Stopped in for some takeout, got home starving only to be disappointed. I ordered sopes, rice and beans, with extra cheese and sour cream. To start, they omitted the extra cheese or sour cream, but the worst part was having a mouth full of burnt beans. That char taste, the burnt smell, it was ridiculous. Now, if you have ever burnt beans before you know what I mean. I'm appalled that a cook/chef could even allow this to leave his kitchen, shame on him. So unacceptable! There were black specks throughout the beans. I forced myself to finish one of the sopes (because I was so hungry), in total regret. The sopes were overly cooked harder than a tostada shell, it had a layer of the charred beans every bite was agonizing. I gave up, my meal was ruined. I called to tell them and the person who answered copped an attitude. She finally agreed to give me a refund, but I would need to bring all the food back. Not wasting my time twice! Tonight was my first time at this place. I wanted Indian food, my friend offered to feed me Mexican food instead. So we ended up here. Apparently he liked their burritos and said that their breakfast burrito was bomb. It was 930pm. There was only a group of girls in the restaurant. They weren't even eating anything but was sitting at a table. This place is pretty much a hole in the wall. Apparently they also take EBT Cash. The menu was above the register and they had pictures of some of the dishes hanging on the wall. I looked around and pointed at a picture of camerones al mojo de ajo. I am asian I don't know what that means, but the picture looked good. I was told that it was garlic shrimp and I would probably like it. So I made him order it for me. My meal came with rice, beans, chips, tortilla and avocado. While we were waiting my friend played video games, while I try to discreetly take pictures of the place for yelp. yes, discreetly. I used to laugh at people taking pictures of their food and now I find myself doing it too, shake me head. They have a few arcade machines, and the claw, one of those cheap toy vending machine and a jukebox. The place kept me entertain while I wait for my order. My food was pretty good, My shrimp was slightly overcooked but it was still good. I really like there red sauce, it has a nice kick to it. I poured like 2 containers of it all over my food. This very traditional authentic Mexican restaurant. There prices are very reasonable. They have lots of special deals... if you choose the right one, you can save even more. Food is delicious. I have ordered 3 lengua tacos. Size of the taco is small but taste is beyond good. The reason I give 3 star is my lengua taco had lots of fats and other vein parts. This restaurant might say it is part of lengua but I just like real part of lengua. Veins in my lengua tacos really throw me off and looks disgusting but I eventually finish my tacos after removing them since it was so good. The carne asada tacos and tortas, and quesadillas are on the cheaper side and are so yummy. This place is open very late and is a great choice for a fourth meal or a snack! They have ample parking, and accept all major credit cards. I go here whenever I'm itching to get my taco fix and take the order to go. They do have some booths for dine in, as well as some arcade games, a jukebox, and a single stall gender neutral public restroom. Would recommend. read more

This place is ideal if you're looking for some fast and cheap Mexican food. I've never had anything other than Tacos or Burritos to be honest with you. The food was served with a super tiny cup of salsa and a small bag of chips, that was a nice little bonus. The flavor of my tacos wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad. I'd eat here again, but it would have to be at the suggestion of my group. I would choose to not come here on my own. Also, they charge .25 for a cup of water. This place is open 24/7 probably because they're really close to this one bar (Los Chabelitas - I should go there since they named it after me) where they get a lot of clientele (I assumed on the wee morning hours). I like knowing that there's a place I can go at 2 AM if I feel like being a fatty. I've only had their Camarones El Diablo and it is very, very, VERY spicy. Be warned. I had to stop a few times while eating to wipe my nose and allow my taste buds to work again. Every few times is actually every 2-3 tablespoons of the dish with white rice. A pretty rockin' little place. It's a lot bigger and more presentable than the El Atacors on Whittier Blvd., which isn't to say it's nice - it isn't, it's still funky, but seats around 20 people. It's pretty good, but not the VERY best ingredients. Their sopes kick serious ass. I just ate one of their $1.75 chorizo breakfast burritos. For $1.75, damn. Their tacos are pretty okay. If you get a chile verde burrito, the meat is so finely minced it's hard to tell what you're eating - except it tastes good. Open 24 hrs, looks closed at 12:30AM gets busy at 2:00 AM (when the bars close and all the drunk nacos with their cowboy hats fill the place. read more
