I loved this all-vegan mexican restaurant so much. The interior is clean and adorably decorated. It looked a bit like Rainforest Cafe-- so fun to take a few pics with the backdrops! I've been craving breakfast food for a while so I got the breakfast burrito to try. It definitely hit the spot for me, and it was so big I ended up splitting it with 2 other people. My friend got the breakfast bowl and I tried some. It was basically the same as the burrito but just deconstructed with quinoa as a base. It was all great! I love that Guacamaya serves breakfast all day for late risers like me. I really wanted to try the coconut Tres leches that was on display as well, but I think they said it was like $12. Finding a good plant-based restaurant or grocery store in my area proved a bit challenging, but I stumbled upon a gem in Downey! I decided to treat my best friend to dinner and drinks. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived. We ordered gorditas, guacamole, and nachos. I had a margarita, and my friend enjoyed her nachos with a refreshing cucumber drink. We also purchased a cup of *Champurado* to go, after sampling it - and it's truly exceptional. My gorditas featured a delicious mushroom "meat" and soy chorizo. The chorizo had a delightful kick - a pleasant spice, not overpowering. The mushroom "meat" was fantastic! The guacamole was perfect, and I appreciated the NO tomatoes. I didn't try the nachos, but my friend seemed to thoroughly enjoy the diverse ingredients. We had a wonderful time and I'll definitely be returning. Came here around 4PM on a Thursday. It wasn't busy at all, so no waiting for us. It's a cute restaurant! You order at the counter and pick a table to sit at, then they bring the food to your table. For Happy Hour, they have buy one drink, get the next drink 50% off, so we ordered two cocktails. I had the cucumber one and my friend ordered the mango. The drinks were delicious! I loved the tajin rim. For food, I ordered the Guacamaya wrap, which was pretty good, but I wish I ordered a different protein. I ordered it with the chicken. My friend ordered the vegan chilaquiles and I preferred her dish over mine. I still enjoyed my food and would be down to come back and try their other dishes. It's interesting how I ended up at this restaurant. I actually went to the Boba shop next-door just to find out that they're not there anymore so while I was there, I decided to give this place a try. They have a huge menu, plenty to choose from and some desserts. I ended up ordering the Gorditas one with the jackfruit and marinade and the other one was the Asada. And I'm gonna be honest with you the jackfruit one was intolerable. I couldn't even eat it. I had to give it away. The asada was really good. I do plan on coming back but next time to try the chile Relleno burrito. Service is cool. Plenty of seating, outdoor dining. As this was my first time, I asked for some recommendations on menu favorites, so the Guacamaya wrap it was! I added jackfruit for protein. Inside the flour tortillas was a crispy corn trastada. I had never been to a Vegan restaurant but I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the restaurant was a casual dining type but it actually was a fast dining. Besides the fact that I expected table service, the decorations were so absolutely beautiful. The name Oasis truly came to play. There was so much greenery and every wall was Instagram-worthy. As for the food, I was not disappointed in the protein options. There were a few listed and all smelled delicious. I only got the jackfruit but I was happy with my choice. I got the chilaquiles and I was a little sad that the chips were not at all crunchy, maybe two or three of the whole bowl. I personally like a little a little crunch with my chilaquiles. As for the drinks all were good except I felt the horchata was closer to plain almond milk than horchata I just didn't feel the cinnamon taste was strong enough. I wanted to clear up what an earlier reviewer said- this restaurant actually DOES have gluten free options. When I called, the waitress said that everything besides the flour tortillas is gluten free. I got a fiesta bowl with jackfruit barbacoa and it's flavorful, and the portion is HUGE. I'm lowering my rating based on the lack of response from the owner or management. Sent several messages to them via the gmail they provided in my last review however they failed to respond and did not even bother to reply. One thing's for sure--I bet they will see this new updated review and will speak up then. As a business owner, I suggest in the future to have better communication skills. This is how you keep customer retention...because of this I will not be returning here nor will not be recommending this place to anyone. Lack of response speaks volumes and it clearly shows this restaurant doesn't care. You're just another number and on with the next. Amazing vegan Mexican food. I highly recommend going and trying everything on the menu. It's all very filling too, but you don't feel bloated afterwards. I can never finish a whole meal too. It's giving eclectic, unique & sharp! I'm a Pisces and I'm drawn to bright lights, loud colors, and wild patterns. I love high ceilings and spacious buildings. The owners had an eccentric take on interior design. It was a highlight for me because fast-food restaurants aren't always going for ambiance. Time was taken to ensure the customer would not only enjoy the food but that the dining experience would be just as inviting. Vegan Mexican food, who would have put these two together? Well, they did and it worked the food was plentiful, fresh, and delicious. I will say when I went the customer service was moderate. Wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Yes, fresh and solid vegan options. The location threw me off, it's in front of a movie theater and not visible from the street or parking. The decor and vibe were cute and staff were helpful. You order at counter. The menu felt a bit overwhelming. I opted for the Guacamaya Wrap no proteins. It was so yummy. I also got the Lime Chipotle Salad, which had fresh ingredients and Chips with Green Salsa, which sadly was not spicy but made up for it in flavor. 