Severe Safety Hazard - Poor Maintenance on Tennis Court Nets…read more The maintenance of the indoor tennis court side nets at Bay Club Pleasanton is unacceptable and poses a major safety risk to players. The side divider nets have multiple large tears and holes. When running down wide-angle shots, players run the risk of getting hands, racquets, or feet snagged. Tonight around 7:36 PM on Court 5, my shoe got caught in one of these holes while I was moving near the side net. I lost my balance and fell hard, scraping my arm and hand while my shoe remained stuck in the net. Just last week, I witnessed another player catch their hand in a separate hole in the net and end up bleeding. Additionally, the heavy black bottom edging of the nets drags loosely on the court surface, creating an extra tripping and slipping hazard. Management urgently needs to repair or replace these divider nets before someone suffers a more severe injury. I am attaching photos showing the exact holes and hazards mentioned.

Extremely Unprofessional Instructor - Unsafe for Kids…read more I enrolled my son in his very first badminton class here, hoping it would be a positive introduction to the sport. Unfortunately, the experience was the exact opposite. The instructor was shockingly rude from the start, and at one point even kicked my son's leg while "correcting" his posture. This is completely unacceptable behavior toward any student, let alone a beginner attending his first class. No child should ever be subjected to physical aggression or humiliation in a learning environment. My son left the class upset and is now unwilling to return, which tells you everything about how damaging the interaction was. As a parent, I'm deeply disappointed and concerned that this kind of conduct is allowed to happen under their program. I strongly urge management to address this issue immediately and ensure instructors are trained to work with children respectfully and safely. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

The classes feel like studio classes (like barre or spin, etc.) that you'd be paying almost $200/month for without any amenities or regular gym equipment. I've been to other gyms in the past that had a lot of hm, lets just call it people watching and social hour. Folks here are definitely here to workout, do their own thing and friendly. Definitely a no judgement zone. I also had some hesitations based on other reviews about not being able to freeze or cancel membership within the first year especially if you have an injury and what not but decided to go for it anyway despite that, more on that later. Some other other gyms didn't seem to be any better based on those reviews so it probably would've been similar issues elsewhere anyway. When you initial sign up, they give you some comp sessions with a trainer (to obviously sell you personal training) but it's something I wanted to try anyway. I thought, why not, let's give it a go for a few months since I thought it would be good to get an extra boost and back into a routine. Well, a few months had passed and then I had some travel plans so I was away from the gym but then came back from my travels with a severe knee injury where I could barely walk. It sucked but I showed up anyway. Not because I couldn't cancel my membership due to the contract terms but because I needed movement for rehab. I was initially hesitant about returning to training because I felt like I wouldn't be training at 100%. And let's be real, the training sessions aren't cheap. After some discussion with physical therapist for a rehab plan, I decided to return to training with Summer and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. Summer programed exercises for me to supplement my PT. She has been really awesome to work with, because my program needed a lot of re-working along the way to adapt to my rehab progress. She's also open to feedback and really great with listening to my input on things that I want to work on. While I am still ways away from being 100% recovered from my knee injury, I already feel like it's night and day compared to just a few months ago. So why only 4 stars? Well, only taking one off is quite generous despite some issues with their app, specifically for training and the so-so amenities in the locker room. The app isn't the best and there were some miscommunications with it that led to a lot of frustration but the training manager Matt was really nice and made it right. The other reason for taking off the star was the amenities which they finally changed to something that smells way better. The previous products didn't smell good and it seemed like the shampoo, body wash, and face cleanser seemed like it was all the same soap in the shower. Didn't feel like there is anything different between the stuff in the bottles. It wouldn't even upset me that there was just one multipurpose wash but the same soap in the different bottles is just confusing for me. Like what's the point? Anyway, good riddance with the old stuff. I haven't tried the new stuff yet aside from the lotion that smells heavenly. I haven't been to the other locations to compare but this one is sufficient for my needs.

