I don't live anywhere near this spot but I was working nearby and it came up in Doordash so I researched it and decided to order. Seriously these are the best burritos out there! Their homemade flour tortillas are the star of the show. I have ordered three times from them and they're consistently perfect! Only in an abuela's kitchen in the 70s and 80s would you ever be able to find a breakfast burrito with homemade flour tortillas and perfectly seasoned scrambled eggs and potatoes. We found a shard of plastic in our burrito! By the time we noticed the place was closed. Burrito Exchange has not only gone down in service and quality but the ownership is clearly falling apart. We ordered burritos at about 7:30pm and by the time we got home and decided to eat them it was around 9pm. We split one and it was flavorless. The asada looked like shredded beef, chile was going bad, and beans were lacking salt. And then, by pure luck my husband was able to detect something sharp in his bite, thank God he didn't swallow it! Someone could have been seriously hurt. I called Burrito Exchange the next morning and asked to speak with the manager or the owner. I let the person I spoke to know that there was a serious problem and that the owner needed to call me ASAP. He took down my name and number and I waited... I want a refund. I want the owner of Burrito Exchange to know about the dangerous negligence going on in this restaurant. 24 hours later, I did not receive a call back which says A-LOT. So I've taken to Yelp to let everyone know that I will no longer be supporting this business and I will let everyone know to avoid it at all costs. I was craving a burrito after work, so we stopped by The Burrito Exchange since one of my buddies recommended it, and the reviews on Yelp seemed pretty decent. I got the asada with relleno. Yummm, It was pretty fire. That burrito was huge! I couldn't finish it and had to take it home, lol. I'm all about my hot sauces so the habernero sauce was good. (Not hot enough but good) My lil guy got the two asada tacos, and he said he loved them. My lucky day! There was a promotion, so I got a free drink. I chose the cucumber limon mixed with pineapple frescaaa. It really hit the spot. The ambiance was nice. It was a beautiful day to enjoy our food outside. They have seats inside and outside. Dope music as well--I was surprised they played house music. Service was good, the place is nice and clean. The restroom is in the back; you have to ask for the key. They have real plates! That is a huge bonus for me, not as important as the quality of the food, but when a 'fast food style' spot uses real plates, good food tastes better, than when it's served on flimsy styrofoam, paper or plastic. But that's just me. Unfortunately, they only have plastic utensils, but but I know it's much harder to clean utensils than it is plates. At any rate, The Burrito Exchange has some good food. I ordered the Carne Asada Burrito and the Bean & Cheese Burrito. They are not served with rice but both are loaded, big, and tasty. I also tried the Chicken Soft Taco. It was mostly dark meat. Not my favorite but ok. They have a trio of salsas - salsa verde (mild), salsa roja (medium), salsa habanero (spicy). All three are good, but beware of the habanero - it's very hot! Also, they don't have Coke, just Pepsi - I'm just sayin'. The service is friendly and the chairs & tables are clean and comfortable. The Burrito Exchange is worth a visit. I will be back. read more

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. THE WORST TACOS EVER! The meat was extremely dry and tasted terrible and we tried both tacos and burritos. The restaurant advertises fresh, handmade tortillas, but that was not what we received. False advertising! The service was also very disappointing and made the experience even worse. CARBS like rice or potatoes can be added by request. If you're a fan of Bean & Cheese Burritos, Burrito Exchange makes the BEST version of bean and cheese burritos out there; am usually not a fan of BC burritos. Their salsas habanero (orange) and verde (green) are excellent. I didn't care for the salsa roja (red), thought it was bland. They conveniently have a drive-thru and casual dine-in area. Use to be a huge fan. Place went down in service . All the workers do is talk when the owners not there and you're in the drive thru for 15+ plus minutes. I absolutely love spam and was shocked I saw this on the menu. Now keep in mind ALL burritos come with whole beans so if you don't want it have them take it out. I don't think spam and eggs don't go good with beans so I always leave it out. Let me say this, they don't skimp! This burrito had a LOT of spam and I was loving it. Food: Two carne asada burritos with cheese + one Jarritos Pineapple soda = $38.59. Why so high? Well, extras aren't cheap here: cheese $1.75, guac $1.75, avocado $1.75, pico $1.50 (seriously?) sour cream $1.50. By the end, my burrito had more expensive accessories than I do. Very disappointed with my burrito that I ordered today. I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito and it was the first time that I was disappointed. I've