Peerless called me for an appointment for an estimate to remove 80+ feet of old wooden fence that was rotting, plus about 14 feet or so of chain link. Due to city regulations, we can no longer put fencing between homes unless there is 8 feet between them. So I was also going to install about 43 feet of new chain link and gates. I got their estimate and it was a good deal, also because I could use the Home Depot credit card, but like most homeowners, I wanted to get a couple more estimates and advised the sales person when he followed up. I got 2 more estimates. I am employed but currently on medical leave from my job for 16 months at the time and receive a pension disability income and my mom lives with me and she is on SS and is 90 years old. I needed to take down the old fence since it was rotten, swaying and dangerous and neighbor complained. But it took us a while to move forward due to these fixed incomes. We decided we'd go through Peerless, but the tornado came through and knock the gate at the gangway off the hinges and knocked down about 30% of the fence, breaking one post off at the ground. Due to our circumstances, a church charity group came and took down old fencing and hauled it away for a small donation. On July 6 I emailed the sales rep explaining this and asked if they'd still be interested in the job please send a new quote for the 43 ft of fencing and 2 gates. He stated he would be back in town the next day and get back to me. I never heard from him again. I called and the rep told me he'd send the message along to Ed the sales rep. I never heard anything again. So I sent a text to someone who had originally scheduled my appointment and she said she'd send Ed a message. She got back to me stating that he knew and would be in touch. Again nothing. I sent her another message to her and according to her text she attempted contact and he did not respond and she stated that she didn't know why he was not responding. She stated that she would send the info to another representative and again, nothing. I thought their business was fence installation. But I guess since the bill will drop from about $3100 down to whatever it costs to install 43 ft of fence and 2 gates...they are not interested - if it's commission based, I see why Ed is not interested. This is a fence installation company and I think how I've been treated is rotten and dirty. I have everything saved and will absolutely go to Home Depot to let them know. I don't understand them. What sucks is when Ed first came out to my house, he literally spent 10 minutes explaining to me why Peerless is a dependable company and that is why Home Depot keeps working with them. I see he was simply trying to convince himself of that because if he does others the way he did me, I don't know how Home Depot keeps them around. For everyone thinking there's 2 sides to each story - there is no story here. I never got a chance to do business with these people. But it's obvious since the new estimate did not include all of that labor to tear down the old fence, the company is not interested. That's clear.

Ramiro spent a fair amount of time with us to ensure full understanding of what the project would entail. Within a few days, Ramiro provided a fair estimate. Based on the reviews we read about his team's work and on our initial experience with Ramiro, we hired Skyline Metal Fabrication. Within a reasonable time frame (about 8 weeks in our case), Ramiro and the Skyline Metal Fabrication team was on site to start work. We found the entire crew to be friendly, considerate, conscientious, expedient, professional and hard-working. The team always accommodated our need to let our dog in the back yard to do her business without a hitch. They arrived on time and stayed until they completed what they needed to accomplish each day. They were also careful to clean up at the end of each day. Within five working days, our steel/wood privacy fence was complete.
