We wanted to love EIM Thai, but hmmm. They seem to put a spin on traditional Thai dishes. While I appreciate the effort, the final products didn't 100% impress me. The Pad Thai, for instance, used super thin noodles that just didn't have the same satisfying bite you'd expect. The fish sauce? Excessive, to put it mildly. It's almost as if they were trying to make up for a lack of flavor by drowning everything in salt and sauce. The curry? Let's talk about that. It was meant to be spicy, sure, but what I got was a sweat-inducing, face-glowing experience. If you're into full heat when it should be a notch down, as ordered, then this place is for you. That from a person who usually does very hot foods, but not the hottest of hot. The portions also were on the smaller side. On the plus side, the location is super convenient just a quick drive around the corner from that famous rock formation everyone loves. The service? Perfectly fine. No complaints there. I can't really talk on service or ambiance only because I didn't pick up the food, my friend did. But the pricing was pretty good. EIM Thai is not what it once was. My group went here the other night and I borderline felt bad. The portion sizes are small even though the prices are good. #shrinkflation. The food itself was really boring. My wife and I shared drunken noodles, and green curry. We were both underwhelmed, while eating I was daydreaming about a different restaurant. My FIL added extra veggies to his drunken noodles, it looked much better/appropriately served this way. The server was friendly and not overbearing. The ambiance is modern. The ambience is clean and green, it's very nice inside. The chairs are metal and can be cold! The service was good, and attentive. We ordered larb for the table. It was a bit saltier than expected, and the rice is extra even though it comes with. The rice wasn't sticky like how I'm used to from Thai/Laos places. The pad Thai was delicious! I would 10/10 recommend ordering it for sure! The drunken noodle was ordered with medium spice but honestly was not spicy at all. I always fear ordering Thai spicy bc it can be extreme heat but I think I could have handled it here. The other dish, I forget its name but was beef and basil dish was good. The soup came out with the pad Thai, and you could tell the soup had been sitting for quite some time because it was lukewarm. And instead of bringing the soup with two small bowls, the server dropped the soup in front of me with a single spoon. Didn't she asked, do you want two plates? I nodded yes. This establishment appears to be family owner. It has the charm of a small town cafe. I like to imagine that they know the names of their regulars. We stopped by here to enjoy a meal before going to Garden of the Gods and the reviews did not disappoint. The food is very tasty and made in a unique way that still showcases iconic Thai flavors while taking advantage of local ingredients. We tried pad kra pow, Panang fish curry and veggie fried rice. Pad kra pow is minced meat with veggies. It had Serrano instead of Thai and it also had green beans and bell peppers, which I wasn't used to but have since begun adding it to my meal at home for a more balanced diet. The theme of balance is observed throughout the remaining dishes. Lots of veggies to counter the meat and carbs. Is it enough? 100% not. But it's definitely more than I expected and a great head start on some much-needed fiber fueling. Definitely will be back next time we're in Colorado Springs! read more

So, I want to start of saying normally this place is good. I ordered my food and I was asking if the egg was sunny side up and placed on top of the dish, and the women who answered gave me a smart remark like "You had fried rice before...its the egg in there." I went ahead an placed the order (against my better judgement). I picked up my food, left a tip like always. She put so much black pepper in it, that was all I could taste. I could not even taste the other food and flavors. Just black pepper. Really enjoyed this spot! The space was bright, clean and had lots of greenery. The decor was endearing. The staff were very attentive and helpful. They were very quick to get us items we requested or to refill our drinks when they were getting low. This was a nice spot for lunch. The green curry was really lovely and light. The three grilled chicken on the stick with peanut sauce, diced cucumbers were delicious so was the fried rice that I ordered. We visited this little gem last spring while on an overnight visit after seeing the Garden of the Gods. It's an unassuming little strip mall location but big on flavor and authenticity. Our main gripe with most Thai restaurants is their preparations are overly sweet. That's no the case here. You'll find all the standard and expected dishes but also some you might not see at your local takeout joint. The owners are very friendly and it's a family run establishment. I came here for dinner on a Saturday night around 8PM and it was quite full. I got the curry noodle and wanted flat rice noodles, to which I was told I'd be charged $2.50 for it. What! This is easily by far the most authentic, tastiest Thai restaurant in the Springs - a must go to if you love a nice bowl of green curry or soft, chewy drunken noodles. The restaurant is fairly small and very popular, but for good reason - the staff is incredibly friendly, the service is great, and their food is consistently superb. Green Curry with Chicken: 5/5 - the best green curry I've had. There's ample servings of a good mix of veggies (usually eggplant, red pepper, and bamboo shoots) and the curry it's perfectly flavored (salty and creamy). It usually requires an extra serving of rice, which will cost you a buck, but definitely worth ordering to sop up every drop of the curry. Pad Khee Mao: 5/5 - the noodles are soft but chewy and also flavored so well. They give you generous amounts of meat (your choice) and veggies. Great for leftovers too as the noodles somehow manage to stay silky. Highly recommend! Pineapple Fried Rice: 4.5/5 - personally not my favorite, but still delicious. There's not that much pineapple in it and sometimes the rice can be a little dry, but the flavors and ingredients making up for whatever it is lacking. Thai Iced Tea: 5/5 - a classic, one that they give you in a giant glass. One of the best spots to eat in Colorado Springs. After years of being disheartened by the lc I of authentic Asian food, this place has replaced the hole in my heart! read more