had the same burrito many times and have always loved it. I don't know what happened this time, there was literally no bacon or potatoes in the burrito. All I got was pretty much scrambled eggs and beans, it had almost no bacon or potatoes. I would of returned it but I had no time to go back. Mamma mia, what a burrito! I was initially drawn to this spot for their fresh made tortillas, which turned out to be amazing, and boy did I underestimate what else was to come. Everything in my pastor burrito was made fresh, from the beans to the pico de gallo to the salsas. The meat was marinated perfectly too. This was a fantastic burrito and I'll definitely be back. It was my first time here So I wanted to try the carne asada burrito and the only thing that this place has going is the freshly made tortillas cause this was the worst burrito I've had in a long time the salsa was so bland, meat had zero flavor the beans looked good but were so tasteless and the "carne asada" was mostly fat. I had been wanting to try this place. I love Machaca burritos and have had many in my lifetime. The burrito was good! It was big with lots of finely shredded beef and also had excellent pinto beans. There wasn't as much veggies/eggs as I would have liked but overall still delicious. Price was$13 with tax. I love that they specialize in burritos only. Found this gem in the city of pico Rivera. Looks like a whole in a wall place but when you go in, it's upgraded and clean. Tortilla was made fresh and the food was good. I got the carne asado with chile relleno and yes it was the perfect combo My wife got the breakfast burrito bacon cheese potatos = bliss if an establishment makes their own tortilla you already know the quality of the ingredients is very important to them, especially the vehicle which it comes in. Soft chewy with just enough taste that doesn't overpower the fillings. Ordered from Grubhub. 3 out of the 4 burritos - terrible. No salt. Chile verde tasted like it was ready to go bad. Chorizo had this weird taste to it that I couldn't figure out. Burritos can definitely benefit from some cheese and salted beans. Everyone raves about this place and honestly we threw those three burritos in the trash. Order a Chile verde burrito and a carne asada Chile relleno quesadilla. The tortillas are definitely homemade. The burrito was full of chunks of tender pork and the salsa was perfect. (Not tangy or to spicy). The beans tasted so fresh. Service was great. Will definitely come back. The quesadilla was delicious as well/ lots of cheese, nice slices of I think roasted California chiles and lots of meat as well. So a friend of mine took me to this place. When I saw that they make they own tortilla, they got my attention. I'm a sucker for their in house made tortilla. Great place to have a burrito, or 10. Too many choices, much of the standard stuff but with a more delicious hand made tortilla. I ordered the Carnitas burrito and a Chicharron. They both only have 3 ingredients, meat, beans and pico de gallo. You can purchase tortilla packs to go. I hear their breakfast burritos great also. I came here with my mom to pick up food to go during the COVID pandemic. We opted for the drive through for (hopefully) obvious reasons, but service was so slow with only one other car ahead of us that it probably would have been faster to park the car and just walk inside. The design of the drive-through is strange. Granted, this is an old-school (1970s?) Taco Bell building, which probably didn't have a drive through when it opened, but what they've added is overbuilt and confusing, and we either had to turn around in the parking lot or go out onto the street in order to reenter correctly. The food is decent. I was expecting to be wowed based on its Yelp reviews (I bookmarked it years ago), so I was disappointed that it was just solid. The tortillas are amazing. They were definitely made fresh not long before we picked up our food--perhaps that's what was causing the holdup? When I first looked this place up, I had it mistaken for another place that also occupies a former Taco Bell building, so it was much farther than I thought it would be. That's not The Burrito Exchange's fault, but that is why I never returned to give it additional tries. It's well worth a visit if you're in the area, but my parents live on the far side of Whittier, so doing takeout from here doesn't make sense. read more

Best restaurant breakfast burrito I've ever had. Choritzo, egg, beans, papas accompanied with a Cafe de Olla. The burrito was very tastey, all of it was cooked perfectly, wrapped in a freshly made tortilla. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but, this place made me a fan of their Cafe de olla, just enough cinnamon but not too sweet. The owner was extremely nice. Have visited this spot twice, but only drive-thru. Tried the chile relleno burrito and it is massive! Tried it the way it came the first time, the second I just got beans and the chile. I liked it without the rice. This is definitely shareable! So if you're on a budget, this is great! Both times I saved the second half and it reheated great in the toaster oven.
