Probably my best burger I have had eating out in over a year. NUMMERS!! Service deserves 4.5 as well. Good stuff again. One request! One not bad thing! We came here in a large group of 10. Reservations were made prior and there was only 2-3 other tables during our time here. I'll start with the positives - the ambiance is excellent and they have a great patio. Our server Simone was friendly and witty and really made our table feel welcomed. What could be better was the quality of some of the food in addition to the amount of time we waited for our food to arrive. After our orders were placed, it took about an hour to receive our food, and the table definitely didn't eat together. Even the appetizers took about 40 minutes to arrive at the table. I thought for what you get, it was insanely pricey. I have never paid close to $20 for a wing appetizer to get an odd number of 5 wings. That's insane. My friend and I planned on splitting that and the patty melt. We are huge patty melt lovers, but this one was bland and nothing good to report. The table did enjoy the shrimp dish. I will admit the bruschetta was darn good, but I wish there was more positives to report with the food. We all stated that we wouldn't pick this place again, but if someone wanted to eat here and suggested it, we would come back, but we would all want to try different things (minus the bruschetta and shrimp dish). read more

After deciding to take a drive over to Hudson for dinner, we were debating what we wanted to eat, and hubs said "wasn't there a restaurant in the old post office?" We hadn't been in since it changed to Post-American, so we decided to give it a try. The night we stopped in was "date night", a pre-fixe menu, where you choose 4 (!) drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and a dessert. It was a lot of food, but thankfully, enough to take home to have leftovers tje next day. We each got a salad, then split the bruschetta for the appetizers. I had a stuffed chicken, and we got a tiramisu. I brought most of the chicken and tiramisu home, which was still great the next day. Service was excellent and I will definitely come back to try some other stuff on the menu! read more

I can't rave about this place enough! I've been here multiple times and have always been pleased. Family friendly, great for a stop with friends, great cocktails and wine/beer selection and awesome decor and patio. Parking is street but usually not a problem finding a spot. Came here around 3pm on Saturday following my niece's dance recital. Cool old post office repurposed to a restaurant in downtown Hudson, WI. There's lots of paid street parking offered or a small lot available. Restaurant was not busy, maybe our table and another two smaller tables. Our server Simone was nice, but attentiveness was missed in my opinion. After taking our lunch order, it's like no staff was seen for a very long time. It was very odd and food took SO long like unusually long. My friend and I split the bruschetta, dry rub wings, and patty melt with fries. Bruschetta and wings came out first. I'd say the wings quantity and quality were meh. $18 for 5 weeks. Out of both appetizers, I'd recommend the bruschetta. Patty melt missed the mark for me. I had 2 bites and enough of that. I thought it was pretty flavorless. The others in our party got steak, pasta, lasagna, and walleye which they all enjoyed. Personally, I feel like Post missed the mark on the regular bar food and does better on the specialty items. Would I come back? Maybe I'd think about it when I'm in the area, but wouldn't seek it out. read more

This is an old post office, very cold. At 8:45 am we were the second people in the restaurant on a Saturday. FYI this place is chilly in the morning! Boyfriend had coffee and I ordered Cappuccino with carmel flavoring. We ordered the breakfast flatbread, a side of French toast, and the post breakfast. I'm glad I got a side of French toast. It was delicious but three pieces for me would have been overwhelming. The breakfast flatbread was delicious! With a nice crust! Boyfriend loves his breakfast and eat it all up. He was very happy with this place and said it rates high in his list for breakfast spots! Plus! It's in the cute little town of Hudson which has a bunch of little shops around!! Stopped here for lunch on a day trip this week, just 1/2 block off the main street in Hudson. Our server, Simone, was so friendly and took great care of us. The atmosphere is cute with super high ceilings and a bar, tables and booths. I had a glass of red Zinfandel for $10 and it was a great wine and a generous poor. The best thing we ordered hands down was the tomato bisque with cornbread croutons. I'm still dreaming about this soup. It was creamy with a deep, rich flavor, and the two large cornbread croutons were seasoned and hearty and made this cup of soup feel like something truly special. My daughter had the salmon which was a large portion and a beautiful piece of fish prepared perfectly. Our least favorite menu item was the cheese curds. The breading was crunchy, but quite heavy and it actually felt like there was more breading than cheese so I would try a different appetizer next time. And I hope there is a next time - this is a cute restaurant in a cute town! Don't miss the local chocolate/ice cream shop across the street, too. read more

