The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. Food was delicious but veeeery indulgent. We will be back.

We were greeted by three different people - one that took our drink order, one that cleared our plates, and one that took our order. All were very nice people and gave excellent service! I forgot their names unfortunately. My receipt said Zachary but not sure which waiter that was. Between me and hubs, we had a Pan de campo, an order of Gulf Oysters "casino", (4) dressed oysters, a 16 oz dry aged ribeye, a snapper entree and a side of crab fried rice. We finished almost everything except a quarter of the Pan, about a quarter of the rice, and about a third of the ribeye. All were great dishes and would definitely order again. We skipped dessert because honestly none stood out to us. He said their popular dessert is the souffle but they were sold out. Our total before gratuity was about $250 and that included one cocktail. Hubs had their "classic" old fashioned which he said was excellent! Overall, highly recommended if you don't mind the splurge or for a special occasion!

The signature cocktails were definitely mixologist curated, well balanced in flavor and alcohol, the espresso martini made with rum as opposed to vodka was probably one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had and I think they should all be made that way now. I visited on Valentine's evening so we did make reservations but I do believe reservations are a standard regardless of the day. My only disappointment was that you have a two hour table time limit which is fine. The problem came in as it was very apparent that a lot of reservations including ours were booked over a private party so we were, albeit politely, rushed to close out before our allotted time limit to accommodate the party reservation. I'm glad we were able to enjoy a good amount of time here but I really feel bad for the people who arrived after us as I'm sure felt the same pressure to leave as well. With that said I would absolutely visit Aye Candy again.

The front looks like a nostalgic candy shop; so good I actually walked right past it the first time. Then that Christmas-kissed entrance opens up and you hit a hidden door. It's playful. It's exclusive. And yes, valet is only $10, so just do it. Inside? Modern-chic seduction. Velvet green barstools, moody lighting, the kind of space that pulls you in and keeps you close. Bring a date, bring your inner VIP, this is where you go to impress without even trying. Reservations recommended, but you might score walk-in magic like I did on a Saturday. Music? A smooth throwdown of EDM + Studio 54 vibes; you'll know exactly what I mean when you hear it. One of the owners welcomed me the second I walked in...set the tone right. I went straight for my signature: The Blackie (Black Manhattan). Pablo, the bartender, didn't miss a beat. Confident. Cool. You can just feel when someone knows their craft. Angel's Envy whiskey, flawless build, proper presentation this is how a night begins. Round two? The bold move: Tequila Martinez with El Tesoro Reposado. Pablo's eyes lit up...a twist on the OG classic and he was fully on board. Drinks? On point. Hospitality? World-class. Even the water refills were smooth. Tequila lineup is strong too...Ocho, El Tesoro, Don Fulano, Fortaleza; all the right hitters. And if you haven't tried a Tequila Martinez yet, lock that in for your next lounge run. This was just a nightcap... but trust me...Houston hasn't seen the last of me at Aye Candy. See you again soon!

They have a limited menu but everything is pretty healthy or a late bite to eat. I ended up getting the margarita pizza which is a wood fired pizza and it was delicious! I got two drinks while I was Ciao Bella and the blackberry mule. Both were delicious but the Ciao Bella was my favorite. the class was very fun easy to learn, and the instructor was very patient with us the class was almost like a speed dating event because you do a little bit of the lesson and then they clap and you move onto the next partner but it's open to couples as well if you don't want to switch. The bar space is actually pretty small but the outdoor patio is the main event. That's where everyone hangs out and dances.

The inside seating is nice and cozy with good music and the patio/rooftop is very nice. The cocktail menu has some variation for most palettes and are all reasonably priced. I ordered the Roma which was very good. The bubbles from the kombucha give it a nice subtle effervescence. The spiced rum and blood orange mesh very well together making for a great drink. My friend ordered the Lavender Cucumber Collin's. This drink didn't really put the lavender on the forefront which lead to it getting lost by the cucumber, same for the crème de violets, absent. The drink was overall refreshing and tasty to her standards. She let me know it was quite strong also, which she prefers. She also ordered the kale Caesar and really enjoyed it. It was perfectly sauced to her liking. Service was okay. Looks like there was only 2 people working for a midday shift around 2 o clock. But no complaints. Salad and drinks came out pretty quickly. The place was pretty empty, definitely looks like I could hold a nice little crowd. Overall a solid 4 stars and warrants a repeat visit so I can try out the food and appetizers.

