I enjoyed my visit and would describe the food I tried as good but not exceptional. FOOD I tried the Arrachera taco (considered premium and costs about 50% more than the other tacos) and the Al Pastor taco. I like the tortillas. The arrachera was good but for the higher price, I would've liked the meat quality to still be a little better. They have a salsa bar outside but it was a bit messy looking on my visit. I chose not to use it as it visually looked unappetizing. SERVICE They are friendly here. PARKING This is basically a small stand. There is no seating and no parking. The wife and I were craving some tacos, we heard some good things about tacos don goyo so we decided to try it out. We got there on a Friday at 12pm and when we arrived to the location, the parking was ridiculous, they do not have any parking for customers other than in a very small cul de sac which is French for a dead end. They have 1 parking spot for handicap. It is obvious that the neighboring houses complained to the city about their customers taking all the residential parking so they built a wall in the middle of the street, crazy right! Anyways, let's get into the food!!! So we got the tacos, 4 pastor and 4 asada and a horchata, came out to about $50. Pretty pricey, worth it? I don't know. The tacos were great, the asada has a char flavor and the pastor is freshly roasted and served with pineapple, the tortillas seemed to be made by hand as well and gave it that real authentic flavor. The horchata was a bit too sweet. I would recommend this place, but make sure you go when it is not busy. The staff were polite and helpful when ordering, they did not rush at all. Solid Mexican food in Downey. First time I tried it, I had an asada mulita which was good, second time I visited I had their asada fries which were also good and the third time I had their al pastor mulita which I liked the best out of all of them but the star of the show is definitely their Cali Burrito, it's delicious! I would recommend that for sure. I also love that their tortillas are homemade which is a huge plus! The place itself is small only take out as their seating is limited and outdoors, parking is a little hectic on Telegraph so plan accordingly. I highly recommend the tacos, especially the carne asada and al pastor--they're the best on the menu. I've tried the quesadillas, but they weren't as tasty, and the tripitas weren't the best either. For the best experience stick with carne asada and al pastor. They have about three small tables on the side to eat, but there's no parking or restroom available. This was on my places to visit and I was glad to finally get the chance to try out their tacos. Parking was a bit challenging, but I got lucky. Let me start by saying they hand make their corn tortillas and are extremely generous with the amount of meat and guacamole they put in each taco. They also have a small salsa bar in front of their small building. I had the regular Carne Asada tacos and the Quesotaco Asada. I added the greenish and bright red salsas and lemon to both of the tacos and had some of the radish slices and dove in. They use good quality meat and the tortillas and guacamole are also good quality and provided quick and friendly service. Unfortunately, everything was lacking flavor...it was bland. I am not sure if they use salt or other spices when they make everything but I couldn't taste anything. If they could add some spices and seasonings to everything they would have amazing tacos. So this is supposed to be a good taco joint. My co-worker Guadalupe!!! Claims this is the spot. My wife wanted Al pastor. We were in the area so we stopped by. It's a to-go joint!!! Second, there is absolutely no where to park. There is a cul de sac dead end where everyone tries to park. If you are lucky like us, someone pulls out and then you can pull in to a spot. If you are unlucky and there is a line, you have a hard choice to make. Drive round and round like some guy did til someone left, or just go somewhere else. What I can say, we got lucky on parking otherwise, I would not be writing this review. We ordered a papa loca with Al Pastor. And carne asada nachos. What about the food L to the A!?!? You asking. Well.... Carne asada nachos were just OK. Not thing to write home to mom about. Lots of beans. Little carne asada almost no cheese. And lots of onions. Just OK. The carne asada was tough and had very little flavor. Saw one of the cooks opening plastic bags of beef, tossing them on the grill and sprinkling seasoning salt on them. The papa loca was much better. Lots of soft potatoes covered in cheese, Al pastor, pineapple, cilantro, onions. The flavor was all the mesh was delicious. The salsa bar was just eh.... Tried green and red salsa. Gave both two snaps down in Z formation So do you recommend? Should we go? Is it worth standing in line in the freezing cold? Hmmm. What can I say? If you're in the area. The temperature is mild, the stars align for you and There is no line to order, you can easily park and get in and get out with your food, go for it. Worth a shot. Unfortunately we went there Monday expecting happy hour two for one Mezcalitios only to be told by the waiter and manager that this not there advertisement and only Facebook and instagram is their undated information about the menu. We showed them what we read manger said no not ours and his professionalism and customer service immediately got a zero from us. We had pre ordered one appetizer and reluctantly two glasses of wine and soda over $40 later. The ChicharronBirria appetizer was not generous in its content. Honestly i think the prices for everything in the menu are accommodating the expense that went into every detail of the restaurant itself.