Everything about this place was great except the food. Loved the theme (restaurant in an old post office) and our waitress was great. Just didn't love the food. Almost everything was a bit bland. My wife had the pesto ravioli and I had the seafood pasta and we had to season both to get some added flavor. Even the Chicken and Wild Rice soup was just missing something. I will let you know that the soup serving size is enormous! Truly enough for a meal in itself. Maybe get the cup if you are adding soup to your meal! read more

They always have god options and fresh salads which I love. We do work happy hours here sometimes too. Dinner options are good. Atmosphere is nice with lower light and generous space between seating. Service has always been good or great. No complaints on drink and beer options either. read more

Housed in the old U.S. Post Office in quaint Hudson Wisconsin, this locally owned restaurant has a nice menu with American food and bar favorites. Large shaded patio and a large interior dining room. I ordered the spinach salad and added shrimp & was pleasantly surprised to see it absolutely covered in steamed shrimp. I was asked if I wanted the shrimp grilled (yes), but it was served steamed and cold instead, but it was still very flavorful. I was happy. I honestly don't recall what everyone else ordered because I was focused on my salad. LOL! It comes with bleu cheese but I asked for feta instead. Delish! read more

Breakfast for Father's Day. Very nice room. Old building, wood floors, a couple of cozy private rooms with one table in them. Nice menu choices. Good Bloody Mary. My wife and daughter had mimosas and loved them. I had the avocado toast and enjoyed it. The biscuits and sausage gravy were very good. Homemade biscuits were very good. We were looking for a delicious dinner, and we found it at Post! The Post is a former United States Post Office transformed into a roomy, fun dining space. It is located about a block east of the main Hudson Street. The awesome interior had a great roomy vibe. Our server, Charley, was excellent, and our booth was secluded with accompanying tulips and dark wood. We thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers; a bowl of chicken with wild rice was tasty, and our Mediterranean salad was outstanding. The main course of Grilled Chicken with parmesan bread crumbs and lemon garlic sauce was charbroiled perfectly, and the baked potato was a terrific complement to the meal. Excellent food. I love outdoor seating so josh took me to try this spot. Food price was reasonable, food taste was definitely a "must come back" and eat again spot. Drinks! Its so hard to fond a place that can give you both great food and adult drinks. We hit the jackpot with this place. We absolutely loved it! Headed to downtown Hudson for a girls' night out with friends. We had a reservation for 6:30 for the patio. I showed up at 6:20 and they were able to seat me right away. Earlier in the day it had rained so the table was covered in water. The kid showing me to the table just put the menus in the puddles on the table. I was like, "Um, you wanna wipe that down for us?" He was like, "Oh yeah, right!" Already off to a rocky start, but the weather was gorgeous so I didn't think too much of it. My girlfriends all arrived by 6:30 and we waited and waited and waited. At some point somebody dropped off a tray of waters for us, but left it on the empty table NEXT to us. We're like, are those our water? WTF? We ended up waiting for 25 minutes before our server actually gave us our waters and took our drink order. And then we wait and wait and wait. Our server never came back to check in on us or take a food order. Another 25 minutes go by and a table next to us that sat down significantly after us get's their drinks and some apps. We flag down the hostess who just happens to be walking by and ask if our drinks have even been put in because if not, we just want to leave. She says she's going to check on it. Another 15 minutes goes by, our server still has not checked in on us. He finally shows up with half of our drinks, but says that the bar is really backed up and he'll have to go back for two of our martinis. We wait another 10 minutes and finally one of my friends is like, I'm just going to go pick up our drinks at the bar. I will say, the bartender made a good dirty Hendricks with extra olives. My poor friend's blue cheese stuffed olives were rancid and her martini was disgusting. So, we essentially waited an hour and a half for our server to come to our table 3 times. Once to take our drink order, once to deliver our drinks, and once to bring the bills. I would try Post again, because the reviews seem great, but this was a terrible first experience. read more

