Linda's Fish and Chips

Wow, we will be stopping here again for fried oysters. Made to order and fresh fries are hand cut by Linds.

Gluten free coating!

Ok yummy..my wife and I ate two orders of the gluten free fish. Yummy fish. Yummy coating. And when you're old and need helpers for your digestive system the yeast flakes help. We ate on one of the umbrellaed tables the scenery was fresh.. Like fish and chips, oysters or clam chowder? Eat here.

Stopped here while on our way up to Ocean Shores for the night. Found this place on Yelp! Decided to look at the menu online and call in our order for pick-up. We ordered the 5 piece wild caught hand-breaded cod fish and chips. The lady said it would take 8 minutes. Everything was ready when we walked up to pick up our order and pay. The fish and chips meal included unseasoned fries and a yummy traditional coleslaw. I didn't care for the unseasoned fries at first, but they kind of grew on me. My husband really liked them. The hand-breaded cod was delicious! The cod was fresh and flaky, and the panko breading was crispy and not greasy at all. The fries weren't greasy either. They're located in a gravel lot. They have numerous picnic tables available for outdoor seating. Overall a great experience from this side of the road food truck. We'll definitely stop again when in the area!

5 piece cod meal w/ the 4oz clam strips add on. Side of chowder.

This is solid fried seafood stand along the side of the road, right off the 101. Nothing spectacular, but it was a good meal. They use a very light breading which is how I like my fish and chips. Almost like a chicken patty breading but lighter and on fried fish, it was different and good. Nice small business operation here.

Must have taken a wrong turn and ended up along the Washington coast in South Bend, not Bend. Well maybe a must stop

Alright YELPERS, be careful on my review here. If you have a heart condition maybe you should steer clear of Linda's but wow, this is real Oregrown beach food, deep fried, and oily awesome. Location: Hard to miss, lots of parking on dirt and gravel. You order from a food truck, and sit on picnic tables on the lawn or chow-down in your car. Bring paper towels. Menu: I could not really figure it out so we just ordered fish and chips and coconut prawns. There are more items so check it out online or order up and bring your angioplasty team. Food: Mostly deep fried, little over cooked on our visit oil too hot, but very good. I'd say the shrimp are the best. Vegan friendly? not so much. Value: well it's not cheap, for two people we spent $30.00 with tip. Linda's makes no excuses for what it is, I will not return only because I try not to eat too much food like this (3 stars for me) but the experience was fun (5 Stars) so a 4 Star. For sure visit Linda's at least once.

This is a really nice location. I was coming from camping so I decided to stop by. The slaw is a little spicy and pretty good. I also love the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. Customer service is really good and they seem like they love what they are doing. There's a cool view of the water as well.

I just assumed it was done to order and got doubly excited for some smoky grilled oysters I was fixin' to have. I got inside and placed my order and waited for them to hit the table. During that time I didn't see any oysters come from the building and go to the grill. When my oysters came to the table, Manuel came from the kitchen where he and a lady had spent most the time while I was there. The oysters looked exactly how the pictures looked and were piping hot. I waved my hand over the oysters towards my nose......no smoke smell. I leaned away, very surprised on why I couldn't smell smokiness. I picked up my fork and bit into an oyster. I tasted no char or smoke of any kind. My oyster had been broiled. So, I had to call Manuel and ask how the oysters were prepare. He told me that the oysters take 18 mins. to prepare and sometimes the wait when there is a lot of people, causes a long wait time. I was the only person in the restaurant, until I got up to pay. He implied that sometimes to avoid a wait, another preparation style is used with the grill in the "back" and this was the technique that was used to make my order. I only observed smoke and wood smell from the front grill that was closest to the front door of the restaurant. Also, he said that oysters are prepared one of three ways....pan fried, fried, or grilled. My oysters weren't prepared any of the three ways he mentioned. All this said to me while it sounded like he was gathering his thoughts and mumbling his words. I must've come on a bad day, Manuel did mention how business had been bad for him.

This place is now called Skylar's and under new management…read more We went in, apparently on their first "official" day. There is lots of promise in this new fledgling restaurant. With some improvements, I hope to be able to give a 5 star rating. First the good: the building is nicely finished and clean! If I remember correctly, the original was a bit divey and dumpy. This was clean, shiny and bright! Small, the capacity is (I think the sign said) 65 people. So it's not big, but it's laid out nice, and clean! We were greeted quickly by a kind waiter who informed us it was his first day. He did good for a first day. The menu is small, & heavy on the oysters, which isn't surprising for the area. Unfortunately, I am not an oyster fan. But, there were plenty of other things to order. Luckily, we didn't feel like eating fish and chips, because they had run out. So I am assuming their fish and chips must be good for that to have happened. I went with the three tacos, having to choose three shrimp tacos cause they were out of fish as stated above and the other choice were oysters. lol! No problem. I like shrimp. My husband got the shrimp po'boy and fries. Here's where some corrective criticism comes in. The wait time for food was far too long. We sat for about little over 30 minutes before we got our food. Granted, they were apologetic and knew it was too long. I'm not sure what the problem was, but they did make good on it by taking 15% off our bill. They didn't need to do that, but we did appreciate it. I get it....they're new and figuring it out. I have no doubt whatever the issue was, it'll be improved upon. We appreciated the fact that the waiter and the other gal working (I am assuming the owner?) kept checking in and apologizing. As far as the food: we ordered a bowl of chips and salsa to start. Nothing outstanding about them, except we were so hungry we snarfed them down pronto. The salsa tasted like it was out of a jar, not bad but not fresh homemade. (If I'm wrong I do apologize.) My husband said the shrimp po'boy was tasty. He just wished it was a bit bigger. It came on a smallish roll, cut in half with some steak fries. It did look like a small portion for a big fellow, and he left feeling a bit hungry. My tacos were ok. They came with fried, crispy shrimp layered with some slaw in corn tortillas. They were tasty, but, the slaw was overpowering the taste of the shrimp. I wished it had been the other way around. The slaw was very sweet. Not bad, but I felt like it was more a sweet slaw taco instead of a shrimp taco. This review isn't going to stop us from going again. I'd like to try their fish and chips and their burger. And we really want this little place to be successful cause it's been far too long without any restaurants in our tiny little communities. (Nemah and Bay Center) So, I hope to be able to change this star rating to a 5 very soon!

We walked in and about 5 people were all hanging out at the bar, including employees. You could tell they were all locals and they all turned and watched us. Both fish and oysters were delicious. Service was quick and friendly.

I walked in about 10 minutes before closing and offered to take my food to go, but my server told me that while the kitchen was closing, I was still welcome to eat in the dining room since the bar would remain open. I didn't catch her name, but she was "awesome possum"--cute, short, energetic, and full of the kind of fun, friendly banter you would expect from Flo at a classic diner. She made the whole experience even better. I ordered the FishMonger fish and chips platter, which came with two pieces of tuna, plus cod, rockfish, and salmon. It was an incredible amount of food for only $24! The batter was perfectly crunchy and flavorful, the fish tasted fresh, and the portions were very generous. I barely managed to finish it, but I persevered--mostly by sacrificing the fries! The only slightly confusing part was finding the restaurant. Some of the reviews made it sound like a standalone location, but FishMongers is actually located inside the South Jetty dining room and bar. Once I found it, though, I loved the atmosphere. It had a great, relaxed vibe, excellent food, and outstanding service. I will definitely be back!
