I am a big mexican food person and I very much enjoyed El Amigo Pepe. Not the best mexican food I've had, but I would definitely come back. I got myself a small chicken quesadilla, but next time I'll have to try the tacos and have my husband come with. The service was good and the prices were fair. I come to Niles quite a bit so I am glad to have found a mexican place I like in the area. read more

I'm a CA transplant, burritos and tacos are food items I would eat weekly back home. This place is as close to "Mission style" food as it gets. Super friendly service, quick and polite. The ambience is fitting for the food. I will continue to go here! read more

Worst food ever!!!!!!! Price gouging. $20 for one breakfast. That's two eggs, toast and hashbrowns. Do not eat here very expensive. I had omelette that was inedible.could not eat , took 2 bites and Spit it out I sent it back. Price gouging place. Give me zero rating if there was one. read more

This is my kids' favorite restaurant in Niles since they were 4 or 5 years old, they ate now 22 and 20. Good Mexican food and very friendly service. Ans occasionally I can get tongue tacos (my favorite). Definitely recommended. read more

We had been to El Amigo Pepe at their old location. Still very good. We had tacos . Fish and chicken. Good. When asked if we wanted more salsa with our chips...we said yes... only to learn when we received the bill- we were charged for it. Beware- only the first salsa with chips is complimentary. Many other good Mexican places that don't charge for salsa. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Jose M.

Being a young boy growing up in Mexico, Jose remembers being shooed out of the kitchen for trying to help. Boys were to work outdoors that was the rule. Yet Jose never lost his love for the kitchen and in 1988 when he married his beautiful wife Ana they realized they both had deep connection with food. Ana loves coming up with new ideas and Jose loves cooking them. Together they have created a menu that is unique to them in flavor and quality. Customers have followed from different towns and over 20 years just to continue to get a taste of that authenticity. They always welcome each guest with a warm smile and loving hearts

You could tell from the people entering that this is a staple in the area, so I would suggest that if you're ever in Niles, you swing by and enjoy their homemade food and incredible desserts.
