Gates 5-10 in Terminal 1 at the San Diego airport only offered burgers and salads in this area on a Monday evening, so the food selection was limited. I opted for the bagel shop for dinner cuz I wanted something different, and unfortunately the bagel options at Einstein Bros Bagels were limited too. Ended up getting the plain option for my pepperoni pizza bagel (you can only choose from the bagel flavors available in the display case). To make matters worse, they also didn't offer any diet beverages. But I was pleasantly surprised with how everything turned out. The pizza bagel was served hot and fresh, nicely toasted and smothered with lots of yummy melted cheese (more than I get on actual pizza!), the pepperoni and sauce adding just the right spice. I was happy to get my "pizza" fix while in SD, even if I was already at the airport and on my way out. Plus, quick service at the order counter and the wait for my food being less than 10 minutes allowed for a great experience overall.

Great bagels, nicely toasted, with many options of whipped cream cheese and spreads. The blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese and cinnamon sugar bagel with plain cream cheese were my favorites. The bagel has a nice chew and crunch. The workers were also very friendly. The bagel was cut crooked... but still tasted good.

I love the jalapeños cheese bagels !! They have a good variety and you can't go wrong with a fresh flavored bagel. They also have a wide option of spreads.

Didn't get a picture of the food because we ate it in one breath... we got the all nighter after an engagement party (and on to a wedding today). Really made my stomach feel so much better. The line was really long but we got our food quickly within 5 mins!

When you need a meal or even a drink while waiting for your flight, this is a great spot to go to. Never too busy, a friendly staff and a great selection of food and drink that are reasonably priced. I never hesitate to drop by here. Be back soon.

Stopped for a quick bite to eat on my way out of the San Diego airport. Ordered the Six Cheese Bagel with Onion and Chive Cream Cheese. The bagel was very fresh, super soft and cheesy. The staff was very friendly and had my order ready in no time!

This place is conveniently located at the airport right before you enter thru TSA. The cashier wasn't really friendly but maybe she was having a rough day so early in the am. It wasn't busy so the wait wasn't too long to revive my food. Everything tasted ok but grateful I was no longer hungry.

Under 10 minutes with a few in line and the mocha iced latte is just the right treat for my flight to Vegas. Thanks Einstein, you're a genius!

The moment you step inside, the bi-level space makes a striking impression with its mid-century accents, exposed brick, and warm, moody lighting. It manages to balance a lively, energetic atmosphere with an effortless chicness that feels tailored for a memorable night out. The happy hour here is an absolute standout, featuring an expansive array of creative food options and crafted drinks. The menu brings an inventive Asian fusion twist to bar bites, offering flavor-forward small plates that pair seamlessly with the beverage program. The drinks deserve equal applause: the craft cocktails are meticulously balanced, and the signature ube-inspired cocktails are as vibrant and distinct as they are delicious. Adding to the venue's overall charm is the live music program. Catching live jazz, soul, and blues sets elevates the entire experience from a simple dinner run into a full sensory event. The music creates a vibrant, soulful backdrop without overpowering table conversation, striking just the right rhythm for intimate catch-ups or energetic group gatherings. Whether you are dropping in for a quick drink, indulging in a multi-dish happy hour spread, or lingering late for the live tunes and exceptional cocktails, Books & Records captures everything that makes CS Hospitality's concepts so special. It is a stylish, fun, and flavorful addition to San Diego's dining scene.

Lots of inside seating. Our waitress Allie was super friendly. We had the short rib hash & the florentine Benedict. Both were delicious and the presentation was great. Thank goodness there was room too, because wow oh wow. It has been three weeks and we keep talking about that happy hour. LOL I appreciated that their happy hour menu wasn't all snackable appetizers; there were smaller-sized dishes for those less hungry, too! I ordered the Kiwilango slider + fries, my mom got the HH fish & chips, and my dad got the wagyu smash slider. Plus $10 beers, of course. Everything came out quickly and beautifully portioned, which made getting dessert (magpie ice cream cake) a no brainer. Delicious!!! I didn't stray into their full Kiwi-based dinner menu, but I can fully vouch for their happy hour, the cozy, charming vibes, kind and attentive servers, and flavorful dishes. Would absolutely recommend and will be coming back next time I'm in town!

My wife ordered the sampler plate, and I had the Eggs Benedict. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The prices were also very reasonable, especially compared with many of the restaurants near the Convention Center. The combination of great food, fun atmosphere, and good value makes this place an easy recommendation. The restaurant was pretty empty since they were about to close, but it was a cute little spot overall. I ordered the hot chicken Benedict, and it was delicious. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and everything tasted fresh. The only issue was that there were several flies around our booth inside that kept landing near and getting into our food, so we constantly had to shoo them away. Hopefully, they can address that because otherwise, we had a good experience and enjoyed the food!