Actually life changing…read more I've waited to review this gym, and I can confidently say that after a year of being a member - it is worth every penny!! With Equinox you truly get what you pay for - cleanliness, supportive and attentive staff, great atmosphere, quality equipment and machines, and incredible amenities. As someone who had a membership at both Planet Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness, there is nothing like Equinox. Regardless of the time of day, or day of the week - their version of "busy" or "peak times" is nothing in comparison to other gyms. I've always been able to find a spot to workout (squat rack, free weights, etc) and have hardly ever had to wait for a machine. In the few times I have had to wait, it was super short or Ive been able to work into a set with another person. It's also incredibly clean with wonderful amenities. My ideal Saturday consists of getting to Equinox - completing a workout, steam room session (15-20 mins), shower and massage. Also, I definitely want to shoutout the trainer I worked with, Jordan! I saw results in 3 months of working with him than I have in over a year of training with someone else. There is also a full spa!! Shoutout to Hailey and Amelia!! I've had them both as massage therapists - and they were both AMAZING!!! Overall, is it pricey? Yes, but all of the benefits are more than worth it!!! So happy to have found this incredible gym!!!!

The team has been passed from coach to coach as they leave the company or move on. They have unskilled parents/aunts/students coach and this is unacceptable for the cost of the program and sales pitch. Core Volleyball is just a money grab. We were at other private elite clubs for many years and they have a much better product for less. I have never written their coaches in 10 years of training with any level of complaint. Given the many other negative Yelp reviews and discussions with other parents our experience is not unique. The coaching is poor quality and you will not get the value. Core Volleyball does not deliver what they promise. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Giving life to brick and mortar malls, Activate Dublin benefits from a huge parking lot fit for the shared space among many shops and eateries. While its actual footprint isn't too big, it does sure attract a lot of folks here, especially during the weekends. The crowds can be a huge turn off, not only because of the congestion, but also because they directly impact your opportunity to enjoy your time here. Time is a key factor at Activate. For those unfamiliar, you pay based on the amount of time you play to be inside the play area, all tracked with an electronic wristband used to scan into games. Once you start a game, your timer runs whether you're actively in a game or not (better hope you don't need the restroom or need any breaks). Therefore, with peak times, you'll likely be spending half of your time waiting for the next game. Granted, the waits aren't too long but it's time (and money) spent nevertheless. Each of the games have similar mechanics utilizing lights, switches, and objects to score points (think mini games within a party game). There were about 10-12 different games and at the site, you can walk into the game area to view the game previews to get a glimpse of the objectives and tutorials, that is if you're over 6 years of age and not accompanied by someone under 6 years of age. That's right, even if you're holding your kid who is nearly 6 years old and simply perusing the screens from afar, you are not allowed in the area for liability concerns; the manager was extremely strict about that (although the other staff members were more lenient and allowed us in to peek at what all the hype was about while our older kid played among their friends). For those who do plan to spend time here, they do have lockers for your belongings. Please also keep in mind waters are not allowed in the hallway; the manager was also very strict about this. The payment options are truly limited by the time you plan to spend. There is no unlimited play per hour option as you may have expected for something like this (like Round1). The experience with staff here was mixed. Most of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the games and media available to learn about them but the manager didn't leave a good impression on us and truly sucked the fun out of the whole experience, despite us only being there as chaperones and observers. Overall, Activate Dublin absolutely activated something in me that wasn't entirely fun, although the folks who did end up playing seemed to have a decent, albeit repetitive time. If gaming is a passion and getting active with company while doing so excites you, consider checking Activate Dublin out, however be wary that the business side of the experience may not align with your motivations. Bringing arcades back is an awesome idea but I think Activate Dublin has a bit more initiatives they'd want to consider activating to bolster customer satisfaction and engagement.

In that email, they had old covid protocols from 2020. They really need to update their "welcome" information for parents. - The class is for ages 5-12 and they keep the kids together. The problem with this is that 5 year olds do not have the attention span or understanding as the older kids. To have them all together and essentially "punish" the older kids to hold a "stretch" position until the younger kids are able to catch up is not right. They need to split kids up by age groups and create a more positive learning experience. - Coach Sam is not someone who exhibits a positive cheer attitude. Both my child and my friend's child came back home talking about how mean she was. These camps are intended to be fun, she did not make it fun or treat the kids with respect. In the time when I was there, I also observed her lack of kindness. - Sign in and sign out process is a joke, they do not even check when you pick up your children. This is not safe, they should check when each child is picked up by an appropriate guardian especially if it's a camp setup like this. - Several children were new to cheer/tumlbing and needed help with the basics such as how to do a cartwheel, the "teachers" did not provide any help. They just told the kids to keep trying and to not interrupt them when they are working with other kids. How is a child supposed get help? The overall lack of actual teaching was really disappointing.
