I think this is a relatively new Einstein in the newly remodeled Terminal 2. Service was friendly and super quick. There was no line or wait. The menu offers a great selection of sandwich options. The case of fresh bagels was enticing. We ordered breakfast sandwich bagels and coffee, since we both had long flights. The Bacon, Avocado, Tomato with one egg on plain toasted bagel was delicious. The portions of bacon and avocado were decent. The egg was cooked perfectly. The tomato and avocado added freshness to the sandwich. This is a high-end sandwich for $8.99. My brother had an egg, bacon and cheese bagel. He enjoyed his sandwich. The coffee is really good with a nutty flavor and not bitter. There are about a dozen tables in the quiet dining area. Humorous Einstein Bagel posters decorate the walls and made me smile. This was a perfect little fast breakfast for a visit before flying out. read more

This Einstein Bros is in terminal 1 at SAN. It was fast and easy. Customer service was fair but not very cordial. It is crowded in this area as the terminal is small and tight all around. Gates 5-10 in Terminal 1 at the San Diego airport only offered burgers and salads in this area on a Monday evening, so the food selection was limited. I opted for the bagel shop for dinner cuz I wanted something different, and unfortunately the bagel options at Einstein Bros Bagels were limited too. Ended up getting the plain option for my pepperoni pizza bagel (you can only choose from the bagel flavors available in the display case). To make matters worse, they also didn't offer any diet beverages. But I was pleasantly surprised with how everything turned out. The pizza bagel was served hot and fresh, nicely toasted and smothered with lots of yummy melted cheese (more than I get on actual pizza!), the pepperoni and sauce adding just the right spice. I was happy to get my "pizza" fix while in SD, even if I was already at the airport and on my way out. Plus, quick service at the order counter and the wait for my food being less than 10 minutes allowed for a great experience overall. read more

I got a cheddar egg bagel sandwich and an Albuquerque Turkey bagel sandwich, which is turkey, jalapeños, cream cheese, cheddar, lettuce and tomato. Both bagel sandwiches were really good. She helped me on two different nights this summer and was extremely kind. At night time they don't have a full selection of bagel choices but they were still good. Came to eat here during my layover between flights, wanted something decent. Unfortunately the bagels and bread are good! But lot of things on the menu are hit and miss. I ordered a caramel cold brew shake and they gave me a literally blended MILK shake, no coffee, a tiny drizzle of caramel, it just tasted like pure blended milk! Disgusting! Ordered avocado toast thinking you can't mess that up too bad, wrong! The avocados were hard and not ripe and they drowned the bagel in pepper so you have to choke it down just to take a bite. I threw away my meal that's how horrible it tasted. Very disappointed to have spent $32 on this sorry ass meal ); especially when there's not many selections to choose from in this specific terminal. I still had at least an hour of layover before my next flight so I figured to might as well get something "small". Ordered a Santa Fe - it tasted great with their sauce. The bagel itself was just a "meh" though - I've had better. Overall, I would still recommend it. This was the most reasonable pricing food in this Gate 5-10 area. The line was crazy long at 9am, but it moved pretty fast at the ordering kiosk. The wait for the food wasn't too horrible either, but I wish they gave us numbers or something because they never get my name right on the paper...even if I spell it for them (so whoever calls my name usually make up a completely different name) and it gets confusing during pick up time, especially since there were 20 other ppl waiting for their food. read more

Just a quick pop in I love this little place. I have only been a handful of times. It's been a life saver for my early flights I've had. I typically order the pepperoni pizza bagel and a smoothie. Best part of the All-nighter is that hint of jalapeño in the aioli, and the bagel toasted to perfection. Not sure what time they close but I came in between 7:40-7:50PM. I wonder if I arrived right before closing time? Where the workers slacking because it's closing time? The Nova Lox (bagel with salmon and cream cheese) was the worst bagel I have ever had. They slapped a whole lot of cream cheese - it was messy!!!; and they didn't even toast the bagel. A great stop at the San Diego Airport. Einstein Bros. Bagels is located in Terminal 1 next to some Southwest gates. There are only a few food places in this Terminal, so this place is really popular for people with early morning flights. I have no complaints here. I ordered the egg white bagel sandwich and their regular coffee. Their coffee is self serve, so you are able to drink your coffee while waiting for your food. The bagel sandwich was excellent; really hearty and filling. Defiantly recommend. When I was there, the line was really long, however, the workers really seemed to be working fast to get people their orders as soon as possible. Great customer service. read more