4.5/5 stars: from a long-time vegetarian! I've been meaning to make it out to Guacamaya Oasis for a while now, but finally got to try this spot and it definitely lived up to the hype! I've tried several other fully vegan Mexican restaurants before (and I'm so incredibly glad more restaurants are opening up) and I have to say this was one of my favorite spots! The food: I've been craving tacos but the vegan tacos I had recently didn't really hit the spot, so I went up to the register asking for their most popular taco, and just ordered as recommended! The friendly staff said her favorite was the quesabirria tacos, so I just ordered the three on the menu. Post tax and tip, it was just below $19 for my order. My friend ordered the Chile Relleno Burrito, and we got to share a little of each other's order. The tacos came with onions, cilantro, and lime, while the burrito came with green and red sauce. My friend and I both preferred the tacos over the burrito, but not having tried meat versions of either order, I can't really say how'd they compare to their meat counterparts. But, truly, if you're not vegan or vegetarian and come in with an open mind, I'm fairly certain you'll end up enjoying the flavors, regardless of if there's any meat in your order! At least, this was the case for my non-vegan/vegetarian friend. I just wish they had an option to mix and match diff tacos, because truly I wanted to try a little of everything! But I guess that just means I need to make the trek back. Everything else: You'll find the restaurant located in a series of plazas in Downey next to the theater and a boba shop (Ding Tea). Note that the restaurant is not on the outer edge by the parking lots, but in the inner row. There's plenty of parking, but on a Saturday night, I had to make several circles in the parking lot maze before I found a spot. Service was fairly quick, and you order at the register. If you dine in, they'll give you a number plate and bring you your food, but you'll need to get your own utensils & water at their little self service area, and bus your plates back to the trash can when you finish! It's a casual spot and a comfortable dining experience. There's limited seating inside but also plenty outdoor seating. read more

I got the Jamaica cocktail and it was amaaaaazing, super sweet, barely tasted like alcohol They also have an assortment of beverages at the front. You order & then you find a seat. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. I actually came in w my dog and it wasn't a problem whatsoever; she sat underneath my chair outside while we dined. The place is very cute (see attached photographs). My burrito was great but it had so much guacamole that it wouldn't be good to heat up later. We were so hungry and wanted vegan tacos. I read the yelp reviews and since they were pretty good we decided to give Guacamaya oasis a try. So we got 2 orders of tacos. And guacamole and chips. Guacamole was my plentiful but blah. The tacos were barely warm. And for 15.95 for three tacos- not worth it. Taco shells were fresh from the Old El Paso box. And the tacos were mushy. Granted only tried it once, but good was so good. Fresh, light and tummy. I had the Mushroom adobo bowl forget the name. Drinks were great as well. Back to my pick up experience. Yes fresh food takes time to prep, but after placing my order online, i was given an ETA. Arrived few minutes past my pick up time as i was on work lunch and did not want to wait. Welll ended up waiting an additional 20-25 min. This was around 12ish close to 1pm, so no Lunch rush there. Most of the people waiting for to-go orders and delivery app drivers. What a great discovery, Guacamaya Oasis is located between the theater Cinemark and The Olive Restobar. I walked passed and noticed it was a Plant based food place. Me not being a Vegan, kept on walking, not sure why but I turned back and decided to give it a try. The Food - I ordered the Green Pozole, risky move because I have already tried the best Pozole ever made, my aunts. To my surprise, this was very tasty, it had great color which made it visually delicious, and was pleasantly packed with flavor. The Service - The setup is simple, walk up, order, and take your seat. Not much to it, but, I was greeted with a smile. The Ambiance - The place is themed with greenery, tasteful tables and chairs, also has an outdoor seating area. Music plays not too loud, I even enjoyed reading a book after my meal in the outdoor seating area. To sum it up, I will make it a point to come back and try the rest of the menu. Newly opened and with nice decor! I got a jackfruit burrito and the keto bowl. For drinks we tried the vegan horchata which did have a decent flavor. It wasn't overly sweet which I appreciated. The keto bowl was very fresh tasting and the cream made the dish. My burrito was a decent size and I was super excited to try their flavoring of the jackfruit. It was tasty but the overall mix inside the burrito fell a bit flat. Instead of fresh lettuce or even cabbage, the cooked cabbage mix made the burrito a bit mushy. There seemed to be a lack of varied texture. I probably would try something else on the menu next time.
