I have been waiting for this place called Einstein Bros Bagels to finally return to the Fred'burg area. It's in a newer location on the corner lot of Plank Rd and Bragg Rd. They have parking that is shared with other businesses. As you walked in, they have an open kitchen concept, it's clean, limited seatings and à wide window all around. They offer not only a variety selection of bagel sandwiches from breakfast to lunch but also muffins, cookies, desserts, iced and hot beverages. I ordered 2 sandwiches: 1) Nova Lox on pumpernickel. The bagel itself was fresh, soft, lightly toasted around the edges and with a hint of sweetness. The ingredients of shmear, tomatoes, capers, red onions and cold smoked salmon. The red onions were sliced too large and it was little overpowering but with the generous portion of shmear and capers hitting your palate, it was amazingly delicious. 2) Texas Brisket Egg on cheddar jalapeno. The combination of ingredients such as smoked beef brisket, smoked chipotle aioli, eggs and cheese makes this sandwich delicious too but what took it up a notched was the jalapeños. I wish there were more of the jalapeños topping on that cheddar bagel. All staff were friendly, knowledgeable and shown great team work. I will definitely make another visit to try other items on their menu.

Ham egg and cheese on apple cinnamon bagel with cold brew

This location just opened so we came in. It was very busy. We waited in line for around 8 minutes and then another 10 minutes to get our bagel sandwiches. I ordered a large vanilla cold brew, I don't like the vanilla in it , I would not get that again. I ordered a ham, egg and cheese on an apple cinnamon bagel. I think this sandwich would taste better on a regular bagel and the apple cinnamon bagel would be better by itself. My daughter ordered a veggie sandwich and she said that was pretty good. Overall I will go back and try different bagels by themselves. I want to try the cold brew plain. The inside is tight not a lot of room to move around. The hours are from 6 am till 2 pm.

I miss the old Einstein that was in Eagle Village back in the day! Think Roses. I just got an Asiago bagel and chive cream cheese Meh. And there's a weird after taste. I mean food isn't what it used to be anyway but this was just ok. The bagel is too chewy for me. No bite to the cream cheese. It was okay. I mean they have all these gadgets to make stuff I just want tasty food. Coffee was a no. No body, bitter. I might come back try in a few weeks or a month this was grand opening. Always room for improvement.

The bagels and shmears or the Farmhouse Egg sandwiches are delicious! You have to get there early before the line is out the door.

We miss it because we used to have a Balkan restaurant near our home but it closed down. Not all the pastries were up our alley but the coffee alone is worth a trip. Can't wait to return!

As usual, my wife started looking for a place we haven't been before. Having been in Fredericksburg now for almost 2 1/2 years, the list of such places is getting shorter. We were out Route 3 west of 95, and she found a place called Affogato Europa Cafe. It's a family-run cafe and bakery featuring pastries, sandwiches, coffees, and lots of other sweets. It was a very clean, friendly looking place. We looked at the menu and my wife decided to have a Beef and Onion Burek, which is a traditional Balkan flaky pastry filled with, in this case, beef and onions. It was fantastic. Very flavorful and the pastry melted in your mouth. I'm a sucker for anything with the word "breakfast" in it. I had the Balkan Breakfast Panini. This marvelous sandwich contains egg, chorizo, cheese spread, provolone, tomato, and arugula. It was outstanding and the chorizo was very tasty (though a bit hard to bite through). I know I love a sandwich when after I put the last bite in my mouth, I feel a little sad because it is all done. Such was the case here. My wife had a Cortado espresso, which she loved but was a bit strong for me. I had a London Fog, which seemed like a latte with a hint of Earl Gray tea. I loved it, and when my wife tasted it she pronounced it "nummy". She doesn't use that word a lot so when she does I know she loves it. After lunch we split a Lava Cake, which is a small but decadent chocolate cupcake. The dining room was small but comfortable. The servers we encountered at the counter were very friendly. Rest room was very clean. It's not really close to us, but when were shopping out on Route 3, we'll certainly try them again.

Well this was unexpected…read more.. Okay.So first, they have friendly people who really know the restaurant that they're in, which is kind of cool. And this place is amazingly clean. So we got pies, me and my wife.We got pies. I got the meat pie.The very first one on the list and I have to tell you it was great. I did make a mistake though. If I had to do it all over again, I would wait till it cools a little bit. I would not cut it in half. I would very carefully remove that top crusty layer, ohh, my god, what a feast of flavor. Secondly, for god's sake, don't cut the d*** thing in half. Use the little plastic fork and knife and cut about an inch and a half or two inches of the crust off of one edge of the pie. This does two things first. It lets you taste this amazing crust by itself. And on its own and trust me, it does stand alone. That when the pie cools a little bit more, then, you can pick it up and eat it from one edge, All the way through to the other edge. Because if you cut it in half, you have to deal with the widest part twice. And that gets it all over your face. But hey, if you're a face eater, go all the way. We got the dessert pie, it was small. We cut it in half, and we each had half. And that was easy to deal with in half. But make no mistake, this is a good meal. And they have so many options. And might I say good options. Now, I have to come back so many times to be able to try all the different kinds. However, if you're just driving through and you want something to grab and take in the car with you. Yup this is the stop. This is the place you want to get into and out of quickly because you can get in and out quickly. I would venture to say, with the average time in a mcdonald's being around twenty five minutes just to get your food, you can probably get real food here faster unless they're really busy. That happens if they're really busy, just be patient. It's worth the wait.

It's a nice little stand alone coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a drive-thru. Immediately upon pulling into their well maintained parking lot, the exterior drew us in with a modern aesthetic and clean textured appearance. The inside continues the same appeal with their various seating arrangements and displays. We love, support, and appreciate their mission (evidenced by their merch & decor), which is to serve coffee and culture to those who love America. The service has always been phenomenal--friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We've come at less busy times so we haven't had to wait in line or wait long for our order to be fulfilled. They offer 5 signature beverages, aptly called "Hero Beverages, which consist: Liberty Bell (caramel & vanilla), Betsy Ross (wild blackberry & white mocha), Jet Fuel (spiced brown sugar & energy boost), 1776 (sea salt toffee caramel & mocha), and Smokey Joe (hickory smoke). These are available iced or hot. My go-to is the Liberty Bell. They also offer some tasty treats, sweet and savory. We've enjoyed their blueberry muffin and their sausage & egg on a waffle. I find that some of their food items have usually run out or have changed since our last visit. Granted, we usually get here mid-morning or later in the afternoon. There are 2 individual restrooms available, which are usually clean and well maintained. Overall, we enjoy stopping by this place for our little pick-me-up as we're passing through on our long trips. We also appreciate that we can support a business that are committed to upholding our military personnel, law enforcement, and first responders.
