After looking up good places to go, Bar La Playa came up- and I'm sure glad it did! First, it's easy to get to if you're coming from North. Our Uber was easily able to drop us off without getting stuck in gridlock traffic that can affect certain roads of this area. Additionally, the location isn't a high-traffic area for tourists. That meant we were able to walk up and immediately find seats. Second, the service was top notch. I didn't get the bartenders name, but he was very welcoming, friendly, hospitable and spoke English. Just an overall cool dude and was glad to support his business. Third, the drinks were great. Finally, we were drinking 'real' drinks, not the watered down sugary stuff at the hotel. We were very satisfied with the taste of the drinks. Fourth, the prices are really good. Mexico has gotten expensive and this was a sigh of relief. You can have a great time here without feeling like you paid an arm and a leg. I highly-highly recommend making Bar La Playa your first stop when coming to this area. You're going to get great service, great drinks and all at a price that is reasonable and fair.

They use tanqueray as their house gin which is unusual but a pleasant surprise as it actually happens to be my preferred brand. I didn't have high hopes for the martini - I find that outside of major U.S. cities places end up putting in way too much vermouth - and it actually ended up being fantastic. It didn't taste too different from what I would make at home which is probably the best thing I could say about a martini (for my own personal taste). I tried a fruitier one - the Gigi - as my second and final drink. It was good but I'm just not a fruity drink person. I just wasn't equipped to handle another standard martini lol. The ambiance is phenomenal - it was both casual and comfortable yet classy. The crowd was much older than I expected although not in a bad way at all. There were lots of expats in their 50s and 60s. I was worried it would be a rowdy rooftop and by contrast it was actually a very chill vibe. Only complaint is that the bathroom is outside of the venue down the stairs and you need a key to enter, which was a bit annoying bc I wanted to use the restroom before I left and I forgot to ask for the key on my way out. Small annoyance and certainly wouldn't prevent me from going back.

They were warm and delicious. The herbs in the butter made for a nice compliment. We were served a small pork hors d'oeuvre before we ordered. It's flavor was nice and refreshing. We went in for cocktails because the bar was decorated with modern decor and was quite stylish. We chose to sit on the patio which was nicely decorated and the weather was perfect. We ordered two cocktails that were both delicious! You can tell they take pride in their cocktails and food. We ordered "the three spoiled ones" to snack on, which was basically three sliders, but they weren't your typical sliders. They were each a different kind of meat and cheese. I enjoy trying new things and they were also very good. They had a DJ playing music throughout the bar. I'd love to try more items next time we're on vacay!

We ALWAYS tip don't get me wrong, but our server's shift must have been over because she only came once we finished eating to pick up our plates and once we paid she immediately said "do you need your change?" Mind you our change was over $180 pesos (we only had large bills at the moment) and the dollar was exchanged at $16 pesos.... That rubbed me the wrong way. Don't expect or ask people to leave you all of their change as tip. Returned the next day because again, food & drinks were great and had a nicer experience the second time. The gentleman with a beard & septum piercing was THE BEST!!! Very humble, welcoming and overall amazing service!

Same great food and friendly smiling faces I have come to know and appreciate over the years. This is one of my favorite waterholes in the area where their daily happy hour from 1 to 5 is not to be missed. Many places make a good lime Margarita in the area but No Se Nada's flavored margarita is top shelf in my book and a separator from the other bars/restaurants in the area where the passion fruit Margarita is one of my all time favorites regardless of destination/locale. Their Bistro style cuisine is some of the best food in the area and the roof top dining with sun going down is such a great environment that this is a destination restaurant if you are in Puerto Vallarta. Five Stars ++

I say "small", as the the inside spaces, on all three floors, can get tight, especially the first and third floors. However, the outdoor space on the second floor makes up for it all! Wraparound seating, string lights and gorgeous murals...this courtyard is where we spent more of our time while at Anonimo. We were here for the cocktails of course, so we hit the main floor first, then made our way up to the third floor before settling in the outdoor courtyard. Drinks here are standard beer and cocktails. Pricing is great, as with most places in the area. While are not cash only, they do highly recommend cash and have a 500 pesos limit for credit card usage. If you are only have a drink or two, you may not be able to hit that, but we just put our groups first round on the same tab and were able to make do with no issues. Service was friendly and welcoming, space was fun, open and distinctly PV. Overall, we loved it and will certainly be back on future visits!

Te amo barra de videos!…read more Anónimo is a queer cocktail bar in Puerto Vallarta on the just outside the outskirts of the Zona Romantica area in PV. It's a multi-story bar lounge to hang and enjoy some great cocktails as well as some amazing music and music videos from all over. They closed a little earlier than normal the night we stopped in, a bit surprising for a Saturday night but definitely still enjoyable since we closed the bar out on the patio of the top floor overlooking the street with two solid drinks. Our bartender was really easy going offered for us to pick a few videos but one of the customers was on a role so we just let them have it - only a little off after they started skipping videos. The entire layout is very fun, definitely watch you step and your head if you're tall like me and the novio. Definitely a great spot to wrap up the night and/or start it off. The second level has this amazing wide patio deck with a beautiful mural. Definitely need to hang there a bit next time. We only had one minor issue with change here, but it got resolved really easily. Everyone we met was kind, friendly and welcoming even the person living their best life as the impromptu video dj of the night shot after shot. It's a full bar, no eats, but nothing but great energy and beats.
