I almost ran out of clothes so I decided to come do laundry versus buying new clothes. I did not want to make my check bag heavier when going to the airport with new clothes. I do not mind cleaning my clothes as I am frequently in NYC so its okay if I am here for a few hours. Nestled in trendy Upper East Side of Manhattan is this normal laundry mat. I like the name they used. I am assuming they have multiple locations since this location is called number two. The inside is pretty typical of a laundromat and nothing special about it. This location requires you obtain a card and put credit on it for the washing and drying machines. There is no coin machines here at this site. It can be a pain trying to get change or putting coins in the machine. I like simply entering the card in and boom! Very smooth process. Now the cost is as follows. The small washing machines are $4 while the bigger ones are $7.50. Drying is 40 cents per 7 minutes. They sell a mini box of detergent and a mini box of dryer sheets for $1. The wash time took 25 minutes and the drying time took 30 minutes. I sit outside and people watch since it is in a cool neighborhood in NYC. I was not bored at all and in the end I was very happy that I had clean clothes finally that will last me the duration of my time here. I will be back here again ONLY if need to wash again.

I told the lady when I got there about the spot, and she sorta nodded her head. I think the reviews are right, I don't think their english is good. But if that's the case, that's totally fine, but make sure instructions are clear before you accept a job from a customer! The jacket came back with the same oil spot. So I put a simple spot treater and washed it myself, and it came right out. When I went back to the store, they said the manager didn't work there and to call another number. Jian's is pretty busy on Sundays but you still always manage to find a machine. Prices here are the cheapest after surveying the area. It's a no frills laundromat and the machines work well. They pick up my laundry, handle it with care, and deliver it promptly. I trust this place with my clothes.
