I was in need of a gym and having a pool was one of the requirements so that limited the options in…read morethe area for me that wasn't a 20 minute+ drive way so I decided to check out Equinox first and ended up really liking the vibe. The classes feel like studio classes (like barre or spin, etc.) that you'd be paying almost $200/month for without any amenities or regular gym equipment. I've been to other gyms in the past that had a lot of hm, lets just call it people watching and social hour. Folks here are definitely here to workout, do their own thing and friendly. Definitely a no judgement zone. I also had some hesitations based on other reviews about not being able to freeze or cancel membership within the first year especially if you have an injury and what not but decided to go for it anyway despite that, more on that later. Some other other gyms didn't seem to be any better based on those reviews so it probably would've been similar issues elsewhere anyway. When you initial sign up, they give you some comp sessions with a trainer (to obviously sell you personal training) but it's something I wanted to try anyway. I thought, why not, let's give it a go for a few months since I thought it would be good to get an extra boost and back into a routine. Well, a few months had passed and then I had some travel plans so I was away from the gym but then came back from my travels with a severe knee injury where I could barely walk. It sucked but I showed up anyway. Not because I couldn't cancel my membership due to the contract terms but because I needed movement for rehab. I was initially hesitant about returning to training because I felt like I wouldn't be training at 100%. And let's be real, the training sessions aren't cheap. After some discussion with physical therapist for a rehab plan, I decided to return to training with Summer and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. Summer programed exercises for me to supplement my PT. She has been really awesome to work with, because my program needed a lot of re-working along the way to adapt to my rehab progress. She's also open to feedback and really great with listening to my input on things that I want to work on. While I am still ways away from being 100% recovered from my knee injury, I already feel like it's night and day compared to just a few months ago. So why only 4 stars? Well, only taking one off is quite generous despite some issues with their app, specifically for training and the so-so amenities in the locker room. The app isn't the best and there were some miscommunications with it that led to a lot of frustration but the training manager Matt was really nice and made it right. The other reason for taking off the star was the amenities which they finally changed to something that smells way better. The previous products didn't smell good and it seemed like the shampoo, body wash, and face cleanser seemed like it was all the same soap in the shower. Didn't feel like there is anything different between the stuff in the bottles. It wouldn't even upset me that there was just one multipurpose wash but the same soap in the different bottles is just confusing for me. Like what's the point? Anyway, good riddance with the old stuff. I haven't tried the new stuff yet aside from the lotion that smells heavenly. I haven't been to the other locations to compare but this one is sufficient for my needs.

Was in the area and decided to tour the location. Was shown around by Desiree. She was pleasant but…read moreseemed new. The location is interesting inside of this big mall like area. Parking can be annoying as there's many competing business around. The weight area is small and seems cramped for prime time. There was some small group training going on and navigating through them while being shown around was awkward, I could only imagine this place when it's after work. I was shown around the place at 2-3PM on a weekday. Aside from the small 7ish group training whatever it was going on there was no other active classes going on. Other reviews express concerns with classes being cancelled or the lack of them existing yet the site promotes their app with "lots of classes." So that would be concerning if you're a class attendee. I'm personally more into weight training and their equipment is outdated and the space is again.. very cramped. The saunas are nice, cool to have a heated rooftop pool but others have expressed issues with its heating. Locker rooms are nice. The main drawback is their membership. Desiree touted at them being the best location but the membership requirements of committing to a year are laughable. If you're the best, what would stop you from allowing members a month to month to make sure you're delivering on the promises and experience? This membership practice seems snaky to me. Get someone to sign up, they are forced into 3k~/year for an experience that doesn't justify its price tag. I emailed her back letting her know and that I'd be happy to try them out on a month to month in case I just can't work though some of my concerns and it got forwarded to management and then crickets. Similar concerns here with membership, management and classes exist on this page. Sign up at your own risk - but I'd recommend steering clear of this one. Seems like more of a vanity membership than anything else.

He'll say all the right things to get you to sign up and then you realize it's all just hot air and broken promises. New kids are constantly brought on to the team well after the deadline, presumably for less money than you paid. That is not verified but I don't see why kids would pay the high season fee if joining 2 months into the season. He recruits the best players he can possibly convince to play for him -- which is fine if it wasn't such a revolving door. Adding kids every week means there's no stability or chemistry. During the games, it's just street ball without any sets. Every kid for himself. One reason to join AAU is to get games that are a cut above runs at the park. Not here. If you're at all tempted, I'd watch a game before you join to see how he coaches. It's all about him. Classic narcissist -- gets in the kids faces berating them with spittle spraying out. Then he'll sparingly throw in a compliment to keep his hooks in. And the feedback isn't even useful. It's all about him. "Don't sit on the bench like that. You look lazy." If you're looking for all the downsides of Bobby Knight, without any of the upside, this might be your team. Otherwise, you can do much better with any other AAU team in the area, even if it means a commute. Keep in mind you'll often be driving to practice in Hayward - playing in tournaments all over - so don't let proximity to the listed address be a factor in joining.

I'm not just reviewing this place on a recent, pleasant dog walk (which is a great place to do and they have doggie fountains here as well). No... my roots go way deeper here. Growing up in the area before there was the large Target and City Lot nearby, before the local government offices, this park is where me and a close knit group of friends would go every night. We weren't causing any trouble. We just didn't really have anywhere else to go, but we all looked forward to hanging out most nights, especially during the summers. We would skate in the parking lot or possible play basketball (they had a few full courts where the offices are built now). At one point a few of my friends worked with the city to help design and build out the skate park (I see there names on the plaque to this day in late 2025). I remember my friends putting on and being part of small music fests that was held in the amphitheater area. I even remember working some events held at the event building on the south side of the park. Just a great park with lots of parking, events schedules, and just every day things to do. Lot of personal memories as well.

The grass was green and well kept, and there was plenty of space for kids to run around. The covered picnic areas with a roof was so nice and perfect for rainy days or a hot sunny weather, and it offered many things to keep kids entertained such as a good-sized playground. It's clean, easy, and works well for group gatherings. Only downside is the restrooms were available but not very clean, and parking can get a bit tight. Overall, a reliable spot for things like birthday parties without feeling chaotic.

Before we discovered DUBs, he had a deep passion for the game but lacked consistency and direction. Since training with Coach Bashir, he's experienced tremendous growth - not just in terms of skill development, but also in his understanding of the game, his mindset and the way he carries himself both on and off the court. He's become more focused, disciplined and confident. That's entirely thanks to Coach Bashir's incredible coaching approach. As a parent, I truly appreciate the high level of professionalism within the program. Communication is consistently clear, practices are well-structured and every coach genuinely cares about the growth and development of each player. The program stands out for its strong basketball expertise and the way concepts are broken down clearly, helping players stay both motivated and involved. My son's love for the game has only grown stronger and his skills have advanced significantly - all thanks to the amazing coaching and the supportive, well-run environment created by the entire DUBs team. This program is a must for any young athlete - I fully recommend it.
