Pretty good pizza - thumbs up! Next up on my list of Hudson eating adventures is EJ's Pizzeria. Once I finally found them (in an industrial area near Fleet Farm), I ordered a ton of food. My meat lover's pizza was very good. It seems to match up with their claim to fame: "Home of the heavy toppings". My hot Italian sub was pretty darn good too. It has the same sauce as the pizzas - yum! My chocolate muffin with cream cheese frosting and caramel drizzle was awesome. I have mixed feelings about the pepperoni fries. There are no potatoes involved whatsoever. Basically, the "fries" are a thin crust pizza with mozzarella & pepperoni...sliced into thin strips. There is no pizza sauce. That comes as a side if you want to dip. Fries? I don't think so. Really, just a pizza. I have to knock them a star for not having the guts and the consideration to open the dining room for limited indoor seating. I know this is their right. But I also have the right to bitch about it. Green Mill Pizza (only one block away) has indoor seating. So does 95% of the restaurants in Hudson. What's the problem with EJ's? I'd go back again. But only when the dining room is back open. -Daddy Maxx Retro

Smaller version of EJs house special with a birthday message

I went to EJs for my birthday along with my wife and my in-laws. I have had EJs multiple times and was craving it and my in laws had not tried it yet so it was the perfect opportunity. We got there right as they opened and the staff were very welcoming and kind as they always are. We ordered 3 pizza and some cheese bread and it all came out at fairly decent time , especially since they are short staffed. When they brought out our food they said one of the pizza got stuck and folded a bit and they said they will give us a small take home pizza , which was very kind since the pizzas looked just fine. When the small pizza arrived I took a look at it and noticed a happy birthday message wrote on the inside of the box. I am already craving more EJs pizza but it's always worth the wait.

Casual place with delicious pizza tried the thin crust EJs special. Thin crispy crust and loaded with toppings. Definitely a must try.

The 4 stars instead of 5 is because typically I expect Carbones to be a bit more generous with their pizza topping. It tasted great but for a 5 topping pizza it was very very thin. Not much there at all. Hoping the cook was just having an off day

It was made terribly--there were huge stacks of pepperoni piled on top of each other in the very center, while most of the sandwich had almost nothing in it. Large sections were just bread and crust with barely any toppings. It felt like no care was put into making it. What's even worse is that this isn't the first time. Several recent orders have tasted like they were made earlier, left sitting out, and then reheated before being served. The food just doesn't taste fresh anymore. I keep giving this place another chance because it used to be one of my go-to spots, but I'm done wasting my money. The quality is inconsistent, the food is disappointing, and I honestly don't see the point in paying premium prices and tipping for service when the product is this poor. Unfortunately, this was my last order.

When we arrived we were seated quickly at a nice table in a themed Italian space. We had the Calamari, an the Escargot. And finished with a piece of their homemade Tiramisu. All were very tasty: Calamari was a crispy, well flavored rings (darn I like the little squid) with a good sauce. The Escargot were plump and the garlic butter they came with was delicious, used the bread (very nice Baguette) to sop it up an hold an Escargot! A finished with the Tiramisu which was everything a good homemade desert should be ! The only suggestion would be to up the presentation on the plate of both of the dish's; the calamari and the escargot But had nothing to do with taste, which was excellent.

The waiter and bus staff were great at getting our requests and being prompt with everything. The food was great & good. All of the food was served fresh and hot as it should be. They have a great house Chianti that is reasonably priced by the bottle. The filet special was out of this world awesome. Cooked perfectly medium rare, the cut was top shelf and flavor was incredible. The whole dish was excellent with the mushroom red wine reduction on top providing that blast of flavors that complemented a filet. I may get this every time if they continue to have it on the menu. The fettuccine alfredo was good. The pasta was home-made and cooked perfectly. The sauce was a bit bland and was missing something. Maybe some more parmesan, maybe just salt, not sure but while it was good, it lacked the big creamy flavor that alfredo should have. Chicken was very good, grilled and tender. So this one was "Good" The seafood special was another "Good" one. The shirimp was done perfectly but the rest of the seafood was maybe just a touch overcooked. The sauce was a cream sauce but like the alfredo it lacked just a bit of flavor that would have made it a superb meal. Many guests will love that we have a very good Italian place again in North Hudson as it's part of the heritage of the community. We will go back for sure!! CM