Me and a friend split the Kebab Land mix that was recommended for 1 person, but it was the perfect amount of food for two people. The shish kebab skewer was super tender and had good flavor and the beef skewer was also tasty, but just a bit tough in my opinion. The chicken was moist and had a good charred flavor. The rice and grilled tomatoes were standard though the homemade bread was a bit thin and bland. Considering the bold flavors from the other elements of the food, the bread did complement it well. (6.5/10) Overall, the food is very comparable to other restaurants that serve this kind of cuisine. I think this place is definitely filling in a gap as there are not many other places in this area that serve this kind of food. If I were craving some kebabs and didn't want to drive too far I would definitely come back here. The owner was also super kind And the service was quick. Something else to note is that they only have bottled water that they charge for but the hot tea is free. The ambiance is super casual and parking is super easy because there are a ton of spots around as it is apart of a huge plaza.

Hard to mess that up though right? I asked if they had any stouts and if so, if they could provide a sample. I'm so happy I asked for a sample and didn't just order the "one" stout they had. The beer was flat. So disappointing! Overall, the place was okay. I'd more than likely return for their drink happy hour, but it's a hard pass outside of that.

I have been trying to get a table here for months but it is almost impossible to since they do not accept reservations for parties under 6 people and they do not answer the phone. At first I thought that it was just that busy that they were so understaffed that no one was there to answer the phone. Instead, I witnessed the hosts rejecting every call when the phone rings. In the past when I tried to get a table in person, I was told that the wait was about 45 minutes to an hour which made me choose a different place. However, this time I anticipated waiting that long. An hour goes by until I received a text stating that the table was ready. I got to the hostess within 3 minutes of the text when she tells me they gave my table away because it's been 5 minutes. I proceeded to show her the timestamps on my phone that clearly show it was not 5 minutes. Not only did I have to wait another 20 minutes for them to figure out their mistake but I was finally given a table at the back of the patio next to the extra chairs. It was truly the equivalent of sitting next to the bathroom or kitchen door. We placed our order and got our food. The food was over seasoned in ways that made it inedible. The tabouleh was drenched in lemon juice, and the kebab was dry and tasted like I was eating all spice from the spice jar itself. The hummus had no flavor and the meat topping was also over seasoned. Our waitress also barely checked on us.. We then ordered hookah. The hookah was also gross. They packed the top so much that you could barely smoke it without coughing up a lung. The vibes were not vibing because there was also a birthday every 10 minutes.. At this point I've memorized the birthday song. Safe to say that I'll be exclusively be giving my money to literally anyone other than Lava Lounge. If anyone needs a recommendation on good food and better vibes.. Patio by La Pasha. Huge plates, edible food and better hookah.

I walked in and let the hostess know that this was my first time and I just wanted hookah and a drink. Now it was at that moment she could have told me they didn't serve alcohol lol. She offered seating inside or out, and I chose inside. It was a hard choice, outside was a vibe! There were a lot of people on laptops, working, studying, etc., but I went on an off day so I chilled out this time. There were also people playing dominoes and cards, someone had their kid hanging out, someone was celebrating a birthday so they got a piece of cake with a sparkler and a small celebration by the staff. There was a lot going on during this lunch hour! I had a melon hookah and it lasted well over an hour without relighting. It was smooth and worth it. I tried an espresso martini (mocktail) and it was good and so pretty. My order was ready within about 5 mins or so with the hookah and drink. I didn't order food on this trip. Although you're able to smoke hookah inside, there was no issues for me with ventilation. The bathrooms are huge! There is a sink in each stall, privacy is appreciated. Here are my cons, but not a deal-breaker. First of all, no alcohol! Now I'm not a huge drinker but on this particular day I was looking for a kickback and wind down and didn't get that fully with a mocktail. You scan a QR code for their menu, which is pretty standard nowadays. I didn't see the hookah flavors available, so I stuck with what I normally get at other places. The waitress took FOREVER!! I made my initial order with the hookah and drinks and never saw her again to order food to try. Someone different brought my hookah and someone else brought the drink. I should've ordered all at one time but was still browsing the menu. When it was time for me to leave, I got up and went looking for someone to check me out. I had been there for almost an hour and a half which was a little longer than I originally planned to stay, because I was basically bar hopping solo on an off day. I was never told that gratuity was included. They use the standard electronic pad, so no printout was given when I checked out. I hate those things! I'm sure if you ask for a printout they can provide it though. Food - N/A but the hookah is 5 stars Service - Ambiance -
