The wife and I were craving some tacos, we heard some good things about tacos don goyo so we decided to try it out. We got there on a Friday at 12pm and when we arrived to the location, the parking was ridiculous, they do not have any parking for customers other than in a very small cul de sac which is French for a dead end. They have 1 parking spot for handicap. It is obvious that the neighboring houses complained to the city about their customers taking all the residential parking so they built a wall in the middle of the street, crazy right! Anyways, let's get into the food!!! So we got the tacos, 4 pastor and 4 asada and a horchata, came out to about $50. Pretty pricey, worth it? I don't know. The tacos were great, the asada has a char flavor and the pastor is freshly roasted and served with pineapple, the tortillas seemed to be made by hand as well and gave it that real authentic flavor. The horchata was a bit too sweet. I would recommend this place, but make sure you go when it is not busy. The staff were polite and helpful when ordering, they did not rush at all. They have 3 benches in the shade available to eat on. It is an outside dining in a clean environment. read more

Great place to eat if you're in the Downey or LA area. I'd say it's one of the best taco spots--my wife and I really love it. I highly recommend the tacos, especially the carne asada and al pastor--they're the best on the menu. I've tried the quesadillas, but they weren't as tasty, and the tripitas weren't the best either. For the best experience stick with carne asada and al pastor. They have about three small tables on the side to eat, but there's no parking or restroom available. Bring hand sanitizer and be ready to park wherever you can (without causing any trouble). It's the LA area, so parking is always a challenge. But don't let that stop you from trying these tacos. Unreal... the flavor... the FRESH tortillas... the salsa (which was spicy enough without being TOO spicy) and as you can see in the photos the amount of meat they give you is more than your moneys worth (the tacos are $4 each... worth every penny). Solid Mexican food in Downey. First time I tried it, I had an asada mulita which was good, second time I visited I had their asada fries which were also good and the third time I had their al pastor mulita which I liked the best out of all of them but the star of the show is definitely their Cali Burrito, it's delicious! I would recommend that for sure. I also love that their tortillas are homemade which is a huge plus! The place itself is small only take out as their seating is limited and outdoors, parking is a little hectic on Telegraph so plan accordingly. This was on my places to visit and I was glad to finally get the chance to try out their tacos. Parking was a bit challenging, but I got lucky. Let me start by saying they hand make their corn tortillas and are extremely generous with the amount of meat and guacamole they put in each taco. They also have a small salsa bar in front of their small building. I had the regular Carne Asada tacos and the Quesotaco Asada. I added the greenish and bright red salsas and lemon to both of the tacos and had some of the radish slices and dove in. They use good quality meat and the tortillas and guacamole are also good quality and provided quick and friendly service. Unfortunately, everything was lacking flavor...it was bland. I am not sure if they use salt or other spices when they make everything but I couldn't taste anything. If they could add some spices and seasonings to everything they would have amazing tacos. Man, wanted to give this place a better review. The two stars are for the salsa bar, and that the food was edible. Unfortunately won't be coming back. We got multiple different items and it lacked so much flavor. The salsa saved it from a 1 star. Customer service is terrible. Girl taking our order was super rude. She also was looking at me sideways because I don't speak Spanish which is wild to me but it's fine. We got a chicken quesadilla and the cheese wasn't melted at all and the chicken was dry. So this is supposed to be a good taco joint. My co-worker Guadalupe!!! Claims this is the spot. My wife wanted Al pastor. We were in the area so we stopped by. First, this is a legit tiny taco stand with two picnic tables on the side of the building for dining in, or dining out I should say. With these freezing weather forget dining there. It's a to-go joint!!! Second, there is absolutely no where to park. There is a cul de sac dead end where everyone tries to park. If you are lucky like us, someone pulls out and then you can pull in to a spot. If you are unlucky and there is a line, you have a hard choice to make. Drive round and round like some guy did til someone left, or just go somewhere else. What I can say, we got lucky on parking otherwise, I would not be writing this review. One of the best Al-Pastor and Asada tacos and super fries around! I would always pass by this restaurant and never stop but would always notice the big lines which caught my eye. Finally went with my husband and was amazed at the great taste and softness of their meats. Tacos Don Goyo was a total letdown. No baby chair -- so families clearly aren't a priority. The sirloin was flavorless, like they forgot seasoning exists. The papa loca? Bland and forgettable. The grilled cebollas were burnt to a crisp, and somehow their salsas managed to have zero flavor -- quite an accomplishment for a taco place.
