When heading to Long Beach we make an effort to stop here and pick up a bag of oysters. Some of the best we have had in the US

Best oysters in the state! Also the best customer service. Just got some extra smalls and enjoying some oyster shooters as we speak.

They had a dozen oysters for $5.50! I don't know if that price can be beat. 5 dozen for $25. They also had oysters already shelled in plastic tubs and ready to go and I think a quart was $25. They sell corn meal fry mix too! So you can fry your own. I wasn't sure how to make them yet so I passed (this time). They also sold Smoked Oysters which I bought but they actually came from Ekone Oysters down the road. I don't have any point of reference to compare them to but I thought they were good. They might only be a 3 star place but I'm giving them 4 because I have never bought a dozen oysters for $5.50. We BBQ'd the oysters and a few of them didn't open. Not sure if that is normal or if our BBQ wasn't hot enough. Or maybe that's why they are $5.50. But next time I will buy the ones already shelled.

This place is a real gem, they sell seafood to all the people that live in this lovely little seaside (bay side) village, so the prices are super-low, not tourist prices. I bring my grandson (and others) on these trips, and the treatment we received was stellar, and that goes a long ways for me as I am trying to instill the same values in him that I observed from the wonderful, caring lady that waited on us. On each of our outings I try to drive home at least one message, and this was it: Treat others as we were treated at Seasonal Seafoods in Bay Center. Sure, they have the best prices in Southwest Washington, and we will drive the couple miles off the highway to buy everything we can. And we rearrange our schedule to get there when they are open. While the world seems so troubled, we can escape for a few days to Willapa Bay, buy entirely too much stuff from Seasonal Seafoods, and share it with our friends. This is a high quality merchant that deserves our support, buy from them often, and buy enough to give to your friends. Buy Local, and support hard working farmers and economies in these rural areas. And when you come here, you will have a story to tell, and that's what makes you interesting, your stories. And please write a review for them, but remember, it is not about how Starbucks made a smiley face in your espresso and sold you a $30 coffee cup, but rather how these people work hard every day to bring us the highest quality food and truly care about what they do, and their customers as well. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

This place is now called Skylar's and under new management…read more We went in, apparently on their first "official" day. There is lots of promise in this new fledgling restaurant. With some improvements, I hope to be able to give a 5 star rating. First the good: the building is nicely finished and clean! If I remember correctly, the original was a bit divey and dumpy. This was clean, shiny and bright! Small, the capacity is (I think the sign said) 65 people. So it's not big, but it's laid out nice, and clean! We were greeted quickly by a kind waiter who informed us it was his first day. He did good for a first day. The menu is small, & heavy on the oysters, which isn't surprising for the area. Unfortunately, I am not an oyster fan. But, there were plenty of other things to order. Luckily, we didn't feel like eating fish and chips, because they had run out. So I am assuming their fish and chips must be good for that to have happened. I went with the three tacos, having to choose three shrimp tacos cause they were out of fish as stated above and the other choice were oysters. lol! No problem. I like shrimp. My husband got the shrimp po'boy and fries. Here's where some corrective criticism comes in. The wait time for food was far too long. We sat for about little over 30 minutes before we got our food. Granted, they were apologetic and knew it was too long. I'm not sure what the problem was, but they did make good on it by taking 15% off our bill. They didn't need to do that, but we did appreciate it. I get it....they're new and figuring it out. I have no doubt whatever the issue was, it'll be improved upon. We appreciated the fact that the waiter and the other gal working (I am assuming the owner?) kept checking in and apologizing. As far as the food: we ordered a bowl of chips and salsa to start. Nothing outstanding about them, except we were so hungry we snarfed them down pronto. The salsa tasted like it was out of a jar, not bad but not fresh homemade. (If I'm wrong I do apologize.) My husband said the shrimp po'boy was tasty. He just wished it was a bit bigger. It came on a smallish roll, cut in half with some steak fries. It did look like a small portion for a big fellow, and he left feeling a bit hungry. My tacos were ok. They came with fried, crispy shrimp layered with some slaw in corn tortillas. They were tasty, but, the slaw was overpowering the taste of the shrimp. I wished it had been the other way around. The slaw was very sweet. Not bad, but I felt like it was more a sweet slaw taco instead of a shrimp taco. This review isn't going to stop us from going again. I'd like to try their fish and chips and their burger. And we really want this little place to be successful cause it's been far too long without any restaurants in our tiny little communities. (Nemah and Bay Center) So, I hope to be able to change this star rating to a 5 very soon!

We walked in and about 5 people were all hanging out at the bar, including employees. You could tell they were all locals and they all turned and watched us. Oh their clam chowder was so delicious and hearty for $5 a bowl it was a bargain. I also ordered fried fish and oysters for $14. It came with 2 pieces of fish and 2 huge fried oysters and fries. Both fish and oysters were delicious. Service was quick and friendly.

Estrella's Cheese can be found at Beecher's Handmade Cheese, DeLaurenti, Whole Foods, Madison Market and The Cheese Cellar. My fiance' and I had signed up with a tour group sponsored by The Edgewater Hotel. We met at the Hotel around 8:00am and joined an intimate group of 6 which included a couple visiting Seattle, a father and son duo, the Chef and our Tour Guide. The tour provided transportation and a boxed lunch courtesy of the Chef. The ride down to the Creamery would average around 45 minutes to an hour so Chef supplied a well planned out game which he tested our knowledge on cheese and congratulated the winning team with Max McCalman & David Gibbons book "A Connoisseur's Guide to the Worlds Best Cheese". We didn't win. :( boo. lol Arriving around 9:30am, we were greeted by the entire Estrella Family. Kelli led the tour which took us through their entire operation to how they raise and milk their cows and goats and the cheese cellar where we got a chance to see more than a decade of cheeses. After the tour of the farm, Kelli brought us into the factory. Sanitized, capped and booties on, we were ready to make some cheese! It was so much fun! Having the chance to be a part of the process was amazing! After cleaning up, we headed outside where Kelli surprised us with wine and a table spread of cheeses. It was so fresh! I have never tasted cheese with so much flavor and definition. You could taste the freshness of the farm and the care they take in the process. At the end of the tour, we made sure to bring home a bag of this organic goodness and not to mention, made some great new friends. What a great day! :)
