Had one of the best breakfast bagel sandwiches from here. I don't eat pork so them having turkey sausage for an option won me over big time! I've seen this place around a few times but never thought to eat from here being under the impression it's like Panera. Never judge a book by its cover they say. This place offers way more then Panera as far as bagels, literally any type you can think of they have it here. I ordered the spinach and asiago cheese turkey sausage bagel sandwich. They had so many other options it was so hard to make my mind up. The service was good s/o to the person who took my order and answered every question I had. Food and service was a 10/10 for me. I will for sure be ordering here agin, definitely recommend giving this place a try and very disappointed on the low rating of starts. read more

The service here is incompetent and rude. I'm trying to get a bagel and there was only one other person in the building that was a customer, yet somehow it took more than 5 minutes for me to even be addressed by a cashier who was then rude and did not take my order correctly. I specifically told her what I wanted, that I wanted it sliced and toasted, and a tub of cream cheese. She proceeds to somehow mess that up and when I pointed it out to her asked for a refund because it had been so long at that point that I was bordering on late at work despite there being more than one worker but only one other customer. I asked for a refund and then the rude cashier was unable to process it on my original form of payment, and then got rude when I made a comment about it. What am I really supposed to do with $7 cash? The rude cashier who can't take orders, or refund orders properly is also the manager... Who refused to provide a receipt or their name and even told me she wasn't going to help me if I wasn't nice. To her. I don't think getting my food as I ordered it in a timely manner is rude. I don't think asking for my money back when that service isn't rendered to me with that expectation is rude. That girl is bad at her job and got embarrassed when she was called out about it and then got rude with me. And then is refusing to identify herself because she knows that she is in the wrong. So not only can you expect poor services it will come with rudeness if you try to correct it. Curbside pick up was supposed to be available but we called the restaurant at least 10 time once we arrived and nobody ever answered the phone. Finally we decided to just go inside to grab the bagels. When we got home we saw that one of the bagels we ordered was replaced with a plain bagel. Additionally, one of our other bagels which was supposed to have "schmear" did not. As I was eating, I also found a hair embedded in another bagel. In other words, the hair was baked into the bagel. So out of the 5 items ordered (4 bagels and a drink), 3 were messed up and one of those was inedible due to the hair. The bagels that we could eat were rather bland. I do not recommend. read more

I usually enjoy visiting Einstein's but the last few visits the quality of food has been horrible. I ordered a pizza bagel, and politely asked if it could be on an asiago bagel. One of the few chain restaurants in the city I'll visit from time to time. The reason? The sandwiches are pretty darn good. Consistently. One of the reasons I think it's a two-star visit? The dining area is a hot mess. Consistently My question: is it part of the cleaning plan to attend to the floors weekly, or monthly? Today on my visit (the sandwiches were fine), there's no way a single floor mat or floor area has been swept or the rugs shaken out in the past week. Gross. But it is consistent. Leaves, dirt, trash from tables and... well, not very appetizing. Probably why I'd never consider dining in but always get it to go. Understand they've had some staffing issues in the past. Hope they get it straightened out. But for now, assigning an employee with the responsibility of cleaning the front of the house would be a very wise business plan for the manager--assuming there's one there that cares and is paying attention. read more

I am not only dissatisfied, I am quite angry. This business is running a blatant scam. I am a member of the discount club. As such, I received an email today that said I could get a baker's dozen (13 bagels) for $9.00. I went to the store and ordered my bagels, and when I was checking out, they tried to charge me full price, even though they had scanned the bar code in the email. I objected, and they changed the amount, but it was still quite a bit higher than the advertised price. I objected again, and they tacked on a $5.00 discount. Still, the total was much more than the advertised price. I was told that they had charged me for two tubs of cream cheese. I told them I did not order cream cheese. He told me they always charge for cream cheese unless I tell them I don't want it. I said that was pretty sneaky. He then tried to insult my intelligence by claiming that's the way everybody does it-- "If you order a drink somewhere, they always give you a large unless you tell them otherwise"--which is a steaming load of dung. No one has ever done that. Ever. And even though he charged me for cream cheese, there was no cream cheese in the box. I finally showed him the email, and told him I wanted the 13 bagels the email advertised, I didn't want cream cheese, and I wanted them for the advertised price. So he finally rang it up correctly. This is completely unacceptable. This person deserves to be fired. If he's the manager, they need to hire a new manager, and teach him how to give the customer the advertised product at the advertised price, without trying to scam them by charging them for something they don't want and didn't order, and not even giving them what they charged them for. Wanted something different for lunch today and consulted Yelp. Came across Einstein Brothers Bagels on Mass Street Street in Lawrence, KS. Downloaded their app and placed an order. App works very well. Because I signed up and ordered through the app, I was also offered a free coffee and free bagel w/shmear (Garden Veggie). Along with that, I ordered a Nova Lox bagel. I also added four everything bagels and an order of Garden Veggie shmear for breakfast over the next few days. All of the food was fresh and delicious! I also enjoyed the Vanilla Hazelnut coffee. The staff was friendly and helpful. The curbside pick up works well, although traffic and parking can be challenging on Massachusetts street. The person who brought my food out was polite, friendly, and was wearing a mask which is appreciated. I highly recommend Einstein Brothers Bagels and will purchase from them again. read more

This was my first time ever coming to this place. I have wanted to stop in before but downtown Lawrence is kind of a deterrent for me simply because it is a very touristy congested area and parking is ridiculously hard to find so I rarely come to this area. But I wanted a nice breakfast item to eat this morning so I decided to stop in. I wasn't really overly impressed with the inside dining and I wasn't staying, so that really is not important. I took my Food to go. I ordered a turkey sausage and egg asiago bagel with a twice baked hash brown and a churro doughnut. I have to say that the bagel was delicious however it seem to lack something, I don't know what it was. It bordered on being just a little dry, so maybe the missing element was some type of moisture some type of condiment to go on the bagel. But it did taste good though. I was a little disappointed with the twice baked hash brown. It had good flavor but it was very gluggy and dense. If they could just lighten that up a little it would be perfect. The star of my meal was actually the churro doughnut. As you all know churros have a lot of cinnamon and so I was a little hesitant to get it but to my surprise it had a very little cinnamon and sugarAnd this was great because this allowed you to be able to enjoy the cream cheese frosting that was on the inside. The small amount of cinnamon and sugar allowed you to not be overpowered with sweetness when you tasted the cream cheese frosting so it was the perfect bite. Overall I'm unsure if I will be back, the biggest reason is the location I just don't care for the downtown Lawrence area, and even though I enjoyed the food, I just don't know if it was enough To make me venture to an area that I really don't enjoy. The dining room was a bit "close" for comfort though. They let you fix your own here - there's a canister of chilled coffee and a carafe of half-and-half. $2 for a small. Do't know if there are free refills on the iced coffee or not. read more

Right now, Einstein has the Tuscan Tasty Turkey, which is basically the same but on a seasoned bagel instead of Asiago. Bottomline: EVERYONE MUST TRY IT! It was simply amazing. The staff is ALWAYS slow - if there's more than 3 people in line, you'd better not have any place to be.
