    Elote in a cup
    Claire V.

Okay. We just moved up here from the south a little over a week ago. I've been on a MISSION to find a good Mexican spot. Our first day here, we got there a little too late and it was closing.. but when I saw a sign that said they sell elotes, I knew that this was not an accident... oh no, my friends, God was showing me where I will be spending half of my time while I'm living here. So a couple of days later, I'm on here looking up the address to this place and a couple hours earlier someone made a review stating that it was filthy and had horrible food. Did that deter me from my elote destiny? Absolutely NOT. I still wanted to give the place a chance because let's be real, elotes are actually THAT important. So we pull up, go in, and I notice how CLEAN the place is. They have some groceries in the front and a little dining area in the back. I ordered my elote in a cup and as I'm waiting for my appointment witch cheesy spicy destiny, I'm looking around. I got my kids some drinks. All the groceries are super reasonably priced. The people seemed nice although I didn't get to talk much. So anyway, 5 mins later my elote is ready. Anyway, have y'all ever seen Forest Gump? You know the part where Forest and Jenny are running towards each other and reunite in the reflecting pool in D.C.? (Yes Claire, but what does this have to do with this?) I'll tell you what it has to do with this! THATS HOW GOOD THAT ELOTE WAS. Seriously, all the feels. I left and ate in my car so I could be a piglet and inhale it in two seconds but it was SO GOOD. And I def didn't get "sick" from eating here. Side note: food-borne sicknesses or food poisoning take AT the very LEAST 12 hours to incubate so if one got sick "immediately" after eating here, it wasn't bc of the food. This place doesn't need a health department visit. They need an award for making my taste buds insanely happy. :) I didn't have time to go try anything else that day specifically but best believe I'll be back bc their other food looks fire too.

Delicious Mexican food hidden at the back of a small market. The food tasted very fresh. I got a chicken burrito and the meat was tender, juicy, and really flavorful.

This is hands down the best taqueria in the South Bend/Niles area.

Food is so dang good. And cheap. Talk about a hidden treasure. Authentic taste and friendly staff. Really nice little place.

Absolutely Fantastic…read more The only this I would change are the hours, they're never open! The food is the best in Niles, by a huge margin. Service is great, speedy and friendly. The atmosphere is very cool, an old historic building. They always decorate well. I do wish a little more was done with it, but for what really matters at a restaurant, this place nails it.

This place is AWESOME. Hand made everything, real ingredients, separate fryers....I was actually able to eat fries for the first time out in YEARS, and they were absolutely delicious. The pomegranate lemonade was so good! The chicken tacos, crispy chicken club and traditional tacos were all thoroughly enjoyed by my family. Jyn made our experience here even better with her sweet personality and willingness to answer our questions. We will definitely be back. Restaurants across America need to follow the example of this restaurant....clean ingredients, compassion toward food allergies, hand made meals.....this is what we want more of. Thank you, The Rage, for offering people like me a place where we can actually enjoy a meal with our limitations.

Took two tries to get the sauce. My sliders had zero seasoning and the fries were luke-warm, brown and limp - nothing like the ones I saw around us. My wife ordered her tacos with the sauce on the side, they came doused in sauce. She ate one, then asked for the remaining one to be re-done with the sauce on the side. A VERY long time later, they brought another full order. By that time, we were done and asked for it "to-go." After waiting a LONG time for our check, we looked in the to-go box and realized that there was NO sauce on the side. ...another long wait. Waitress explained that the owner was adjusting the charges which was why it was taking so long. We said "she needs to come over and talk with us," but she did not. The tacos were discounted, but really should have been comp'd. That isn't why I'm complaining, though. We were very frequent customers at their previous restaurant and drove quite a distance to try this one. We will try one more time, but it won't be for awhile. Kitchen needs to get with it. Owner needs to own-up to mistakes.
