Delicious!!!!! And the service is great. Best mole, EVER. Worth the price in every way. Also, portions are large so taking leftovers is likely :)

Cozy Mexican restaurant! They are known for their mole so I had to try it! Mole Manchamanteles: (spicy mole) ordered the make your own mole plate with chicken breast! Large portion that comes with rice, vegetables and corn tortillas. Perfect spice level. Not make your nose run but definitely noticeable :) the rice is perfectly moist. Really enjoyed this dish. Agua Fresca Hibiscus: not too sweet. Very refreshing! Great service! There are about 6 tables inside and some outdoor seating tables. Also just about 5 parking spaces behind the building.

Enjoyed my dinner with my best friend at Rocio's Mexican Kitchen. The space is small and makes you feel like home. The moles are made to order and they have many to choose from. My friend and i shared the mole verde with chicken (leg and thigh). It came with rice and veggies. We also got the nopal salad and it was really delicious. The meal came with fresh homemade tortillas as well. The staff was super friendly and made you feel welcomed .

Walked out and I had to write this as the experience was so fresh in my heart and mind! The service was perfect, the girl handled everything from wait service to busboy to cashier - she even recommended a great pairing of mole with my pork chops. And boy the mole here was next next level! I thought I had mole before but I realized I never experience the true essence of mole until tonight. I also was pleasantly surprised to know that Rocio's was Michelin rated, the food was just perfection! The crowd was regular working class folks yet the cuisine was just incredible! The Mole MANCHAMANTELES is the one! Spicy yet rich and ever so sweet, earthy and soulful!

Been here a few times and its an absolute favorite of mine. The mole is amazing and i love how they give you chips with different moles to try. The cafe de olla is amazing as well. This is my moms favorite place to eat as well. The customer service is always good and friendly! The only thing I do miss is when the interior used to be red and decorative rather than just plain.

Rocio's Mexican Mitchen is at a quiet corner of Garfield and Ira in Bell Gardens. It's a cozy spot with half a dozen tables plus a small patio area. The menu is aptly labeled La Diosa de los Moles. The goddess of moles has ten different moles with ingredients such as pistachio, mint, pumpkin seeds, corn fungus, and peanuts, with various types of chili peppers. Some of them have evocative names such as Manchamanteles - tablecloth stain. The staff is really friendly and they bring a basket of tortilla chips covered in a few of the moles. The Mole Oaxaqueno is a black mole with a mix of a couple dozen ingredients, which produces an astoundingly complex depth of flavor. You can taste the sweetness from the fruits first, then the spices and nuts shine through, followed at the end by a mild tingle of heat from the chili peppers. The chocolate adds silkiness and even more flavor to the mole. The plate has a foundation of rice and lightly grilled, firm, carrot and zucchini matchsticks. Stacked on top is a thin bone-in pork chop, which is tender, juicy, and delicious on its own. I love food with lots of sauce, so this dish makes me happy. The flavor and thickness of the mole remind me of curry with its deep list of spices and ingredients. I'm ready to come back again so I can try more of the moles! Parking: There's a tiny lot with a couple spots in the back. There's also street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

We've seen this little hole in the wall restaurant a few times when we go to the Bell Gardens sports complex. Decided to stop by today, my husband loves mole. The name on of the restaurant actually says La diosa de los moles. There's also a spice store in the same parking lot. Staff is super friendly Anyways, the food was amazing. I had the spicy bbq ribs with potatoes (chileajo). So yummy. My husband ordered the mole enchiladas with the mole ranchero. Also delicious. This place offers no alcohol but you can get aguas frescas. The agua de sandía was just what i needed in this hot summer day. A must try

    Cheese enchiladas enmolada

The cheese enchiladas enmolada were delicious with lots of mole. I tried the passion fruit agua fresca which had a beautifully powerful fresh flavor. In my last visit I tried salmon with a different mole and it was a mistake. The mole was way too strong for salmon dishes. Stick with the chile relleno or other protein.

Step 1 (choice of mole): mole oaxaqueño + mole poblano. Step 2 (choice of protein): rib eye. Tortillas in a cute sombrero box.

tl,dr: good place for some Michelin mole. Likes: + They offer a sample of their moles on chips before you order your meal. + Their moles are flavorful. Homey experience. + Though the restaurant is small (only about 7 dining tables total), there were very few customers, so I found a table easily and there was little wait. Same goes for parking. + Very pleasant and helpful staff. + Cute Michelin-themed decorations displayed about the dining area. Non-likes: - no restrooms. - uncomfortable wooden benches. Confusion: the title of my receipt says "La Diosa de los Moles", which is actually the neighboring shop. The restaurant name is Rocio's Mexican Kitchen. I had: $26 Steak (Rib eye) + $4 agua fresca + tax = $32.92 for party of 1

Small restaurant with huge impact. The dishes are so flavorful. Different types of mole, there's something for everyone. There are vegetarian dishes as well as pescatarian dishes. My favorite has been the salmon with squash blossom sauce. This dish is AMAZING. The exterior is colorful and a delightful little potpourri of color and art pieces that are mixed with Mexican flavor. There's a giant Catrina at the doorway to greet you. If you drive by, she's large enough to see from either side of Garfield. There is some outdoor seating and indoor seating. During hotter days the inside can be sweltering hot due to the small space. Service is great, the servers are super friendly and helpful with the menu or any questions. I've dined in and grabbed take out, every time the service is great whether it's over the phone or in person. There is a small parking lot on site, street parking is available.

