite, or to stay all night :) will definitely be back! read more

Lazy Oaks is a cute little neighborhood bar tucked away in a subdivision off Gessner. They have a super cozy and relaxed atmosphere. This used to be a tiny convenient store years ago, run by an older gentleman. It's always strange going into a place after a remodel like this. They did a terrific job. They have a nice sized patio directly off the main interior. The garage It is shaded well with plenty of seating. Lazy Oaks is dog friendly, so take your pooch out for a good time too. The inside bar top is a nice size to seat you and your friends. The service is always great! I love the friendliness of all the staff. Perfect neighborhood bar, period. I have been coming here for the past 3 years when I moved to the area. There are parking spots in front of the bar, but you can also park it the lot across the street (this greatly helps and I've never not been able to find parking). They have a good sized indoor space, outdoor space, some covered outdoor space, and plenty of TVs; nice bathrooms too. You order via QR code at your table and someone brings out your food and drinks - very easy and convenient! Plus, everyone is so friendly and helpful. They have tasty food too; I especially love their chicken sandwich and burger, but their salads and appetizers are fantastic as well. I brought my dog since it is a dog friendly place. There are very strict rules posted such as no barking whatsoever is allowed. My dog is sweet and calm. Great little local find! We were looking for a spot where we could grab dinner and a beer outside, and a friend stumbled upon this place so we thought we would give it a try. In the times of COVID, it is sometimes hard to find a spot with ample outdoor seating. But this place definitely fit the bill! They had scannable menu QR code on the table that was directly linked to your table, so you could order food straight from the link! But there was also table service, so if you preferred you could order the old fashioned way. Love that they have both a pretty good food menu as well as a good beer list. Anyone who keeps Live Oak Hef on tap is a winner in my book! The food was good too. I split spinach and artichoke dip then had a wedge salad with chicken and avocado. I came here to meet with some associates last week and had a very pleasant experience. They had nonalcoholic offerings for me which I appreciated and a great Michelada mix. You order through QR codes on the table and can close your tab out or leave it open through that, with no need to actually walk up to the bar. I really liked that as we were meeting so we could order without having to get up from the table! Service was prompt and the staff was friendly. I got the three tacos meal and would say that it was good value and good quality food. We originally were going to sit outside, but there were no heaters out there on a chilly night. I think I found my neighborhood drinking spot! After driving past here a few times from the gym, I finally stopped in here and I keep coming back. Everything about this joint is superb. Lotsa beer options, good bar food and brunch items, friendly bartenders, and neighborhood atmosphere with a playground for kids and an old school arcade system on the left side. Food wise, I recommend the wings and for brunch, the fried chicken biscuit which would put any other brunch item to bed. As for beers, the Axis IPA is a solid one. They also do trivia nights (Wednesday's I think) if you wanna get your Jeopardy on. Not much parking options but you can park on the street. When I drove up I was kind of disappointed that there was no parking BUT there is parking diagonally across the street from there. I was also suppressed when I saw a kids jumping house. Yes! Met our adult children for an early lunch. Neat outdoor place. Out of a lot of items on menu. Food was good though. Brisket bites were good, not enough. (Not pictured). Burgers were small IMO and so was the parking lot. They do have parking available across the street. You scan, order and pay from table. Servers are nice. Food came out quickly. The servers did not come back to check on us, we had to go in to bar area to get refills. Now please allow me to rant. The rant is NOT about the restaurant, it is a rant about the patrons that got there after us. If not mistaken it was some type of realtor networking event. Everyone was friendly, probably 35+ in age so baffled by what we had to go through when we were ready leave the parking lot. It took at least 4 staff members, our son and daughter-in-law over 20 minutes after walking around and asking over and over again for the owners of white Hyundai and white Jeep that had blocked me and others in and a silver Ford F-150 4x4 that had blocked the whole parking lot exit. The owner of silver Ford ended up being a 60+ female and could have cared less. There was another white truck that had backed in that could have backed in further and would have helped with the situation. You would think people, especially older peeps would be aware of their surroundings and understand that they are not the only ones that had parked in the parking lot. It was lunch time, what if someone on their lunch hour & now late because of their actions. The owner of the white Hyundai was never found. Grateful to staff for helping & also that they were ready to call in the tow trucks to remove the inconsiderate customers' vehicles. They got lucky. read more
