I called Ekim 's office and spoke to Ava, she was extremely professional and helpful. She sent out a foreman to my property to assess the situation. A few days later, I called back and Ava informed me that Ekim will repair the damage & replace my gutters without further costs. After the weekend, workers showed up and replaced my gutters. Communication is bad. I have sent a few emails that don't get a response until I call and ask for one. My signed proposal was ignored because it was not forwarded from the manager to the right person, although the manager said he'd take good care of me, those were words. My neighbors are getting work done but my house, not so much ,even though I too got a notice that work would be done and it wasn't. I've been told several times that Mike would contact me about painting an atrium. Still waiting. If it weren't for my HOA I would go with another company. I appreciate timely communication and a priority on customer service. I believe this company is too big for that. read more

Ekim contracted with our HOA. The workers were efficient, respectful of property, neat and courteous. No complaints about the workers. However, would give minus -1 star review for the paint supervisor/foreman Mark for his unprofessional reaction and comments when some flaws were pointed out and he stormed off in a huff. Behaved like a schoolyard bully. Had a much better experience with the construction manager/supervisor. Not only are their quotes extremely detailed but the owner, Kim, always comes out to do multiple comprehensive site walks with me through large communities. EKim Painting was initially recommended by a family friend who couldn't speak highly enough of the work they had done at their home. As someone who usually does their own research before choosing a company, I did notice that some of the reviews were mixed. However, after going through the entire process and having the work completed, my experience was the complete opposite of some of what I had read. Working in the trades, especially in sweltering July heat is no easy task. EKim was consistently professional, and their attention to detail was outstanding. From the initial estimate to the high-quality work completed inside my home, I truly couldn't have asked for a better team. My 4/5-star rating was not due to the quality of the work, but rather a slight misunderstanding between what was initially quoted and what was ultimately delivered. In my opinion, completing the small portion of work discussed would have demonstrated that EKim went the extra mile to get the 5 Star Rating. Our HOA hired EKIM. The project isn't even finished and already the quality of their work can be seen. See the attached video. The trim paint is already coming off, and can be scratched off with a fingernail. This company was selected by my HOA to perform the exterior painting of the complex. I received a letter from them prior to the painting work being performed regarding mandatory repairs. The list totaled almost $3k. After receiving the notice, I had my own State Licensed Contractor perform another inspection using the original notice as a reference. After the inspection, it was determined that many of the costly repairs provided on the list were unnecessary. I then contacted the company and asked for clarification. I spoke with one of the owners and explained my Contractors findings and the discrepancies. I also wanted clarification on who actually performed the original inspection and if they were a Licensed Contractor. I was informed that it was performed by there "Construction Division" without any other clarification. I was given the option by my HOA to have my own Contractor perform the necessary repairs at my cost. The repairs were then completed for less than half of the cost quoted. I live in Texas and I have a property that I rent out in San Jose that EKIM's painted the past 3-4 months. My tenant who is rarely home reached out to me and gave me their number to call to schedule a door appointment . The person I spoke to on the phone was very understanding of the situation and provided me with a list of dates and times to accommodate my tenants schedule. We ultimately got our door painted by two gentlemen named Miles and Franco. They were very kind on the phone and the house (and front door) look excellent . The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the property manager for our association is absolutely TERRIBLE . His name is Craig, do NOT call him for issues, he is lazy and does nothing for the tenants out at copperwood and is rude. Having had a flawless experience with EKIM PAINTING painting on our last painting project, we hired them again. This time we had them paint both phases of our condo complex (370 units) and the clubhouse, pools, garages ect also. We had such a great experience with them last time, we chose to hire their construction side to replace all the wood wrought also. They did not disappoint! They not only cleaned up after themselves each day, they also pointed out all the roofing nails and debris left by our roofing vender in our landscaping and cleaned it up as well. All cars and landscaping were covered during painting. The 10 acre project was left in immaculate condition. As President of the Board If there are complaints, I am sure to hear about them. This is the second time, I heard ZERO complaints. The crew is so polite, helpful and highly skilled. Can't believe anyone would have complaints! This company needs some serious improvements, such as: 1. Really poor communication. Wouldn't tell us what days they were painting our unit, so I literally was all packed up to leave my unit with my children, only to open the front door and find it completely covered in plastic with us unable to exit. Ideally they would have let us know in advance that they were painting that day, but at minimum can't you knock on the door and alert us right before you start? 2. They would start really early, around 7am, which isn't ideal but I understand that sometimes these projects need to start early. My main complaint is I don't know why it's necessary to yell to one another and be so incredibly loud when it's that early in the morning...there was no respect for the residents in making any attempt to keep their noise levels down. 3. I had to call the front office with questions, and they were unhelpful and rude. Not much else to say there except to work on how you treat customers. 4. The biggest improvement this company needs to make is safety. I was truly shocked to see the complete disregard for worker safety while painting these tall, 2-story buildings. The way they worked on the ladders, navigated from the ladders to 2nd floor balconies, set up their worksite, etc. is a serious or even fatal worker accident waiting to happen. If anything, I hope they reassess how their workers perform on the job before someone gets hurt. read more

THese people are under contract with my HOA to do painting. They also did a pre-painting run-thru to see whether there was any termite damage, etc, that needed to be taken care of before painting. They noticed that my trellis was damaged by termite (it was). BUT then they gave me an estimate that was totally bogus - using wood that wasa the wrong dimension and replacing elements that should not have to be replaced just to come up with a dollar figure that they thought I would agree to because I was pressed for time. It was essentially just under $1000 to replace a bad 2x6x16' piece of wood and possibly the 1x1's on top (which they didn't even mention although there WAS some mention of 2x12's (which I do not have)). opportunistic. read more

Completely agree with recent review by Gina S. Very surprised by the many low ratings. These guys recently completed painting the exterior of our condo community and did a stellar job. As Gina noted, they were courteous, always timely and very professional through the entire process. They moved our patio furniture to access the exterior walls, covered it well so there were no paint flecks and then replaced the furniture exactly as it had been originally. There was some overgrowth of bushes along one of the exterior block walls and when I trimmed this back I could see it needed to be repainted. They came back the next day and finished the work beautifully. Both my wife and I were impressed with the courtesy, attentiveness and friendliness of not only the supervisors but the entire crew. What a mess. Unbelievable. So many things went wrong with them. 1. Absolutely careless with personal property. When moving our things in the backyard to accommodate the workspace, they damaged some of our plants. 2. Looks like they take around a month now to paint the area. There is quite a few employees. It doesn't take a whole month to do the job. Theres a few reasons for this. (1) They redo tasks over and over. My house was power-washed at least 3 times. (2) They waste a lot of time. 3. They occupy parking spots with storage units and portable bathrooms. They obstruct the road with junk. 4. Inexperienced, and rude. The job was not well done. read more

They did a horrible job. They've been extremely dishonest and rude. When they came to work on my place they broke my 2 planters that were worth 2,000 each. I confronted this company about it many times and for several months but nothing has changed up until I recently decided to get attorney involved but that lead to them completely shifting their storylines and now asking me for money I don't owe. They've been paid already by my HOA and so instead of resolving this issue they just want to lie about it. This situation is hysterical and barbarous at this point. read more