Rocio's is by far the one and only place that has good, authentic, chilaquiles! They are fantastic - I recommended de la casa chilaquiles, they have are a little spicy. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the chilaquiles but everything at Rocio's is amazing! I had my first tlayuda here and it was an amazing experience. It was soo good! The service is always great.

This neighborhood gem is known for their moles. That's how the menu works too. A good portion of the menu is where you choose they type of mole and then choose the protein to eat it with. There are some other items on the menu, but I think the moles have the spotlight. The restaurant itself is not large. It is cozy and comforting though. There is some seating on the inside and the outside. Also, as soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted by a really friendly person and seated right away. It was in the middle of the week and it super busy. Being my first time, I got the popular pick: the mole Oaxaqueno - the black mole and chose to put it on chile relleno. This also comes with some of their fresh fluffy tortillas. I also got a cucumber drink to wash it down (refreshing and delicious). I'm already a big fan of mole, but I have to say this might be some of the best mole I've ever had, if not the best. The flavors, the spices... all cohesive and well blended and prepared. The presentation of the dish itself was beautiful. I really enjoyed my meal here. I definitely would love to come back and try their different moles and protein combinations. Again, since this was the middle of the week, it seems parking was really easy to find in the provided lot or nearby on the street.

I'm a new regular because of the good food and service! It's a good place to try different mole flavors.

Are you available on DoirDash or UberEats?

As of 2022 they are available on Postmates.

Do they serve handmade tortillas or beer?

    Handmade tortillas for sure

Does anyone know if any of the moles have dairy at all or which ones do/don't? Asking for my brother who is severely allergic to dairy.

As of 2023-03-04, I was informed that none of the moles have dairy in them and are all vegan. I was informed the white rice is also vegan (I believe someone else indicated it was not - not sure if they have other types of rice).

Is the owner the same Rocio that ran Rocios Mole De Los Dios in Sun Valley?

    Yes

Is this the same owner as the Rocio from Rocios Mole De Los Dios that used to be in Sun Valley?

Hello Paul B! This is Rocio Camacho the same person you're talking about.

Is there enough seating? Pictures only show 2 tables inside?

There's about 5 tables that sit 4 ppl..its not a big place, but they also have outside seating for that nice day!

When we arrived, there were no tables set up and the hostess acted like she had no clue about our reservation. She seemed frazzled as she tried to put 3 tables & 8 chairs together for us. My wife ordered the boneless ribeye with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were bland, and the ribeye was over-seasoned, tough, and quite fatty. The seafood tower was good, as was my daughter's ceviche and my shrimp, but overall the experience fell short. And the music was extremely loud for being such a small establishment. Let's start with a little history of the Dal Rae, it opened in 1951 and has been sharing its extraordinary menu and dining experience to many including my wife's parents and family who dined there regularly for over 40 years. My wife's parents and her sisters would go there regularly as children. The Dal Rae offers a unique "old school" charm from the classic dining room vibe that you seldom see, don't get me wrong there are still a few of these places around but you know I experienced so much that I just don't see anymore. The dark dining room lit by table candles and dim lighting, featuring a long hardwood bar with the same lighting making amazing cocktails past the stage that hosts live entertainment to the dining rooms with the same lighting with booths with clothed tables, baskets of breads and a relish tray. The entire staff is friendly and honored to have you in their dining room. Let's talk about the food, a good sized menu offering some old school appetizers as well as your others, fine cuts of meats, fresh seafoods and aged beef. My entree came with a house salad that I have to say was the best dinner salad I have ever had, I am not sure if it was the fact that the salad was prepared and tossed with the house made blue cheese dressing with large chunks of blue cheese with simple additions but every bite was incredible. If I wasn't in such a classy establishment I would have kicked the plate . (But I didn't) our entrees came after our salads and some had French Onion Soup. My brother in law/wife and his brother/wife and sister/husband along with my wife filled our table. My brother in law and his siblings also dined at the Dal Rae with their parents when they were young and still come to this day. So there was a lot of great food on our table as well as great family. I ordered the Steak Diane a dish rarely found these days, I was so excited to have this again and just as excited to try it at Dal Rae, as it was prepared table side you could instantly smell the aromas of Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, butter and other ingredients then the brandy with a flash of fire creating the fragrant decadent sauce only to be found in Steak Diane. It was Molto Bene in every bite e tutti delizioso! All our dishes were simply incredible, great flavors and served with such class and old school charm. We also had the pleasure of the owner coming to our table and sharing some history of the restaurant and his family commitments to serving the community, people from Los Alamitos Race Track, the jockeys, the owners, the fans and continuing to do so. We all were so full we passed on the dessert menu but if I could fit it into my leg I would have gone with the Bananas Foster.....so I guess I need to come back for more. And Dal Rae I will be back....thank you for everything and an amazing dining experience. Well done Dal Rae, Well done Bon appetitto