Quick lunch on Labor Day. What a great choice! Lunch specials were exceptional value and food was excellent. I always forget to take pictures, but as you can see from my plate and soup bowl, it was beyond good. I had the ham and cheese special with tomato bisque and tomato bisque was by far the best I've ever had. My wife enjoyed a salad and a grilled cheese sandwich. Both were nine dollars on the lunch special. We were thinking beer but lunch special. Also includes half price wine. A big thank you to Becky the bartender for offering a sample of the wild rice soup. Years back this was called The Postmark Grill and it had an expansion menu and it was great, was one of our favorites in Hudson. Then they changed hands and their name to just The Post. But at the same time the menu dropped down to about a third of what it had been, dropping a few of our favorite dishes. They did add a lunch menu that featured soup/sandwich deals that ran until 3:00, so we ended up making our go to for lunch. Then about six months ago we showed up at 2:30 expecting to order lunch and were told that lunch was rolled back to end at 2:00. Today we showed up at 1:30 only to be told that they did away with the lunch menu altogether. Main menu doesn't really work for lunches, so I guess we'll have to find another restaurant for lunch. I guess nothing lasts forever, sure do miss the original Postmark Grill. read more

When in Hudson WI!! We love The Post! This restaurant is actually the old post office. They have kept the building pretty much the same, except for some changes due to it being a restaurant. It's on a quiet street with a candy store right next door!! We started with some cheese curds and the blackberry chili jam that comes with it stole the show!! My wife and I had the Outlaw burger and the Post fried chicken sandwich. The burger has tons of flavor and the chicken sandwich was juicy and had a crispy outside. My son had Mac and cheese and said it was really good! Parking can be tricky in Hudson but there is a lot of east on street parking next to the restaurant. Downtown Hudson is so nice, can't wait to come back in the summer! read more

As usual, service was great. Tried the Rib Eye and the cut was perfect but a little tough. Grilled to perfection, juicy and to taste. The French Fries are back. Not like the last time that it was pale, very pale. These ones were the good old fries. The Chocolate Tart, fantastic. We went to celebrate my parents 68th wedding anniversary and had an absolutely wonderful dinner! Our server was fantastic (unfortunately I do not remember his name) and attentive. The cocktails were excellent. The ribeye steaks were seasoned and cooked to perfection, very tender and had great flavor - the best restaurant steak we each could recall having in a very long time. The shrimp and scallop pasta was also very good and would highly recommend. The strawberry cheesecake for dessert was outstanding. The ambiance was very comfortable and the small table light was greatly appreciated in reading the menu for our aging eyes lol. I have given this restaurant multiple chances. I have only had one good meal here in all of those times. That was over a year ago. The patio is nice; It smells extremely weird/gross inside. The service was nothing to be impressed with, besides the fact that our server tried one of our chips to make sure we were not lying about them being stale, gave us a chuckle. We couldn't wait to dive in on the bruschetta which was to die for. Some of my favorite bruschetta in a long time. I love that they have half portions on the menu for salads and pastas. The tomato bisque soup was amazing and the cornbread croutons sink to the bottom so be sure to scrape your spoon along the bottom for those delicious pieces. The tortellini was nothing impressive, lacked flavor for me. We had some bloody Mary's which were also DELICIOUS and only $6 for a full pint bloody and a beer chaser is a great deal. We have been here on a couple occasions for lunch with friends. The wait staff are attentive and incredible. We were visiting with friends we had not seen in years and wanted to spend a little more time than usual to "catch up". The staff was very patient and accommodating. Usually I order off the lunch menu that has a variety of items that all were or appeared to be delectable. This time I was in the mood for a burger from their main menu and was not disappointed. I've been here numerous times without a complaint. If I was going to complain about anything it would be how the first server we had wasn't very attentive at all. However my visits after that were all perfect, the food is always wonderful, and the manager seems to really cares about the place because we met her when she was out caring for the many flowers they have out on their patio. The inside is great, I love the decor and the outside is wonderful as well. They have street parking which you have to pay for and they also have a nice lot in the back if you don't want to pay for parking. read more

I started with a happy hour Spotted Cow tap beer, a cup of delicious tomato bisque soup, and some bread w/garlic butter. Those corn bread croutons were amazing. My entree was grilled salmon, garlic mashed, and veggies. The salmon was a little undercooked for my style but the server was quick to ask the kitchen for a correction and they took care of it right away to my satisfaction. Great service!
